found one of these today at a local dealer, same color with same interior. really enjoyed the CVT transmission. I'm so tired of my current car's rough gear transmission; it was so refreshing to just drive this car and have no delays in speed due to shifts in transmission. I didn't even hear the engine turn on!! really trying to get this car :(
The NX300h with i-AWD is only $16.000.00 dollars more. I'd love the better interior and much more. But, I spend my money on accordions. And, I need every dime that I can get! I love the XLE RAV4 i-AWD Toyota Hybrid! Goodbye 2006 Prius, I did move on. Seats with softex (plastic) seats and navigation, who needs that? I need a reliable drive train! With the hybrid synergy drive, I'll be good to go for another ten years! Living in Minnesota, I could no longer live with a four inch ground clearance. Also, the Prius doesn't offer i-AWD and a spare tire for many models. The windshield visors on the 2016 Prius offer no extension. You can extend your windshield visors on the 2016 RAV4 Hybrid! Little things mean a lot! I also don't have the blare from the cheap chrome on the dashboard of the likes of the Avalon and possibly Camry. I'm a happy camper!
Do the seats in the rear of the truck function like the front seats do? In the Prius V the car has rear seats that function nearly identical to the front seats. They fold back slide forward and back just like the bucket seats do in the front. ONLY CAR I HAVE EVER SEEN DO THIS !
Does the horsepower increase in the Hybrid translate into increased highway speed and passing ability, ie. over the base model? Or does it only help at lower (0-60) speeds?
Hey man, thanks for the video. I am really interesting on getting this model. I currently own a 2013 Jeep Patriot which is great I love everything about it, except of course MPG, it is horrible. I move from Alaska to San Diego, CA and my current MPG on the highway is 15 mpg with 2.0 4 cylinder.
Actually, you shouldn't ad lib. The Subaru Crosstrek mileage is almost identical to this vehicle. What you might check out is if this electric motor for the rear is even comparable to the system in the Subaru. Also, are you sure about the price you quoted for the top of the line limited? Seems low.
we have a 2000 rav4 limited since new, she's a old lady now 208k and still runs strong no serious issues, just reg maintenance 2 belts ,3 rebuilt alternators, a timing pre tensioner (no major damage) 4 fender benders 2 sets of rims, and shocks once. she's awd. We have been holding out, wanted a v6.... but waited to long. .. so now we might go check out this hybrid rav4.. wish they could come out with a 5 cylinder , or 4 with some kind of electric turbo
hybrids tend to get less mpg on the highway because the gas motor is usually requiring more power and gas. and the crv is a non hybrid anyways and gets way less in the city, which is the area hybrids shine
+Taofiki Gafar For families, the space is definitely worth it. In addition, you are getting a more comfortable ride, all wheel drive, much better resale values, proven Toyota reliability, etc. Of course, a Mazda3 is much more fun and engaging to drive, but that's not the main priority for those in this market. With your argument, everyone should by buying base Mustangs instead of midsize crossovers (like Highlanders and Pilots).
Hi, I am in market for a compact crossover SUV. I am considering Rav4 Hybrid Limited, 2016 Tucson Limited, 16 CRV Touring. All fully loaded models. I am looking for great MPG, styling and relaibility. Love the new tuscon's look, panoramic sunroof, turbo and stuff but mpg is not as good as rav4 hybrid obviously and it is Korean. I am blindsided by Japanese reliability but Toyota and Honda suck at styling. Overall, as a good car, best bang for your buck including styling, What would you recommend me? Rav4Hybrid, Tucson, CRV, CX5, Rogue (PS: I hate subarus so we can skip them) Thanks :)
+Kartikeya Atluri I bought a Mitsubishi Outlander 2016 4-cylendar 2 months ago, so far so good. There is a PHEV version coming Spring 2016, much more fuel efficient than the Rav4 but I do not know about the pricing.
+Kartikeya Atluri If you want a hybrid I dont think in this segment anything is better than this new RAV 4. If you don't need a hybrid it would be the CR-V or RAV 4 for me. The new Tuscon has a nice design but its a double clutch transmission and I've been told those can have problems. If you like style the Mazda CX-5 might be your choice. Mazda has been getting great reliability ratings from consumer reports.
Look at the Ford C-Max Hybrid SEL / (Titanium) if you dont need an CUV and still want to sit up higher like in a SUV/CUV and want to spend less and get 40-50 mpg but dont need as much space
Their full Electric rav 4 was way better too bad they scrapped that and bring this trash in. They are getting on fuel cells and losing miserably. What a shame such a big car company doesn't make any electrics anymore. I won't drive anything else after I got my first electric car.
+stockjonebills I drive an electric vehicle daily and most people don't drive long distances daily. If you need to make a long distance trip, use a different car. The infrastructure is feasible depending on your location but its only improving. I know an electric vehicle is not for everyone, but the rav 4 ev got decent range and would work for a great deal of people.
+Jacob Dykstra I drive long distances daily. An all electric is not feasible for me. Not until the battery technology gets better (distance), or every gas station I see has charge stations and the car can charge in a reasonable amount of time. If all you do is drive a few miles inner city you might be able to get away with it. I will admit that I would have expected this hybrid gets better mileage. You can get similar mileage with a regular 4.
EV Electics for around town (< 5 miles trips) / Hyrids for mix of city and highway speeds and longer trips / Diesel for Long trips on mostly highway speeds with no traffic. Use the right tool for the job at hand
contractki11er U.S does not allow this engines despite this vehicles being capable of reaching 64 mpg ( U.S ) the American government says this cars are pollutant despite achieving 800 miles range from 12 gallons fuel tanks
Did he say a new "ass"? LOL!!!! I can't!!

Nice review. Beautiful solid vehicle

hows the crash test ratings?

are the headlights white LED or are old Yellow lamps? Please let me know
on the limited yes, on the xle and below, no.

34mpg city and less in highway? CrV gets how many ?
hybrids tend to get less mpg on the highway because the gas motor is usually requiring more power and gas. and the crv is a non hybrid anyways and gets way less in the city, which is the area hybrids shine
totally get that
my dad's CR-V gets about 30 mixed mpg
about right
34mpg and 12.5 L engine. That's the same as my 2014 Mazda 3 hatchback. So buying this =s more space for about 10k more? Is it really worth it?

do you have to plug it in and charge it every night?
+Chris W no - hybrids recharge themselves as you drive.
how the ride
$28k for the limited trim? Everywhere I'm seeing them listed it's at least $35k.
they have a bunch of optional packages attached to them. thats probably why.
and all those extra features are usually wanted/needed.

I don't know if you were asking that guy in the video but I myself getting rav 4 hybrid!!!

i'll rather choose this rav4 than the ugly 2016 prius...
The prime doesn't look too bad.
Nice car. Too bad it's not a plug-in.

+Jacob Dykstra Its not feasible with today's infrastructure to have a full electric vehicle. Especially for long distance driving.

My 4x4 Gets 52 MPG and is way prettier
+niceguy60 What kind of 4x4 are you driving?

niceguy60 Hot damn that's a beautiful car. Too bad we don't have those in the US.

niceguy60 Yea, the only diesel car now that isn't being investigated by EPA with a good range is the Chevy Cruze 2.0. with 700 miles
