@@Fvillalba8 I am not going to argue really much with You on this, because it will simply become a battle of opinions at that point, but yes, H.P Lovecraft was an inspiration behind the Old Gods. All their mighty names and looks, the ability to manipulate mind and control their victims; the priests and followers, the cults- it is all inspired by Old Ones. I mean you have to admit, they are referencing Lovecraft's creations pretty obviously. In no way it is a rip-off of his novels and clearly they are less anime than they are lovecraftian. The last expansion was almost entirely engulfed in it with it's cultists and witches and Underwater world where N'zoth was imprisoned. And obviously, I did't mean the "friends and love" as part of it, though. I don't know why you brought that in to this.
Nah Bliz will probably kill him off or something, like a Varian Wrynn-type sacrifice before that happens. But, probably not for a while -- Sylvanas still has all of her story line ahead, even if players won't mind seeing her go...

They did the same injustice to N'zoth as they did with Deathwing. Both thrown in the garbage. But at least Deathwing had an expansion (solid until 4.2, 4.3 was an embarassing end). N'zoth was introduced and dealt with in 1 week. It hurts. Where's the LOVE and PASSION in the Warcraft franchise anymore =/
have you seen the ending of Starcraft 2 ? Amon is basically killed the exact same way. The hero (kerrigan) floats in the air and throws a light beam at its forehead that makes it explode

Wonderfully said. I also miss Garrosh. He was EXACTLY what the Horde needed. His character development could have been his arc. And his Hellscream Legacy. I don't know how Blizzard makes their decisions, but I feel they threw Garrosh away too soon.
I feel like blizz first ment garrosh to lead for a long time and when the fans went warming up to him instead of doing character development they made him a villain. No proof just a thought.
How the final boss of an expansion that was supposed to focus on the conflict between the Alliance and Horde became an Old God, I will never know. Honestly, I feel like 99% of the problems with BFA stemmed from the fact that Blizzard never understood what its identity was. Like it is about the Fourth War or a weird end of the world scenario. We may never know.
The amount of times that the Horde & Alliance were in a war only to stop briefly to kill an old god is somewhere of too many (Classic (C'thun) WOTLK [Alliance declared war after the events of Wrathgate] Yog-Saraon) Battle For Azeroth (N'zoth & G'huun) and one could argue that the Siege of Orgrimmar could be counted as the second death of Y'sharaj or at least an extension of his death with the heart of Y'sharraj being a major factor in Garrosh's shenanigans towards the end) like there has been next to no originality in the way that they get defeated
I don't get it. "Since she has been wounded by the Mad Titan, Azeroth has been crying" and then "today at last she's free from the Old Gods grasp". What does one have to do with the other? Why is Azeroth suddenly all better? N'Zoth didn't have anything to do with the giant sword that's still there. He wasn't even a threat in this expansion until he got freed in 8.2. :D
I agree 100%. Sad to see N'zoth introduced and dealt with in a week. He's done more behind the events of WoW than other villains who've gotten more screentime .Still hoping for a mythic ending, but the thing is the cutscene would be ok (pushing it), if N'zoth didn't just get vaporized. We needed some dialogue, something from Wrathion, something to tie to Shadowlands. Some closure, ANYTHING. Not just YER A CHAMPION OF AZEROTH!!!! Where's the PASSION and love they used to have for the Warcraft franchise. You can tell when something has heart and soul put into it and when something is thrown out there for a quick buck.

Sargeras (the mad titan) was trying to destroy her because of the old gods. Since the old gods are no more (this means all the previously defeated are dead per canon) Azeroth is free so maybe now Sargeras will stop trying to destroy Azeroth. N'zoth was attempting to harvest and suck the Azerite out of Azeroth in turn weakening her further. The sword may still be there but we put a stop to the wound essentially at the end of Legion with our artifact weapons etc. She no longer has a leech (N'zoth) draining her. At least this is what I make of it.

When we just pushed C'Thun and Yogg Back into their prisons, since it was just a fraction of their Power? ... well now the Master of deathwing gets Killed in 1 patch and the other gods have been retconned to be completly dead... guess the whole deal of "kill them and it will be a giant catastrophy, so lets imprision them" is retconned too

I am so confused. I thought the Old Gods were so extremely powerful they couldn’t be killed, and if they were killed it would be a bigger “catastrophe” so we just put them in prisons. But now N’zoth gets killed by an anime move?
@George Gombas So technically speaking, we are the minimally-invasive surgery method that uses small incisions to avoid major mishandling of delicate systems. Still, the way they put it feels rather cheap. Like my script and storyboard professor uses to say: "it's not what your story is about that makes it interesting, it's *how* you tell." Solving long-running problems with anime beams is a cheap and lazy move, it banalizes all the effort taken to fix something too complicated to be over and done with in such a short period of time, it doesn't feel rewarding or as important as it should be. That's not clever nor cool, it only denounces how consistency and common sense go right over the writer's head.
If Blizz is smart and listens to how poorly the player base feels Ny'alotha was handled, they'll keep true to Warthion's words about trusting perceptions. The best thing for them to do is have the Visions of N'zoth patch in its entirety be a Vision, and that he's still alive and kicking. If we do kill an Old God, they deserve a much better send off than what we got
It's sad to see through all those years what World of Warcraft became. The game, the lore and his characters. A whole developers team was changed and you can see the difference. You live enough to see yourself becoming the villain.

The huge thing about Lovecraftian works that people often don't think about, the less details the better and that there's no real way to show it. We simply can't produce and multi-reality layered image that would break human minds. The build up of the old gods was always going to be better than their presence. There was just no way to accurately show Ny'alotha or N'zoth.

It was Wrathion who helped Garrosh escape his trial to alternate Draenor alongside the bronze dragon (who's name I can't remember) which eventually led to the legion invading Azeroth
I can just imagine hearing Garrosh reeeee from the Shadowlands like that upon Vulpera in the Horde. Poor guy already wasn't happy with the other non-orcs, this one must be an even bigger insult to his pride :P

I havn't played since Nazjatar, which was already a huge disappointment in both quantity and quality, but this scene with Wrathion and the dagger gave me INSTANT flashbacks of GoT to Arya with the Night King... This whole arch was thrown to the trash. So much terrifying lore and hints over the years to N'Zoth's/Old God power and he ends up killed in the most lackluster manner. At least Yogg'Saron had a fantastic fight and glorious raid to get through first. Can't say the same here.
This is what happens when you spend years building something up. From here where does blizzard go? Azeroth matures into a titan and we get sent to another planet? I wonder what the playerbase would have done if they had Ny'alotha be an entire expansion and N'zoth span multiple raids. Each patch would be working towards quelling the void threat and breaking the armor of N'zoth to get inside him. Sort of like how Quel'danas was in BC.
Honestly, Ny'alotha should have been its own expansion. Same with Argus. But at least Argus 7.3 was done quite well. Here we don't even get Nyalotha as a zone. Just some dailies in uldum and Pandaria. And N'zoth was behind so MANY events. I keep saying the same thing but it's becoming a trend now. @@Athelarius I want to throw my hope into the bag. Here is to hoping that Blizzard still has the black empire and Ny'alotha reserved for the void lords and when they try another attack on Azeroth. Unless Azeroth fully matures (and no longer remains a planet but a full blow titan) she can still be turned by the void lords. All they have to do is launch another attack. This one can be done by the Ethereal since we now have the means to slay the old gods/new gods. This way the old underground maps from Wrath that were never used can be useful. As long as the void lords are out there, the black empire is not truly gone.
My hope is that we get an old god who's actually smart. Someone who's not only described as devious, but genuinely cunning. They're all about corruption, right? What if there was an Old God who bribed players? Not corrupting them with the forces of darkness, but with best-in-slot PvE gear, EXP boosts to characters on an entire account, unique battle pets, and more? All you have to do is raid a faction's town or city once in awhile, nothing that could *possibly* change the outcome of the entire world, so what's the harm in being a bit evil? Then, five months later, we find out that because a majority of players opted for it, the baddie actually wins as a result of twisting us. Eh, I can dream.
Void Lords sent the Old Gods to Azeroth and other planets to corrupt them. If they want to bring another Old God into the fold all Blizzard needs to do is have an event happen in the cosmos where a new one that’s far more powerful than the last lot arrives on Azeroth to launch a new expansion.
Man, Tyrande has become so fueled by vengeance she has become little more than what Maiev was when she was hunting Illidan, This is even furthur build upon when she goes after Sylvanas in the shadowlands and cries out "Tor illi'sar felenori". That was Maievs 'catchphrase' if you will.
I wouldn't have minded a "furry" race if it was like some kinda lion, tiger, saber based race. But adding cute anime foxes is NOT Warcraft. It's purely marketing at this point. Garrosh was what the Horde needed. Up until cataclysm at least, before they had him go mad in MoP for a loot pinata.

There should have been one additional content patch. The invasions should have been more wide-spread(as in more of them) and should have been their own patch, with more of N'zoth's Minions going to work. Maybe bring back Cho'gal and some other big names.(Old Gods can bring people back from the dead) Maybe some 5-man's and Quick-Raid Bosses. The Badlands should have been one of the invasion zones with a new Heroic/Mythic Uldaman, where we find the real Archaedas slumbering as N'zoth's Minions try to corrupt him, only for him to become an Ally like Ra'den. Ny'alotha should have been a quest zone introduced in the final patch along with "The Waking City" as the raid.

WoW has been a haven for furries since the beginning. Roll a tauren or a worgen on Moonguard if you want to meet them. Nice people. Half the guilds on that server are solely dedicated to furry roleplay (the other half are overly serious night elf and orc military guilds). That doesn't happen overnight. It didn't start with Mists of Pandaria, or with Cataclysm. I started in Wrath, and a lot of those guilds were there already. I was young enough not to be prejudiced when a nice person approached me and asked me if I wanted to roleplay a romance between our characters. I'd rolled a Tauren because I liked that the females were large and intimidating. Yeah, he was a furry. I said sure, why not. That was the only positive romantic roleplay experience I've had. Most erpers just want a quick fap. They don't care about making a good story, and they certainly won't respect their partner's boundaries. But you know what I learned? furries are all about the roleplay. That story is what's important to them, it's what they get off on. I wasn't getting off, but that hardly meant I couldn't enjoy the story we were telling. And this guy didn't want my rl photo, or my facebook, or my phone number. He wasn't going to creep on me. I've had to end online romances I was genuinely enjoying because the dude couldn't stop himself from crossing my boundaries. This guy liked my avatar, he wasn't interested in my real life not-covered-in-silver-fur body. So, I'll stand up for the furries until the end, even though I'm not one of them: because they were the ones who were good to me. You wouldn't judge a restaurant you'd never been to, so don't judge a community you've never met.

Never been a fan of how Warcraft lore turned to stargate/Starcraft to its core. It kills the fantasy and immersion when a diamond dwarf interact with a giant hologram made by space titans. I means it’s potentially cool but it has a way different tone what Warcraft started as.
right, because Warcraft was never about cosmic forces and space creatures. Oh wait...Warcraft I was about space orcs invading the planet, and Fel versus Light. The various cosmic forces defined the different factions in Warcraft I, II, and III. This was always the core of Warcraft. Wrathion uses the dagger that once held Xal'atath. Now he has absorbed part of N'Zoth and/or his "essence". What happened to the dagger has not been mentioned yet. Now in Dragonflight we have Xal'atath again, who received the essence of Galakrond from Iridikron. As things stand, Wrathion is looking for Iridikron, which could potentially lead to major problems. Wrathion has the dagger containing N'zoth's essence and falls into a trap. This means that Xal'atath then has the essence of both N'Zoth and Galakrond and can use the Void to create something new from it. In other words, a fifth god is created in this way.
That moment when Blizzard doesn't know how to wrap shit up and a writer happens to watch DragonBall on his day off and that idea gets into the final draft of the story for BFA....

Let me take a wild stab at future expansions : After the whole shadowlands business, we return to find the scourge no longer in check and have another sort of WotLK expansion, hold the lich king. But as soon as we're done with that, the Burning Legion makes another comeback with Tyrande swapping sides and joining them, thus becoming an end boss. After that hell train of an expansion, Anduin will become a full grown man and Greymane will notice that Anduin no longer needs his counsel, therefore becoming an obsolete character. Meanwhile, some bullshit happens throughout the world and a rift between worlds opens up, unleashing the Kardashians into the world of Azeroth. The Kardashians play nice with Anduin in order to host a reality show that will have horrible ratings, forcing Jaina to turn against Anduin and seeking to overthrow him with the help of us, the players. Anduin becomes the final boss who will eventually get decimated by our wrath and the Kardashians are shoved back in to that unexplained rift, returning to the real world. Did I mention the new class for this expansion? Failed TV show star, completely useless in fights, no useful traits and no playability whatsoever...
So one of the biggest artefacts got ripped apart with bare hands by sylvanas and we killed nzoth in like a week. Ok. I don't believe that. An illusion... what are you hiding?!
2023 - Dragonflight in itself is trying to recover the injury caused by BFA. Hints of the old gods finally returning in full (Such a retcon). They need to get this xpac right

especially given what could've been, Ny'alotha should've been like Argus with everyone coming in to help stop N'zoth(especially the army of the light, you know the mortal enemy of the void/old gods who would suffer greatly if Azeroth was turned void) and perhaps instead of beaming N'zoth to death have us use the heart to awaken Azeroth herself and get cinematic where she beats the crap out of Zoth, just a thought.
I left wow a little before the end of legion because of College, I thought after a few months I would come back but couldn't because of reasons, but after watching how this expansion developed now I'm not so sure... this feels like WOD all over again...
Aside from snorting at the ending, I have to say everything else just hurt to watch. I agree with the comments on BFA and seeing WoW having turned into little more than a cash grab is immensely heartbreaking as a long time fan.

The best Horde was the Horde under Garrosh in Cataclysm. They could've used his Hellscream legacy for great character development. As was shown in Stonetalon, he had great sympathy and in SIlverpine, how he called Sylvanas' experiment an abomination against nature. I don't know why they made the decision to throw away Garrosh but he could've been the best warchief and great character in contrast with Varian/Anduin.
The poor taste of this culminates in a poorly done parody-like Sauron reference knock-off. God, this is bad. Thanks for delivering this on youtube. Also, GARROSH DID NOTHING WRONG, AND NEITHER DID SYLVANAS.

“My father is dead because of you”.... boi, yo father is dead because he sacrificed himself to give King Gilneas werewolf boy to escape the Legion. He died an entire expansion ago. What does Wrathion have to do with it?
The Legion was there in the first place because of Wrathion, he helped free Garrosh, caused WoD which is worth being drawn and quartered alone, and gave Gul'Dan the opportunity to start Legion.
@@Kozuu7 Basically this. WoD happened because Wrathion set Garrosh free, and the Bronze Dragon that helped got killed by Garosh. Then Legion happened because WoD happened. Anduin isn't entirely wrong to hold Wrathion responsible for Varian's death.

@@yalsha4686 He gets it from Aszhara. It's also not possessed; it was a prison for Xal'atath and now she's free of it. It's a prison again and Wrathion has stabbed it into N'Zoth. So now a sliver of him is inside it.

@@Fvillalba8 I am not going to argue really much with You on this, because it will simply become a battle of opinions at that point, but yes, H.P Lovecraft was an inspiration behind the Old Gods. All their mighty names and looks, the ability to manipulate mind and control their victims; the priests and followers, the cults- it is all inspired by Old Ones. I mean you have to admit, they are referencing Lovecraft's creations pretty obviously. In no way it is a rip-off of his novels and clearly they are less anime than they are lovecraftian. The last expansion was almost entirely engulfed in it with it's cultists and witches and Underwater world where N'zoth was imprisoned. And obviously, I did't mean the "friends and love" as part of it, though. I don't know why you brought that in to this.

Unlikely, in the comics Anduin makes it to like 80 at least - and we've seen him grow up. I think they want to a very long character development with visual aging.

Wonderfully said. I also miss Garrosh. He was EXACTLY what the Horde needed. His character development could have been his arc. And his Hellscream Legacy. I don't know how Blizzard makes their decisions, but I feel they threw Garrosh away too soon.
I feel like blizz first ment garrosh to lead for a long time and when the fans went warming up to him instead of doing character development they made him a villain.

How the final boss of an expansion that was supposed to focus on the conflict between the Alliance and Horde became an Old God, I will never know. Honestly, I feel like 99% of the problems with BFA stemmed from the fact that Blizzard never understood what its identity was. Like it is about the Fourth War or a weird end of the world scenario. We may never know.
The amount of times that the Horde & Alliance were in a war only to stop briefly to kill an old god is somewhere of too many (Classic (C'thun) WOTLK [Alliance declared war after the events of Wrathgate] Yog-Saraon) Battle For Azeroth (N'zoth & G'huun) and one could argue that the Siege of Orgrimmar could be counted as the second death of Y'sharaj or at least an extension of his death with the heart of Y'sharraj being a major factor in Garrosh's shenanigans towards the end) like there has been next to no originality in the way that they get defeated
I don't get it. "Since she has been wounded by the Mad Titan, Azeroth has been crying" and then "today at last she's free from the Old Gods grasp". What does one have to do with the other? Why is Azeroth suddenly all better? N'Zoth didn't have anything to do with the giant sword that's still there. He wasn't even a threat in this expansion until he got freed in 8.2. :D

I agree 100%. Sad to see N'zoth introduced and dealt with in a week. He's done more behind the events of WoW than other villains who've gotten more screentime .Still hoping for a mythic ending, but the thing is the cutscene would be ok (pushing it), if N'zoth didn't just get vaporized. We needed some dialogue, something from Wrathion, something to tie to Shadowlands. Some closure, ANYTHING. Not just YER A CHAMPION OF AZEROTH!!!! Where's the PASSION and love they used to have for the Warcraft franchise. You can tell when something has heart and soul put into it and when something is thrown out there for a quick buck.

Sargeras (the mad titan) was trying to destroy her because of the old gods. Since the old gods are no more (this means all the previously defeated are dead per canon) Azeroth is free so maybe now Sargeras will stop trying to destroy Azeroth. N'zoth was attempting to harvest and suck the Azerite out of Azeroth in turn weakening her further. The sword may still be there but we put a stop to the wound essentially at the end of Legion with our artifact weapons etc. She no longer has a leech (N'zoth) draining her.

@George Gombas So technically speaking, we are the minimally-invasive surgery method that uses small incisions to avoid major mishandling of delicate systems. Still, the way they put it feels rather cheap. Like my script and storyboard professor uses to say: "it's not what your story is about that makes it interesting, it's *how* you tell." Solving long-running problems with anime beams is a cheap and lazy move, it banalizes all the effort taken to fix something too complicated to be over and done with in such a short period of time, it doesn't feel rewarding or as important as it should be. That's not clever nor cool, it only denounces how consistency and common sense go right over the writer's head.

If Blizz is smart and listens to how poorly the player base feels Ny'alotha was handled, they'll keep true to Warthion's words about trusting perceptions. The best thing for them to do is have the Visions of N'zoth patch in its entirety be a Vision, and that he's still alive and kicking. If we do kill an Old God, they deserve a much better send off than what we got
It's sad to see through all those years what World of Warcraft became. The game, the lore and his characters. A whole developers team was changed and you can see the difference. You live enough to see yourself becoming the villain.

@Holden Mcgroine What Cataclysm did was make questing way easier than before by making quest hubs. The only good thing about Cata was raiding.
But its a mmorpg, it should take an effort to get things. Nowadays you are showered with items just for logging in.

The huge thing about Lovecraftian works that people often don't think about, the less details the better and that there's no real way to show it. We simply can't produce and multi-reality layered image that would break human minds. The build up of the old gods was always going to be better than their presence. There was just no way to accurately show Ny'alotha or N'zoth.

Valdrick Zellarian How? That little bitch died about a 100 years ago in AU Draenor. The strong connection to the Shadowlands is an Azeroth exclusive thing from what lore suggests.
I havn't played since Nazjatar, which was already a huge disappointment in both quantity and quality, but this scene with Wrathion and the dagger gave me INSTANT flashbacks of GoT to Arya with the Night King... This whole arch was thrown to the trash. So much terrifying lore and hints over the years to N'Zoth's/Old God power and he ends up killed in the most lackluster manner. At least Yogg'Saron had a fantastic fight and glorious raid to get through first. Can't say the same here.
This is what happens when you spend years building something up. From here where does blizzard go? Azeroth matures into a titan and we get sent to another planet? I wonder what the playerbase would have done if they had Ny'alotha be an entire expansion and N'zoth span multiple raids. Each patch would be working towards quelling the void threat and breaking the armor of N'zoth to get inside him. Sort of like how Quel'danas was in BC.
Honestly, Ny'alotha should have been its own expansion. Same with Argus. But at least Argus 7.3 was done quite well. Here we don't even get Nyalotha as a zone. Just some dailies in uldum and Pandaria. And N'zoth was behind so MANY events. I keep saying the same thing but it's becoming a trend now. @@Athelarius I want to throw my hope into the bag. Here is to hoping that Blizzard still has the black empire and Ny'alotha reserved for the void lords and when they try another attack on Azeroth. Unless Azeroth fully matures (and no longer remains a planet but a full blow titan) she can still be turned by the void lords. All they have to do is launch another attack. This one can be done by the Ethereal since we now have the means to slay the old gods/new gods. This way the old underground maps from Wrath that were never used can be useful. As long as the void lords are out there, the black empire is not truly gone.

My hope is that we get an old god who's actually smart. Someone who's not only described as devious, but genuinely cunning. They're all about corruption, right? What if there was an Old God who bribed players? Not corrupting them with the forces of darkness, but with best-in-slot PvE gear, EXP boosts to characters on an entire account, unique battle pets, and more? All you have to do is raid a faction's town or city once in awhile, nothing that could *possibly* change the outcome of the entire world, so what's the harm in being a bit evil? Then, five months later, we find out that because a majority of players opted for it, the baddie actually wins as a result of twisting us.
Eh, I can dream.
Void Lords sent the Old Gods to Azeroth and other planets to corrupt them. If they want to bring another Old God into the fold all Blizzard needs to do is have an event happen in the cosmos where a new one that’s far more powerful than the last lot arrives on Azeroth to launch a new expansion.
That cutscene with N'Zoth's defeat was so anticlimactic.
This has got to be a twist. Mabye N’zoth was just pranking us...

There should have been one additional content patch. The invasions should have been more wide-spread(as in more of them) and should have been their own patch, with more of N'zoth's Minions going to work. Maybe bring back Cho'gal and some other big names.(Old Gods can bring people back from the dead) Maybe some 5-man's and Quick-Raid Bosses. The Badlands should have been one of the invasion zones with a new Heroic/Mythic Uldaman, where we find the real Archaedas slumbering as N'zoth's Minions try to corrupt him, only for him to become an Ally like Ra'den. Ny'alotha should have been a quest zone introduced in the final patch along with "The Waking City" as the raid.

WoW has been a haven for furries since the beginning. Roll a tauren or a worgen on Moonguard if you want to meet them. Nice people. Half the guilds on that server are solely dedicated to furry roleplay (the other half are overly serious night elf and orc military guilds). That doesn't happen overnight. It didn't start with Mists of Pandaria, or with Cataclysm. I started in Wrath, and a lot of those guilds were there already.
I was young enough not to be prejudiced when a nice person approached me and asked me if I wanted to roleplay a romance between our characters. I'd rolled a Tauren because I liked that the females were large and intimidating. Yeah, he was a furry. I said sure, why not. That was the only positive romantic roleplay experience I've had.
Most erpers just want a quick fap. They don't care about making a good story, and they certainly won't respect their partner's boundaries. But you know what I learned? furries are all about the roleplay. That story is what's important to them, it's what they get off on. I wasn't getting off, but that hardly meant I couldn't enjoy the story we were telling. And this guy didn't want my rl photo, or my facebook, or my phone number. He wasn't going to creep on me.
I've had to end online romances I was genuinely enjoying because the dude couldn't stop himself from crossing my boundaries. This guy liked my avatar, he wasn't interested in my real life not-covered-in-silver-fur body. So, I'll stand up for the furries until the end, even though I'm not one of them: because they were the ones who were good to me. You wouldn't judge a restaurant you'd never been to, so don't judge a community you've never met.

N'zoth deserved better than this. They call him the "weakest" Old God, but he makes up for that in his mind & manipulation power. He's behind so many WoW events. AND he was fully freed. This is heartbreaking to see. I'm hoping there's some sort of twist. The N'zoth fight was so BLAND and WEAK compared to the rest of the raid. And the cinematic doesn't even do him justice. Hoping he wanted us to kill him, or maybe the mythic phase shows that it's all a vision/illusion. I'm grasping at straws here but it hurts to see the lore go down this route. Where's the love and PASSION that Blizzard used to have for the Warcraft franchise. Not everything is about money :(

Never been a fan of how Warcraft lore turned to stargate/Starcraft to its core. It kills the fantasy and immersion when a diamond dwarf interact with a giant hologram made by space titans. I means it’s potentially cool but it has a way different tone what Warcraft started as.

Oh wait...Warcraft I was about space orcs invading the planet, and Fel versus Light. The various cosmic forces defined the different factions in Warcraft I, II, and III. And the space shit was NOT in the beginning. It only started with TBC when Dreanor was created as a crashed spaceship. So anyone who fell in love with the lore from WC3 is NOT onboard with the space shit.
Wrathion uses the dagger that once held Xal'atath. Now he has absorbed part of N'Zoth and/or his "essence". What happened to the dagger has not been mentioned yet. Now in Dragonflight we have Xal'atath again, who received the essence of Galakrond from Iridikron. As things stand, Wrathion is looking for Iridikron, which could potentially lead to major problems. Wrathion has the dagger containing N'zoth's essence and falls into a trap. This means that Xal'atath then has the essence of both N'Zoth and Galakrond and can use the Void to create something new from it. In other words, a fifth god is created in this way.

Let me take a wild stab at future expansions : After the whole shadowlands business, we return to find the scourge no longer in check and have another sort of WotLK expansion, hold the lich king. But as soon as we're done with that, the Burning Legion makes another comeback with Tyrande swapping sides and joining them, thus becoming an end boss. After that hell train of an expansion, Anduin will become a full grown man and Greymane will notice that Anduin no longer needs his counsel, therefore becoming an obsolete character. Meanwhile, some bullshit happens throughout the world and a rift between worlds opens up, unleashing the Kardashians into the world of Azeroth. The Kardashians play nice with Anduin in order to host a reality show that will have horrible ratings, forcing Jaina to turn against Anduin and seeking to overthrow him with the help of us, the players. Anduin becomes the final boss who will eventually get decimated by our wrath and the Kardashians are shoved back in to that unexplained rift, returning to the real world. Did I mention the new class for this expansion? Failed TV show star, completely useless in fights, no useful traits and no playability whatsoever...

I wouldn't be surprised if Shadowlands has worse cutscenes
especially given what could've been, Ny'alotha should've been like Argus with everyone coming in to help stop N'zoth(especially the army of the light, you know the mortal enemy of the void/old gods who would suffer greatly if Azeroth was turned void) and perhaps instead of beaming N'zoth to death have us use the heart to awaken Azeroth herself and get cinematic where she beats the crap out of Zoth, just a thought.

I left wow a little before the end of legion because of College, I thought after a few months I would come back but couldn't because of reasons, but after watching how this expansion developed now I'm not so sure... this feels like WOD all over again...
Aside from snorting at the ending, I have to say everything else just hurt to watch. I agree with the comments on BFA and seeing WoW having turned into little more than a cash grab is immensely heartbreaking as a long time fan.

The best Horde was the Horde under Garrosh in Cataclysm. They could've used his Hellscream legacy for great character development. As was shown in Stonetalon, he had great sympathy and in SIlverpine, how he called Sylvanas' experiment an abomination against nature. I don't know why they made the decision to throw away Garrosh but he could've been the best warchief and great character in contrast with Varian/Anduin.

I gotta agree. But, I'm hoping there's some sort of twist. The N'zoth fight was so BLAND and WEAK compared to the rest of the raid (kudos to the art/raid team). And the "cinematic" doesn't even do him justice. Hoping he wanted us to kill him, or maybe the mythic phase shows that it's all a vision/illusion. I'm grasping at straws here but it hurts to see the lore go down this route. Where's the love and PASSION that Blizzard used to have for the Warcraft franchise. Not everything is about money :(

The Legion was there in the first place because of Wrathion, he helped free Garrosh, caused WoD which is worth being drawn and quartered alone, and gave Gul'Dan the opportunity to start Legion.
@@Kozuu7 Basically this. WoD happened because Wrathion set Garrosh free, and the Bronze Dragon that helped got killed by Garosh. Then Legion happened because WoD happened. Anduin isn't entirely wrong to hold Wrathion responsible for Varian's death.

Noticed that the dagger he wields is the possessed dagger we empower before getting N'zoth in our brains. When did he go grab it? I don't recall any cut scenes or him being around when it was lying on the raid's floor.

@@yalsha4686 He gets it from Aszhara. It's also not possessed; it was a prison for Xal'atath and now she's free of it. It's a prison again and Wrathion has stabbed it into N'Zoth. So now a sliver of him is inside it.
