I attended this lecture last month in London. Penrose is unusual among contemporary physicists in that he is a wonderful speaker to both advanced and general audiences in that he never dumbs down but also knows when to necessarily qualify statements which are deemed only relevant for expert evaluation, not for general understanding. This makes him not just a great thinker, but - perhaps more importantly - also a great speaker, communicator, teacher and therefore inspirer as well. An all-round admirable man!

He also does not come across as arrogant and constantly points out others as instrumental to his thinking and development. Far too many of these people talking about how smart they are.

Thank God this interview is available on UA-cam, so one can go back and forth re-hearing parts of it again and again. Fascinating, inspiring, Sir Roger Penrose.

Maybe there exist three domains that share nine dimensions of space, with one time dimension. Each domain might be composed of a different one of the families of quarks and leptons in such a way that only with high powered particle colliders like the LHC can the domains detect each other.

+walter bishop Hi Walter. Probably best to keep an eye on Roger's website or Princeton University Press website for upcoming events. He's not doing many due to not being as young as he feels though.

Well, IF your American you can very clearly tell this Howard gentleman is of Canadian origin, Americans don't say 'out' like 'oat' or 'about' like 'aboat'. So your attempt at a knock toward him and 'Americans' fell on its face....I agree though such a lengthy and egg headed introduction
