One of my favorite PTX vids is their live Popspring 2016 that has 3 originals and the evolution of Michael Jackson. Live they are just STUNNING!!! True story about Matt, when they were auditioning for the new bass, Matt showed up with all their basslines memorized, not just the ones for the tour, every single bassline to every video they had done....ever. Matt got the job. Love this group, love your reactions!! keep up the great times!
If it was 9 years ago, the trio would probably have been 21 (I haven't checked the exact date, but the trio were all 19 by the end of the third season of _The Sing-Off,_ in 2011). Kevin was probably 25. I still remember how awesome it was to see color television for the first time when I was a child - the sky was actually *blue* instead of gray! I'm impressed that Pentatonix picked up on that, since they're all too young to remember a time without color television.
@@TouchyReactions Always. A huge amount of research must have gone into this one, not just the color thing but starting in, when was it? The 11th century? That was 1000 years ago. Wow! This is my favorite of all their "Evolution of..." videos, just because it spans so much time, and so many genres, composers, and artists.
It just blows me away every time I see them do something live. Never let anyone say that they do anything with studio magic. The talent here just pours from the stage.
This was a great reaction. The Evolution of Music was a great Babytonix video. They were sooooo young and already amazing. The Hollywood Bowl concert has ALOT of videos. Did you know that 4 of the 5 members actually worked the ticket box office for 4 hours 20 days before the concert. I talked to someone who was there. They sold tickets, milled around the crowd and sang a few songs. How many multi platinum selling artists would take the time to do that? Btw, Kirstie was taking care of her 3 months old baby girl at the time and couldn't make it. During the concert, she was backstage with ear protection on of course. I think that, the recording contract falling through may be part of why they are so successful today. They took the money that they had won and started making youtube videos. That is how they built their fan base of millions of hard core Pentaholics. I totally agree, you really need to check out the section of this concert with Kevin's Fifth in it. It's incredible. But, you really should do it with Scott's into. He tells the story of how Kevin was contacted and joined the group. I will find the link and post another comment. Thank you again, this was wonderful. I love you both. You are a great team. Keep them coming. I will be here waiting.😸
Love your Pentatonix reactions! Some of my favs are in no particular order: Bohemian Rhapsody, Royals, Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Cheerleader, Amazing Grace, Come Along, Say Something, Christmas In Our Hearts, My Heart With You and so many more.
Babytonix! They didn’t mention this in the video but Mitch, Scott, and Kirstin have been singing together since high school. They’ve been friends for even longer (and all dated each other at one point lmao)
All of the "Evolution of..." videos are done in a single take. They perform the whole medley straight through, usually about 4 times, then pick the take that they think is the best to publish. I saw an interview with a couple of the sound engineers and they both said that the differences in the takes are usually so small it's hard to pick out, any of them could probably be used for the video. They have done Evolution of Music, Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Ariane Grande. You could do a compare with the MJ one, as they have the official video, and they also performed it live in a concert for the Popspring 2016 video - 3 original songs and EoMJ, but I think you can find videos of each of the individual songs on YT.
the daft punk music video was actually done around the same time this came out, also something to note, all of their evolution of.... videos are always live and 1 take they have evolution of beyonce, michael jackson (which they preform live in the popspring 2016 preformance along with 3 really good original songs) evolution of rihanna and ariana grande
They still do these like this. They do it three times all the way through and pick the best one. You should check out Superfruit, Mitch and Scott's channel. It's more pg and they are hysterical together. If you watch past the subscribe page you'll find bloopers. A few to watch Frozen with Kirstie (they were hammered but excellent), Defying Gravity which was Mitch's bday present to Scott, and Hip Hop goes Broadway parts 1 and 2. Just to start you off... Enjoy!❤
@@TouchyReactions try frozen with superfruit and Kirstie. You will be laughing until you cry. Both Scott and Mitch break a little in it but it just makes them human.. And funnier. You don't get live versions of them but you get bloopers and that's just as good. You know how well they sing. Defying Gravity from Wicked is a little heartbreaking but amazing. It started when they were first out of the Sing Off and were living together. They decided to do something. They do a yoga thing, ghost hunting in their haunted hotel.. Everything you can think of. Try them out. I'd go frozen for laughs.
Amazing entertaining reaction as always. I absolutely adore the Evolution of Pentatonix, it's incredible to see how many songs they have. Try reacting to their original songs, they are incredible as was Ref.
If you want boy bands, try VoicePlay's "Boy Bands in 5 Minutes." The same group does "Queen in 5 Minutes" but Pentatonix cut their teeth on their Evolution series and they have mastered the remix and mashup art.
I'm surprised apart of their Daft Punk medley wasn't in this live show. Since that was their first Grammy and arguably one of their most well-known videos.
serendipity noun 1. the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way Example: "Touchy reacts to The Evolution of Pentatonix by mistake while reacting to the Evolution of Music and then he even gets lucky enough to get that inside the of the 'wrong' video'"
Love this, Ryan and Cindy! And I loved my little shout out in the middle 🥰Yes, the reason I fell in love with "Dog Days are Over" is because I first heard PTX do it. (And, really, you should rewatch the Sing Off PTX Dog Days are Over performance. I know you can't do a reaction to it, but it is SO GOOD!!!) PTX, as you say, is perfect. Each of them is amazingly talented and they are so tight together and harmonize so well together. And pretty much every cover I hear them do, in my opinion, is better than the original. If you have a chance, also, you should see the video, "Somebody that I Used to Know" (PTX cover). I LOVE it. There was a snippet of it in here, but really, just watch the whole thing. (Also, they did a single of "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," but I don't think it's a video.) But you could totally react to "Somebody that I used to Know." ("I Can't Help Falling in Love with You" is another good cover/video that they did. And if you are looking for an original, I *love* "Be My Eyes" (another video). Fortunately, you have a lot of good material to work with in regards to PTX. I could make you an even longer list ;) You could even compare original to cover by PTX, but you might end up offending someone. Ha! (And they did Bohemian Rhapsody, as well.)
I love your reactions. I think I've watched you two react so often that I feel like we are friends! LOL. (Actually I think we would really be friends in real life; you both seem like really nice people who I have common interests with.)
Awesome reaction to a great cover of a lot of songs. And if you just want some Fun check out Wizard of Ahhhs and their original Sing. Sing is great and there's not a ton of reactions to it, it has a lot of fans and celebrities in it and it's just upbeat and fun. Please check it out.
You mentioned “Boy Bands!” Correct? Because YOU brought it up, you now NEED to react to Voiceplay “Boy Bands in 5 Minutes!” It is a great compilation!!
im commenting way too much but matt joined in 2017 so none of the songs they sang were orginally with him they were all with avi, also he isnt neccesarily new hes been in the group almost as long as avi was!

Pentatonix was the smallest and youngest of the sixteen groups that competed for Season Three, The Sing-Off. And, most amazing, they had never sung together as a group until the day before they had to audition to compete on the show. It would be really great to see all the episodes again. (3.1 to 3.15) with you. We've seen it many times before, but it's a really good show, and we'd enjoy seeing it together. Please do it! And then, PLEASE review Pentatonix' POPSPRING! 2016 (Evolution of Michael Jackson, plus three fabulous originals.)
They were amazing on the Sing Off, but you can really hear how much more polished they are today.
Absolutely 💯
