I haven't made this chutney for years but making this video reminded me how good this recipe is, it's great for Christmas but would work well in a number of dishes, I think I might try it with some warm baked camembert 😋

Great choice of music. Nice tip on the natural pectin in the fruit binding with the sugar. You are right this would be good with some camembert.... I didn't think about putting saffron in this chef...You know I love star anise... This won't last long in my house chef.... Beautiful recipe. I think If I lived closer I would invite myself to your house for Thanksgiving.
I did it and it's great. I wonder if I could make it using only apples, which I have a lot of and I've already run out of pears. Thank you for a great recipe
Hello and thanks for the feedback, apples are ok with this recipe but be careful which apples you use, a nice crisp eating apple is best like Granny Smith or Pink Lady, cooking apples like Bramley break down and you end up with a purée rather than a chutney. As a side note I served this chutney with a stuffed belly of pork last week and it was amazing 😊😃👍

Mhmm sounds perfect for a turkey sandwich using Thanksgiving leftovers 😋 great recipe!
Thank you very much and great choice, I’m going to try some in sausage rolls that I make every Xmas 😋👨🍳👍
Nice recepy, I want to try this. How many ml of chutney does this approximately makes?
Thanks for the feedback, I didn’t weigh the end product but I go 3 large jars of chutney from this recipe, I reckon 900gm
For those who don’t want to put alcohol what other vinegar would work well?
It’s just some acidity to cut through the sweetness, I always use lemon juice as a substitute for wine or vinegar, or you could try rice vinegar 👨🍳😀
