  • With 4 Press-Turns, Satan is relatively consistent if Death shield is used every turn to block Mamudoon, and Void Ailments or Void Charm to block Temptation. The only thing that can screw the party over is Mamudoon when he uses Temptation since that is only time that the party is vulnerable to Mamudoon.
As for the Boss itself, Satan has 30,000HP, and divided into three phases. Satan is also a resistance shifting boss, elemental affinity is as following:
    - Turn 1 Repels Physical, and Gun
    - Turn 2 Repels Fire, Ice, and Elec
    - Turn 3 Repels Ice, Elec, and Force
    - Turn 4 Repels Elec, Force, and Earth
Satan takes 80% damage for whatever element that he does not Repel, and takes 50% damage from Almighty attacks.
Satan can sometimes spam Debilitate and bring the party's stats to -2 or more, so Dekunda is there for that situation. Keep Satan at -2 debuff, else he will randomly use Dekunda if any of his stats reaches -3.
    Ground rules for this fight:
    - Satan will always use Diarahan if his HP is equal to or less than 1,500.
    - Satan always opens with Futility to neutralize any passive skills or Karma Ring that can alter the party member's innate resistances rendering them completely useless.
    - Magic Mirrors or Magic Repel will provoke Satan into casting Retribution in-place of any action that is not scripted.
    - Every 4 turns there has to be at least one party member with +3 in all stats, if not Satan will use God's Breath to deal 9999 damage to the party. Contrary to popular belief, Close Call can be used to survive this fatal attack once as Satan will forfeit all of his remaining turns after using God's Breath.

    0:00 ~ Character Stats
All party member have max. out Magic stats, except for Argilla this will be important for Phase 3.
Cielo and Argilla have the Curse status, the reason will be explained in more detail in the Phase 1 section.
    -----
    0:10 ~ Battle Prelude
    -----
    0:36 ~ Phase 1
This phase is not too frightening. Satan will only use single-target -Dyne spells, and he seems to prefer keep all of the party member's HP relatively even. Vanity is only threat in this phase, since it can inflict Sleep, Panic, or Charm which inhibits the party's ability to use the Charge combo, however by inflicting Cielo and Argilla with the Curse status, they are immune to any potential status that Vanity can inflict since Curse has the highest ailment priority other than the Stone status. This does however leaves Cielo and Argilla extremely vulnerable to Mamudoon, though in the first phase, the party will be casting Death Repel every turn any turn anyway, and this allows the party to get away just Mediarahan as the primary healing spell.
    -----
    22:32 ~ Phase 2
This phase starts once Satan has taken 15,000 damage or more. Try to start this phase, on Turn 4 when he uses Dekaja to avoid unnecessary risk of Mamudoon death due to needing to protect against Temptation as Satan uses Temptation immediately after reaching the 15,000 damage or more threshold if the next turn cycle is not Turn 4, and always on Turn 1 afterward.
In this phase, Satan starts using random hitting elemental spells which can be deadly if there is no defense buff on the party so keep the party at full health before Turn 4 starts to avoid party member being taken out.
The Curse status is removed here, since the chance for Satan to use Vanity is dropped drastically to point of non-existent if Void Ailments shield is used to block Temptation.
    -----
    31:49 ~ Phase 3
This phase start once Satan has taken 22,500 damage or more. Here he starts using Ma-dyne spells, increases the frequency that he uses Megidolaon, and uses Retribution on Turn 2 and 3 which targets the party member with the lowest Magic stat. This is the reason why Argilla has 98 magic instead of 99. Call Seraph combo is used to heal and revive for the price of one Press-Turn with the Synchro Ring. The only drawback to Argilla being targetted is the party would be vulnerable to Mahamaon, though at this stage Satan seems to be focused on more using damage dealing spells and Mamudoon to wipe out the party, so the benefit outweigh the drawback.
    -----
49:04 ~ Delivering the final blow
Satan has less than 3,000 HP remaining. Using the Impel Stone, 3 Mind Charged magic attack is enough to seal his fate, plus as per tradition every party member will be alive to receive the final optional boss EXP in Digital Devil Saga 2.
