Barring a misplay, there's no world Stridebreaker Phase Rush Garen dies to a Shen and 0/6 Nid. If the play fails, and even if it succeeds, the tower will most likely fall as well. The play is for Nid to just go botside, all her camps are up there anyway. No need to contest Garen.
Glad you posted this. I always felt like i struggle hard into garen matchup. Luckily i rarely face one in high diamond -low master but when i do idk. It feels like i play kinda perfectly, blocking Q with W, but still garen can just walk up, press E, W if you try to punish aswell and still outtrade you. But appearently you are struggling into it too, glad i'm not alone :D Cheers.

Garen W passive giving upto 30 Armor and MR based on cs, giving full bonus on 150 cs and grants ontop of 10% Bonus AR and MR similar to Ornn passive and the active granting both a burst shield and 30% DR makes it so winning short trades is yeezy, also provides great utility due to the anti cc (seriously, the thing gives so much tenacity on a perfectly timed W that Morgana Q lasts like 0.75 sec instead of the full 3 secs) Garen E after proccing 6 times applies Armor shred which stacks on top of Black Cleaver, making it able for Garen to just brutalize armor stackers. Garen R means your effective HP is always at 70% of what your healtbar is. If you think you won a short trade versus Garen, you didn't, his passive+Doran's Shield+That one green rune that lets you regen faster for being hit means you will never kill him by short trades. Garen is best when put on a War of Attrition, if you want to kill Garen, you have to extended trade him because Garen CDs early are pretty high (8 secs on Q, above 10 secs for E) and has to rely on auto attacks after he uses his entire rotation. Hopefully this helps with the Garen matchup, I also love playing Shen and he is my pocket pick when its an awful Garen lane matchup.
Yessssss, I've been running Sundered First and finding HUGE success in my games. The healing and damage combined with the ability haste feels so good. I definitely have to try Anathema's early to pick up some cheeky kills with the reduced enemy tenacity sometime!

@@ReicherKilla Here's some forbidden Shen technology for you. When you buy Frost get Berserker Greaves. With the increased atk speed enemies won't be able to kite you. Only go Beserker IF you buy Frost. Into Garen...yes I would go Beserker along with the items I mentioned. Once you have all the items I mentioned go Tiamat. Once you have that and you have Anathema stacking you should be able to beat Garen in a 1 v 1 duel to the death..assuming he isn't massively ahead of you. You won't be able to kill him since he'll just run away but he shouldn't be touching your tower. Here's the order of what you should buy. Also NEVER give Garen a solo kill on you. Just recall. 1.Bami Cinder 2.Frost 3.Anathema. 4.Tiamat. 5.Beserker Greaves

Then when he does his spinning attack, do a few empowered autos then taunt back while he's spinning. I'm not sure how effect Merc treads are against Garen. But you only get Beserker greaves if you get Frost, otherwise it's pointless.

I have tried this ignit, tp setup. it works so well in lane! The downsides of not having ghost & flash means I got to have a much better positioning and map awareness for gank. But once I hv an advantage I can abuse top lane with shorter cd and forcing them to use the escape summoner spell early game.

Shaco gave huge value to his team, and Nidalee was so far behind it was basically a 4v5. You still had a chance to win, and huge props to your team for hanging in there for as long as you did. But there is a reason that 4v5 wins are rare. GGs regardless

I'm OTP Garen (Yes, I know it seems ridiculous but I already hate playing different champions so I took the easy way out as some would say) and I can say that there are 3 things that make Garen difficult, HP, ranged champions and Shields, in that morder. For a Garen is very difficult to kill champions who stack HP, like Mundo, who have many shields like Riven with eclipse or Yone with Shieldbow or champions with a lot of range like Kayle, I have stomped Shen and I have lost against Shen, and I can say that The most difficult are the ones that buy first item HP (Sunfire or hearthsteel) from what I just said above, Shen fulfills 2 of the things that most complicate Garen, in addition to the fact that W can block Garen's Q. The correct way to play Shen against Garen is to push as much as possible, ult a teammate and return with TP before Garen damages your tower, that way he will not have any impact throughout the Early Game and Mid Game.
Jayce and Kayle if you are good at kiting Mordekaiser for an easy matchup in the early game but not so much in late game Darius to counter his passive, garen wont be coming out with more HP than you after trades Wukong can also easily fvck up his R in lower elos
Although you lost it's good to know Garen is trouble in all elos. You don't know how many times I heard people say Garen struggles is solely low elo. Makes you feel like ass when you lose to him but man his kit is pretty busted for being so braindead and simple.
Sometimes you're just having a bad game, he actually did good in the laning phase, the problem was some macro mistakes which he recognized. Happens to even the best of the best. At least he's honest, and showing bad games so we can learn with him is something admirable.

I'm a noob but maybe sacrofice a wave and don't let garen proxy. He has no tp so forcing backs could be better for you as making him lose more. Just an idea

My biggest problem with Garen is even if you're up 50-75 cs and 3 levels he will get 2 items and run you down anyway.

To beat Garen I suggest going Bami Cinder, into Frost and then into Anathema. With these items and you not being far behind you can beat him 1 v 1.

Comp was hugge diff here. The only win condition was Yone but the have so much cc that if Yone enter he stay cced for years.
