I have had too many storage sheds in my time - and I wouldn't have wanted to give up any of the things those storage sheds enabled. I have exactly that same oil drain container - and I've had exactly the same thing happen with the bolt. Massive design flaw! Enjoyed the vid mate, great work on the GPZ!
Thanks for that. I hired a storage shed to give me more space in the garage and now I have filled that space. I now need more a larger storage shed to make room in the garage. I am seeing a bad cycle here.
I absolutely adore that gpz. I'd absolutely love one one day, getting the small things ticked off is always nearly the hardest imo. The big jobs I don't mind going after :D Classic bolt, jumping to the MOST inconvenient place it could. Don't bloody tempt me with a parts washer :D
I put off getting a parts washer for some time. I would have bought a larger one, but lack of space prevented me from doing so. Here in Australia, GPZ's are quite affordable compared to other bikes of the same era. It is weird, especially with the release of Top Gun Maverick. I thought the GPZ would go up in value (especially the GPz900r), but this has not been the case.
You sure knoccked off a bunch of tasks on this episode. I've always wanted a parts washer and never purchased one. I'm looking forward to your review on it. I don't think there's a single person that hasn't dropped the oil drain bolt into the oil pan. 😂 I keep a magnet on a stick for that reason. Good one, Matt.
As convenient as those containers are. This is the only downside to them. I still prefer them to an open pan though. I did not think to use my magnet. But will try it next time. Thanks for the tip.
Love the storage shed 😂😂😂 wait does Mrs roads of Oz know what’s in there 😂😂😂 You know my feelings on the GPZ ❤ It’s the little things right, ticked off the list, so satisfying!!! Awesome vid x
I had one when I was a teenager (early 90's). It was an impulse buy during lockdown. 80/90's Kawasaki's in Australia are quite cheap compared to their Suzuki competition of the same era.
In my opinion it is a great looking bike and in your case it also seems to be in very good condition. These here and there jobs are crucial. After you are done you can sleep better. :) Nice video Matt. Enjoyed. Are you gonna change the spark plugs too?
@@RoadsOfOz I see. This is how it is when you start checking everything. But this is something that you do with pleasure. Can check my community tab when you can. Cheers Matt.
Great tip. I was tempted to pressure wash the part before putting it in the parts washer. I went through a can of degreaser to get it to the parts washer stage.
Kawasaki’s sound so good.
Yes they do...
This exhaust is loud. Was thinking of getting something a little less noisy. I must be getting old.

Great video Matt. Yep, I’ve done that with the sump plug, lol.
Thanks for that.
Sadly, I have had the sump plug fall in before. You think I would have learned. 🤦

Yes. She even as a key. I have played hide the bike before. It never ends well (for me).
Once it is done, I'll bring it on a group ride.
@ sound awesome ❤️ yes, it never ends well 😂😂😂
That bike just shouts 80s. Wanted one back then but couldn't afford it. Sensible mod on the breather.

Battery going flat on the Gopro already....oh how often we've all said that😊. That's not an oil leak, that's character. Good work, Matt. Cheers
Battery always goes flat at worst possible times.
A few drops of oil is character, but this was way too much character for my liking.
@RoadsOfOz OK, it's Grumpy Old Character 🤪
Great video mate. Loved seeing those little jobs getting checked off.
Yeah me too. There are times my motivation is lacking. This should have been back on the road months ago. But I'll just keep plodding along with it.
You’re making me tired with all this productivity… I don’t have the stamina, nor know-how to get all this done! ✌️
I need to spend more time riding than in the garage.
As for know how. It is all trial and error for me (with a big emphasis on error).
Always good to get those pesky jobs sorted and up to date 👌
Yeah mate. Motivation has been lacking. It should have been done by now and I should be out riding it. Need to pull my finger out.
Good effort mate keep her in good Nick she’s a beast and the parts washer is a game changer 👍🏻
I have been wanting to get a washer for ages. Finally just pulled the pin on it. Glad i did.
@ absolutely a wicked thing mate i keep getting in trouble using the dishwasher hehe dont see a problem with it myself 🍺
How many times have we all done that with the sump bolt! 😀
Nice update vid Matt 🙂
Too many that I would be prepared to admit to.🤦
@RoadsOfOz 🤣

The spark plugs were changed less than 1000 kilometers ago. But there are plenty of other things that need top be done.

Pro tip to keep your parts washer fluid and pump lasting longer, scrap as much shit off as you can before you use it. Don’t ask me how I know 😖
Great tip. I was tempted to pressure wash the part before putting it in the parts washer. I went through a can of degreaser to get it to the parts washer stage.
How did the parts washer perform on the sprocket cover Matt?
@@banditnev done well. But I spent about 90 minutes cleaning it as the grime was stuck solid to it. I’ll put out a review in the next few weeks.
Don't drop your nuts.
Too late.
