I think the lp is good you are in severe danger of being strangulated by the Mr Morrissey influence ..I would considered the first LP a walk and learn process but you will have to shed this kind of thing for the second lp = bit like Franz Ferdinand

I grew up in the 80s listening to the Smiths and at this point in my life I’d rather listen to Wes sing. Morrissey’s voice was unique at the time but Wes has so much more range (and most of the time he doesn’t sound anything like Morrissey - case in point, “We Were Never Alive”).

You're reading too much into "one song"... their entire repertoire is a swirling blend of many influences/styles... Including Elvis, Roy Orbison, Wild Swans (song Bible Dreams)/Lotus Eaters/Modern English, White Lies, The La's, The Strokes ... the list goes on. It's hard not to be compared to someone else, it's all been done before, but these guys are TRUE TALENTS!
