    Great finds , man and you gotta love the way that hammered came up in all it's glory.
    The lead weight isn't a palm guard as they are flat to fit in your palm. Looks more like a loom weight which would have been used on cloth manufacturing machines back in the day.
    Groovy site you have there, nice one.

      Thanks Richard. I get a huge buzz when I get something like that. I was trembling. How good is this hobby, or is it a sport? lol. Good info on the weight will look that up. Why in a field though lol. The digging was great as the soil had been fluffed up nicely before sowing. I was actually very chuffed with the saxon stirrup strap as it makes you wonder what the hell happened there back in time.
      Your comment much appreciated as usual. Rich.

      RICHBISS . I normally just tell people that in the UK all sorts of stuff happened all over the place for a very long time and that's why there's so much in our fields, lol

      Hey Rich, thanks for your kind comment. Yeah strange finding that many musket balls in one small field. Dave RHS would always win a musket ball hunt, great guy. Need to get on there and do the rest of that field before they sow it. All the best, Rich.

    You had some very nice finds mate! Had to smile when you kept on finding those musket balls... I found 7 in a wood the other day ;-). Hope you mind me asking a question... A few years ago I found a curious little coin. It has 12 sides with rounded edges with a faint impression of a monarch with a crown facing left, with a 'G' equidistant from the front point of the crown to the middle. On the reverse is what appears to be a 'shield?? BUT the bottom corners look slightly like an old wheat sack. The top is straight with a line in the outside and almost central (no writing either - too worn maybe). dimensions are: 22m dia and 1mm thick. finally, the portrait looks both like Elizabeth I and Charles I. I could always send magnified photo's by email if needed. If you or any other detectorists can help, I'd be very grateful. I do have a feeling that it's shape might have been modified hence no text around it????. Glen - Doncaster

    Looks like theres been a bit of action on that field the amount of musket balls.You finding some old interesting items that buckle lovely and a hammy Canny hunt.Your machine doesn't half get great depth looked like that buckle as 14 inch. nice one Dave

    • @RICHBISS
      @RICHBISS  10 років тому

      Cheers Dave, yeah you start thinking in your mind, what actually happened here in the past. That's 1000 years of history I have dug up there with a good array of finds. Buckle was not 14 inch lol, only thing I have ever dug from that depth is a huge plough part lol. Many thanks for your comment, much appreciated as always. All the best, Rich.

    Can I ask u a question Rich?
    On your videos u always have a perfect thumbnail, when I upload my clips I just get 3 options and they are all crap, what's the secret?
    Am new to youtubing, but pls check out my vids if u have time

    • @RICHBISS
      @RICHBISS  10 років тому

      Hi Per
      When your video is uploading you will see a pic of the three thumbnails. Below that is says something like custom thumbnail. If you click on that you can load a pic from your pc. I think it has to be 2mb or below. Hope that helps. If you are still stuck send me another message. Rich.

    • @ThatSwedishGuy
      @ThatSwedishGuy 10 років тому

      cheers rich, I didn't have that "custom thumbnail" button, but I verified my account now and got it, cheers!

    • @RICHBISS
      @RICHBISS  10 років тому

      Nice one Per. You can now take a pic of one of your finds to use as your thumbnail. Cool.
