Just found ur channel, absolutely love you! I have been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and It’s so nice to see I’m not alone and I love your voice you have a very calming energy ❤
I had similar doubts that you have about going back to school after suffering a lot with my mental health. I decided to go for it and so far I have been doing very well in my classes. There was one week where my mental health suffered and I asked my professor to extend my due date on an assignment and he was very understanding. Aside from that one week, I have been doing well in school since going back. I try to stay consistent with my medication and talking to my therapist helps so much. I encourage you to apply for art school, I think you would likely have a good experience. 😊
I think your work and eye, sense of gradient of light and dark to create value is excellent! That is not easy to do, even with the actual form in front of you. I hope you chose to apply. Go slow and write your letter from your heart. Whatever content comes with writing from that place of your heart will be powerful and impactful as to why you want to attend art school. I have a feeling it will move them.
Hey Kim, thank you for sharing. The painting you did was beautiful! Please don’t put off applying. If it’s a competitive year for entry and you aren’t accepted, you’ll be able to apply again next year anyway! So why not try? If you do end up attending this year, remember not to put too much pressure or expectation on yourself. Just attending and trying your best is huge. Cut yourself some slack on not being able to attend every single day, or put 100% effort into every project when you’re dealing with fatigue or are symptomatic. Make sure to communicate about your mental illness to someone at the school (possibly your teachers) so they know and you can get a little leeway if you ever need it. Remember the whole point of studying art is to enjoy it and enrich your life. So don’t let it stress you out, that defeats the purpose! You are such a natural talent and I can only imagine how good you’ll be if you follow your passion! Good luck!
oh wow thank you! 🥹💚 and you are probably very right! I do believe that even if I don't finish it would still be a good learning experience and then I at least tried. thank you for your lovely comment! ❤️❤️
@@Kimberly_Viktoria You’re so welcome! Thank you for making videos. I’ve learned so much from you! ❤ Only you can decide what you really want or are ready to attempt, but if fear’s the only thing holding you back, I’d say at least give it a chance!
Kia ora Kimberly! I won't tell you what to do but I think go for for it! Most universities and schools offer accomodations to people who need them, and in an art school environment you think they'd be quite liberal and understanding :) also if you struggle with fatigue (it may be in part due to negative symptoms) but if it's at all medication related speak with your doctor. I remember when I was on the highest dose of geoden I could barely function and was tired all the time - now I work full time again. Your quality of life matters and you deserve to do the things you'd like to do. I think it's amazing that you live independently and take care of yourself and everything. I'm living with schizoaffective and live with my Dad currently (I'm 28 lol), but want to move out again. You're doing an awesome job in my eyes so don't forget that xx
oh thank you Madeline! ❤️ I do intend to speak with my therapist a little more about it and see what they say and as you also say. thank you for your lovely comment! 🥹💖
Hi Kimberly.... I think you are really talented with painting. Its two things really, being confident and finding your own style. I think regarding the tiredness reviewing meds can be helpful. Olanzapine made me sleep all day. I take aripiprazole now and it's totally different, I have much more energy. I know you had some uncomfortable side effects but sometimes they wane off after some time.... Its worth exploring other options of you'd like to have more energy... But I think you're doing really well... You live by yourself and have a great channel, are a blooming artist and are a great person! Keep going you're awesome and a great inspiration ❤️
oh thank you Aria! 🥹 and yes, I have thought about changing meds but I will have to talk to someone about it first ans see what they say. thank you for your lovely comment! 💖
Hi Kimberly, always enjoy watching your new videos! I think you are a very talented artist, it is normal to be nervous about trying something new, I too am like that. My advice to you is to follow your heart without overthinking it too much. Wishing you a happy week ahead :)
One day when he was still in college, Conan OBrien spent a day with comedic actor John Candy, showing him around the campus. He said to Candy, "I'm thinking about trying comedy myself." Candy stopped in his tracks and said, "Kid, there is no 'try.'"
Hi Kimberly. Great to see you again! I love you will try to be doing a vlog every weekend. Something for me to look forward to. I love your style of drawing and painting. And your paintings and sketches are beautiful! Those negative thoughts we have are a real bummer! I have gotten better over time with paying attention to them. A good book I read and still refer to that helps with that, is called "The Happiness Trap". It really helped me a lot. You did a lot today, I would be tired too! And your food always looks tasty! l also love the music you select. Best weekend abd week to you! Hugs from Mary Ann 🤗💜🌺
Maybe you can go back to art school if you are both financially and emotionally stable. In my case I went back to graduate school to pursue my passion in math. I stopped because I was both financially and emotionally unstable. I just do math privately and my efforts paid off. Now I got a book not yet published. A collection of my creative works before and after the breakdown. From 1986 of Dec. To Jan. of 2021. 34 years of had work. You can collect also your art work.
Are you allowed to start as a part-time student, even with one course at a time to begin with? If so, I would go for it, since what I’ve seen is indicative of an artist.
thank you! 🥰 and no I don't think I can just start with one course since its a program... but I could look and see if there are any other schools that does... 🤔
