I completely agree. You know what though? There comes a time between mothers and daughters when you CAN become friends. All of my kids are grown and out on their own. I'm 53 and my oldest is 33. (She's also my only daughter.) She and I are the closest we've ever been and she told me the other day that I'm her best friend. It actually made me teary eyed. She said of course I'm her mother first and foremost but that since she's gotten older, I've become more like her best friend. She said she confides in me things that she doesn't even tell her friends. I don't know if that is the norm once kids are grown or what. Sadly, my mom died when she was only 46 of breast cancer. So I never really got to have that grown maturity friendship that I might have had with my mom. At any rate, I'm not complaining. Lol. But again, I totally agree that you should PARENT FIRST when your kids are young. They don't need a friend, they need a parent. Hopefully there will be plenty of time later to become friends.

That would sure never happen today. I've been a teacher for 30 years and that would never be allowed in this day and age. I am 65 and though born in the 50's and a teenager in the late 60's and 70's it was SO different than watching this made in 1951.

Yes, my gym teacher had me over to his condo unit frequently for extra practice sessions. Even had a gym uniform on hand for me to change in to. He was so attentive and swell with extra health drinks and oil massages. It really helped bring up my grades in gym too!
