G’day from London UK mate! I’ve got the flat track version, in black, the best looker of the range(IMO!), bought it last summer, used, 3 years old with less than a 1000 miles on her. I bloody love this little bike, I’m gettin’ on a bit now (71!! How the hell did that suddenly happen, without my consent?) I’ve had my share of heavyweight bikes, this little guy has got plenty of poke for me and if , God forbid, I drop it, I can pick the bugger up without breaking my bollox. Draws lots of positive comments and admiration, wherever bikers meet, to eat bacon rolls, drink tea and put the world to rights. PS. Loose the fugly lollypop mirrors and get some old school, Halcyon bar end ones, great looks, quality, form and function. Edit: for anyone tall, I’m a lanky 6’3” and although the bike looks small, the riding position is fine, not cramped up.
Always good to hear from an actual owner of a bike I have reviewed. They are a fun and good looking bike. Sadly getting older is compulsory. But being young at heart is a choice. And at 71 and riding one of these bikes, you tick that box. Are you looking forward to the 700cc version coming out?
@@RoadsOfOz haha! Yeah, I'm a biker, so I'd love a go on the new Cab 700! But my last bike was a GS800, which I sold because I really wanted a much lighter weight. So the 700 would be slipping back into the bigger bike category that I'm trying to live without ! I don't know if they are available anywhere yet. No sign in any UK dealers, not found anyone actually riding one on UA-cam.. Cheers!
@@longjonwhiteit’s a year on but I had the 500 and now 700. Just wanted to say it feels very light and I can still lean it over and use the built in grab rail to move it out and fit into a very tight garage spot. Just saying in case you’re up for a test ride. Well worth it and way more compact/lighter than the 800GS which I have ridden and moved around. FANTastIC bike. Sorry 😂
Spot on. I own a Fantic Caballero Flat Track for the Algarve Hills in Portugal, and it's a sensation. My friend owns 15 bikes including a Ninja H2, BMW GS, Harley, Ducati Multistrada, KTM Adventurer, and whenever I see him he's on his Fantic. He loves it.
Good video. Had mine for just over 2 years and almost 11,000 miles and it's been a great bike no real issues and has coped with the UK winter when I have had to use it. The fuel gauge is more of a fuel guess I just set my trip meter to 0 after filling up. Being old school I don't mind the no USB my sat nav is a 2006 road map
Most fun bike I’ve owned since I started riding back in the mid seventies. I’ve owned a lot of bikes. Reminded me why I wanted a bike. Taken if off road and it manages pretty well though it’s more suited for blasting back lanes and dry trails. Had mine two years and the nay sayers have been proven wrong about engine reliability, it’s been faultless. The 700 is going to be heavier and more serious, if you think you need that, then you will miss out on what this one has to offer because more power won’t make it better, it will just make you wish you’d bought a more touring based machine.
I am looking forward to seeing it in person. Hoping to get a test ride when they arrive. It was a lot of fun to ride on would be high on my list for a fun commuter.
The Caballero 500 is the type of bike that big brands like Honda do not want to release. It is nimble, enough power, sexy, cheap to maintain and affordable. I do not know if the 700 will improve the 500 because two important things: weight and affordability.
The Fantic designers sure got the look right. I am looking forward to seeing if the 700 is any good. With a Yamaha motor, I think it will attract more buyers. But time will tell.
Such a cool Italian brand that in my view, has kept to its traditional way of building bikes by using external manufacturing (ie, brakes, motor and suspension). Doing it this way has given some great results.
Ooh this is a tough one. They both look good. I have not ridden a Scrambler 400 yet. Have you seen the Caballero 700? That looks very impressive. Hope I get the opportunity to ride one.
yes, it must be something else with the Yamaha motor, myself I'm more interested in the Rally one, but I can't decide between it and the Triumph 400X as a beginner.
Very nice looking bike. With just 150 kg seems to be very light. Shame for the fuel gauge. I know how it feels when you are not sure how much you have inside. :) Not a cool thing really. Just keep it up Matt. You got my like.
When the red light turns on you still have another 70klm to empty, do no need to worry. Usually a full tank can run up to 270klm . The red light turns on at around 200k .

They are a great bike. It is good to see the owners have such a positive experience with them.
Great little bike that is capable and fun. It gets my UAV approval. Urban Assault Vehicle. Tick ✅
Looking forward to the release of the 700.

Always good to hear from owners of the bike. They are a great looking bike and alot of fun. Thanks for watching.
I also own an ft500, but i made a scrambler out of that one, i can do some off-road. Might go looking for a Caballero rally though. Looks great.
Coming into the end of the year, they will have some good sales on these bikes. If you are in Sydney, head over to Gasoline Motor Co.

Great to hear from an owner. Good to hear positive feedback about the motor.
pretty cool looking bike
Nice little bike, looks like heaps of fun 😎
I had a ball riding it.
itd be cool to see a TFT that has a display of an analogue style to make it look a little more authentic
I can see them going that way.
Nice review Matt. The 700 version with the Yamaha engine sounds like the go, either way looks great and seems like a fun little bike.
I am looking forward to seeing it in person. Hoping to get a test ride when they arrive. It was a lot of fun to ride on would be high on my list for a fun commuter.
Hey Matt. Nice review. Good middle of the road options for buyers. 👍🏼
Thanks mate. This bike suprised me with its all round road capability.
Cool looking bike! I really like the 700 too!
The 500 class bikes are surprisingly quick. You wouldn't think so, but they do the job!
Good video man!!
This motor really did surprise me. The low weight helps too.
Nice review Matty! Never heard of the Fanatic until now…..
You dont see too many around (which is a shame as they look great). I am betting you will see even more when the 700cc range hit the market.

That's actually a neat looking bike. Good review, Matt. Ride well. Cheers
I know right. I was very impressed. The 700 should be an absolute hit here in Australia.
Nice one Matt, such a great bike 👌🏍
Thanks mate. I have been interested to see what they are like since I saw your vid on them.
Tidy unit Matt, great review mate 😎👍🏼
Thanks Bert.
Awesome review 👏 👌
Thanks.
It is quite a looker, I am interested to see the 700 in the flesh too
Same here. I think it will do very well here.
i remember riding a Fantic Trials bike
nice review once again!
Thanks mate.
I've never heard of the Fantic Caballero? It sure looks like a good budget bike.

Nice work Matty, XSR 700 motor is exciting
Hope I get to test ride it. It looks like a great bike.
I am a total beginner and I have been considering this bike. Do you think it is a good choice? I like it so much.
It is a very good choice if you are starting out.
what do you think between Caballero 500 and Triumph Scrambler 400X?

I went with the fantic rally 500 love it, feels like alittle Rino.

Thanks mate. It was a very light bike which made it so much fun to flick around.
@@RoadsOfOz Nice to hear. I get it. :)

When will this bike launch in india?
Sorry, I have no idea. But maybe contact Fantic.
@@RoadsOfOz coz I want it so badly
I switched off at 2:20 because of the background music.
its nore Scrambler than Off Road Touring so can see why no USB to keep cost down a but more
They have an off road version. Also the 700cc version is due out soon. Looking forward to seeing that.
The Rally is built for off road. go check some reviews, it's highly capable....
not The Fantic
Not the uninformed youtube commenter !!
