I love how Jafar always insists he's a realist and doesn't believe in dreams throughout the musical, but in this song it's clear that's not true. His plan is to make "the world a paradise with all its problems solved." He's an idealist worn down by the world, and the second he gets hope back he starts planning to make the impossible happen.
It is so cool how this show uses recognizable themes and structures from Disney/Wicked. There are so many little Easter eggs from those parodied shows, and Twisted takes them in a completely different direction from the source material, and makes something so unique. I love it.

I already said this in a Twisted explained vid but Ja'far has longer notes while Aladdin gets shorter notes. The Princess is between them. I think this shows their like Values and morals. Ja'far is a good man, not a great man cause he has mistakes but his mind is in the right therefore he values are greater than Aladdin's (who's values are practically non-existent cause all he does is steal and f*ck every woman in the kingdom). The princess has good values but needs to work on them better.
I have a d&d character whos literally just hustling for the money to support his wife and children. He is literally Jafar from "And with my wife beside me" on to the rest of the song cause he just wants to make his wife happy and move his family to a happy neighborhood
