If REI wants to insure people to watch their videos they should keep her doing their videos. She is so cute and does a fantastic job on the videos.
I really like these less scripted videos, it makes them a lot more relatable, and I personally don't like scripted humor at all, as it feels less comfortable
Is your home filled with your camping gear ? I would love to hear some reviews of your absolute favourite items and why I need too 100% buy them.
Super pumped about the hangboard and board games in the background
That's really good to know because I am probably going to by my first backpack for my first backpacking trip coming up in June and since I can't go to a store this really helps me figure out what size pack to buy.
I just bought my first bag ever. Osprey 75 and I absolutely love it 😍
You are a fresh breeze of air! I love your style!
Your the best. Thank you. This helps me size my son for camping and hiking trips.
Very helpful. Thanks
Thank you for the tips
You are very welcome 💚
Very helpful!
My GF is very petite. The only pack that fit was the REI Flash. Great pack.
Richmond misses you Miranda, good work here!
Yay for cat making it into the video: What is her/his name? Stay safe and sane at home.
Yes
Oscar.
Great video and hopefully helps when I finally get one. Also, I spy those MTG decks!!!
She's so cute :)
Beautiful house btw😊
I blindly bought my first pack, selecting one that a few people recommended. They were all tiny, it looked like I was wearing a child's bookbag. I never considered size for some reason.
Very helpful thank you
Great to hear! Thanks for watching, Steve. 😁👍
Nice Video! Thanks for uploading. Can't wait to see more 😊
hello! I'm trying to figure out whats the best size bag for my gf and I, she doesnt want her own so it would be the one to carry stuff for both of us! It will be for mainly day hikes! nothing longer than a day, specifically were going to yellowstone and would like to know the perfect size for 2 people for day hikes. thank you!
It would be nice if you could tell us where the measurements are taken on the pack because I picked up one at a yard sale that is adjustable torso but nowhere is info on where you take/place the measurements on the pack.
Hi Clarence! This will depend on the brand of the pack. I encourage you to look at the brand’s guidelines on sizing and applying it to your pack. Be prepared for some trial and error! - Miranda
why do i measure my hip width at the widest point, when i am wearing my hip belt on top of the hip bones? shouldnt i measure there?
Annoyingly when I measure my torso and my hips they come up very different pack sizes... this is not helping (sad camper sounds).
If my torso length dictates one size but my hip width dictates a different size, which should I go with?
Hi Rob! Choose a pack with an adjustable torso and hip belt. For incremental differences, choose something like the Osprey Atmos/Aura or Gregory Paragon/Maven. For more drastic size differences, look for something with an interchangeable hip belt - like REI’s Traverse Series, or the Osprey Aether/Ariel. Keep in mind that you will need to purchase the replacement hip belt separately or talk with someone at REI’s Help Center. I hope this helps! - Miranda

Hi! This is very nice, but in case that the manufacturer does not provide fitting sizes, how do you match your body land marks with the backpack itself? Meaning, I have seen several videos talking about how to obtain your torso length, but none indicating what are the two landmarks that should match in the backpact itself. I am trying at the store the backpact, but it seems to slida up my from my hip to my waist everytime a tighten my shoulder straps or walks a few steps...
Bottom landmark for example, should it be from the middle of the hip belt, bottom, top?
And maybe the most difficult one, the point matching your C7, should it be the point were the shoulder straps are attached to he pack itself? It is the only fixed point I can imagine that will not change with any adjustment (except for packs with torso adjustment that is).
Hopefully you can help me out here as I am going crazy trying to find a suitable backpack, it is a pain in the neck as I am a rather small guy (5'3")
This should help, Pablo! bit.ly/3GSHKEa
We're also happy to help/demonstrate fit in any of our stores.
An excerpt from my end of a call to the REI helpline:
"Instead of extra small through medium, why are there no large or extra large packs for women?"
[...]
"No, I don't have a girlfriend. Why do you ask?"
Can you show your cat on videos more please
the only thing this video taught me is that sizing is vane af (why do men's start with small and women's xs? what's the point) and that companies are SEVERELY lacking in size inclusion. Fat people like to move their bodies too. When the hell are we going to have some representation?
Hi Alyssa - you are right about this. It's disappointing, but big changes are coming. Gregory just launched a series of plus-size packs that are due to release this spring - keep an eye out! - Miranda

i dont know where you studied anatomy and i dont know what vertebra that is you are referring to, but i know it is not C7. C7 is much higher up on your neck. it is the highest one you can feel with your hand.
please clarify your method.
What is she talking about again? Something about backpacks?
You're gorgeous
