- How to celebrate the Summer Solstice the Irish way - at the Hill of Uisneach, the dead centre of Ireland and a fairy hill! 🧚♀️🧚♀️
Since prehistory, the Summer Solstice has been seen as a significant time of year, being marked by rituals and gatherings. The Hill of Uisneach, with its elevation and clear views of over more than twenty counties, was and still remains the perfect landscape to welcome the Solstice and the warmth it brings.

Wow that speech about the divine feminine and how we’re only a blip in terms of the people who came before us and who will come after us had me holding my breath without even thinking about it. That was so powerful.
As somebody from the US, I feel like you can really hear the influence of Celtic folk music on American folk, country, and even spiritual music when you hear her singing. I mean it’s well known, but you can really hear it here. Makes it an even better experience, knowing thousands of years ago my ancestors did that, and then hundreds of years ago my ancestors did the other.
I swear I heard “pizza in our minds, pizza in our hearts” and I was like same.
This makes me so happy as a Pagan 😁
Makes me imagine my ancestors there, even though I am now on the other side of the Earth. ❤
I really do like & appreciate you for experiencing also sharing The Irish Pagan Culture with everyone. People forget that's where our ancestors come from & very few still practice to this day
Thank you for this! I've been learning about ancient sacred sites and Goddesses in Ireland, and it's so great to see how modern gatherings go in these sites on the solstices and equinoxes.
That was incredibly moving, Clare! Thank you so much for sharing this! I've learned so much Irish history on your channel. 🇮🇪💚☘️
Great video obviously i connect with this, smiles.. thanks for showing that side of Ireland
Your adventures spark excitement in me. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much! Pls share with anyone you think might enjoy them! 🤩
Wow this was such a fantastic video. Once again you made me feel like I was right there standing with everyone in that field ❤
Thank you so much! 🥹
This is amazing. I wish I was there to celebrate this. Thank you for sharing this for an Irish girl in the United States, Florida. I have big dreams to go to Ireland some day.
As someone who was at Bealtaine this year - I would have rather been at the summer solstice 😅 thank you for letting us experience that through your eyes!
Got a little something in my eye...thank you for sharing this!
That was beautiful! I wish I had been there. Thank you Clisare, I really, really enjoyed that.
Very fascinating - thank you for sharing this trip with us! And now I know why the month of August in Gaeilge is Mí Lúnasa.
you could do a whole video of just the singing, and i'd be like "hell yeah"
Her voice is sooooo beautiful❤
Thank you for always educating, appreciate you.
this was lovely. thanks for sharing
Thank you for sharing! 😉
I could feel the energy of that place even through the screen. That was beautiful. Thank you for that.
And She Moved Through The Faire is one of my favorites. Owain Phyfe did an excellent version. You can look it up on here.
I didn't want it to end!
Wonder how many of my ancestors celebrated in that exact same spot.
I love his crown!
Incredible video. The editing so well done. Admittedly the oration, sight of the ceremony and sacred place, the bodhrán and music being sung had me a bit emotional over here. That's not easy to do makin a video even if the viewer is a former Wiccan/Pagan, now mostly agnostic individual that still might light candles on Samhain specifically. I enjoyed this very much, thank you for sharing it. 😀
Thank you so much! I just wish I could get more people to click on these kinds of videos - my thumbnail game is bad 😭
@@Clisare This one wasn't bad. It's just very niche in a cultural and spiritual/mythological way I suppose
Well if the fairies cause any problems, call Captain Jack Harkness and Torchwood.
I miss this
This was very interesting, it makes me wonder how much the ritual has changed over the years . Have a wonderful week and hope to see you on the Try Channel soon ! 💚🤍🧡
I am from America and I wish I could visit Ireland with my family because a famous singer from America visit your country named Rich Mullins
Its good that some have not forgotten the old ways :). I will show this video to my children.
That was absolutely beautiful! 💖💖💖💖💖
Love your videos!!!
Love this!
This was really good. Thank you Clare.
If only the fyre fest was this
Nice editing, BTW 👍🏻
Thank you! 🤩
I'm afraid the roman catholic church has scarred me so deeply that I am unable to believe in anything anymore. Looks like a lot of these people had a moving experience. They may have found some peace of mind. I wish them, and you, all good things!
Don't be held back by The Church (As I call it: The rotten church) ... move on and grow. I call myself a Collapsed Catholic. LOL.
Years ago, when I went to the hill, I was nicely surprised at how wild and natural it was .....a great place. At the very top was a shiny state Ordnance Survey marker ...for laying out maps .... which made me proud.... showing that the the Irish government saw the importance of the location.
Never give up on your culture and ancient customs. Keep them alive. Interesting. Love fairies 😂
Oh I'm a sucker for fire ❤🔥🔥🦁
Don't let them sew you into a bear skin!
As always thank you for sharing! I am interested to know what being there meant for you, if you are open to sharing your thoughts. Thanks again, and can’t wait for the next one.
I think it’s hard when I’m there with a camera because I’m thinking more about recording it than really experiencing it? That said I did really enjoy it, and it felt quite nice. I probably didn’t emotionally connect with it as much as I could have if I was just there to experience it.
✨💜✨
The statue at 1:08 kind of looks like you! 😋❤
Peace be upon you and Alex and Millie! Not just now but for always. And may the world temperatures calm the fuck down already because this triple-digit shit out here is driving us all stroppy... Also, I've heard it's very bad to drink alcohol when it's excessively hot. I'm too old to experiment personally with that idea. Feel free to test the concept yourself.
I was waiting for Rowan Morrison to pop out 🤪
Who is he?
@@Clisare Her, character in the film the Wicker Man(1973). They have a procession to an appointed place. Your video vaguely reminded me of it. It's about a pagan community living on an island off the coast of Scotland whose crops have failed and need to make an offering to the gods. It's really good.
!ALGORITHM!
That lady that was singing was amazing , the hair on my arms were standing on edge .. that was great Clisare
Slán Slán
Quite interesting, but now inquiring minds want to see and hear your standup session little lady. In some way put me in mind of a Pow Wow. :) Hope your done roasting, still an easy bake oven out my way interupted breifly with down pours that water the plants and provide for the wild critters at least. TTFN best to all and of course Scritches for Miss MIllie.
My stand up set was all inside jokes for a friend group so I didn’t bother recording it. If I go back to actual stand up, I will!
Just wondering, what with being pregnant, are you still planning to go back for Beltane?
Is it too much of a leap to think that the true source of uisge beatha is Uisneach, and that we drink of the blood of Ireland with every dram?
😂😂😂😂
Físeán iontach a bhí anseo. An mbeifeá in ann físeáin a dhéanamh ar na trí mhórshaoire eile? (I know my Irish is poor, but I've run out of people in my family who are still alive and speak it 🙂)
I’m planning to! 🥰🧚♀️🧚
This just seems like a bit of a get-together for curious tourists, mythology enthusiasts, neo pagans and Celtic reconstructionists. Fun, but probably not at all authentic to how this particular festival was celebrated, historically.
Yes.
So is that a pagan celebration?
Beautiful ceremony, but would have been much more beautiful if it wasn't performed so much in ann imperialist language. Tír gan teanga, tír gan anam. 💚🇮🇪
Yeah but doing it as Gaeilge would limit attendees so I understand why they don’t. Accessibility. He did sprinkle in Irish ☘️
Some of them were walking on the grass in their bare feet. I hope they didn't step on nettles, twigs, thorns or stones. 😖
