I recommend taking pathfinding into account regarding your tile choices -- you want to be able to click once and run somewhere, I'm sure clicking a million times to follow your unlocks exactly will get tedious. There's a runelite plugin that shows the path your character will take to any tile you hover over

I've never seen a player get so happy about an iron dagger before. This man's enjoyment of this game is on a whole different level.
Way before I was aware of UA-cam and RuneScape guides I would spend countless inefficient hours training a skill. Considering how easy the game has gotten over the years, these restrictions on your account along with your enthusiasm takes me back to when I was younger. Very nostalgic for me.

I remember being approached by Sram in the GE when he started, asking people to watch his UA-cam channel, comparing himself to YOU. I loved the idea a ton, and enjoyed his stuff. I'm sure he'd be proud to see someone with more time on their hands to take this idea to new heights!

I often find it less rewarding than other hobbies of mine but thats just me. Less rewarding in that many of the goals are really long term and its hard to feel satisfaction with small play times

So hyped to see that the legend himself is making a Tileman account! I love the idea for increasing the exp required for a tile. Once you get a few thousand tiles, it makes the gamemode a lot less of a grind which imo isn't as fun. Can't wait to see how this series progresses!

Major props to you for being able to reinvent what Runescape content is. The classic ironman progress videos just can't compare to this type of content. Binged Swampletics while training my iron and now onto this series.
Absolutely love it man. Sram's series was one of my favorite pandemic-era series and it makes me so happy to see you take it on!!!
I foresee 2 problems with the xp per tile scaling in the long run:
1: the amount of xp needed per tile will quickly reach a point where it increases far faster than your xp rates increase. For some perspective, getting level 50 in all skills requires a little over 2m xp (meaning 3k xp per tile), and your xp rates will scale minimally from there. Meanwhile, base 70s would require about 17m xp, meaning you'd have to spend 18k xp per tile, 6x as much with your xp rates unlikely to even be 1.5x as high. This will mean that it'll only really be feasible to get tiles in large numbers in the early game, so you'd be required to hoard early tiles for lategame use or see pacing ground to a standstill in the lategame.
2: if you get a lot of xp in one really easy skill, you can quickly reach a point where xp in other skills that are slower to train becomes negligible in granting tiles. Like if you get firemaking/thieving/whatever going and get to 10m+ xp, when your other skills are still in the
There is a maximum of just under 7500 (exact 7485) Tiles he is able to unlock with the 1k XP increase until 1b total XP so he definitelly has to look into the scaling to either be like in steps of +250xp or like you suggested add 1k ever multiple of 2 so at 2m, 4m, 8m, 16m, 32m so at 32m he only would need 6k XP instead of 32k XP
Maybe a system where getting a level before spending tiles would work better? Incentivizes training different skills instead of just doing the fastest one for xp.

There's this popular wisdom that great art comes from constraints. This exemplifies this statement more than anything. Good luck you madman !
Diagonal tiles give you access to 25% more adjacent tiles to interact with. Definitely go diagonal every chance you get.
For combat, I think straight tiles would be better because you unlock 3 new adjacent spaces instead of 2 (plus the opportunity to loot). For movement, I think straight unlocks 3 new spaces and diagonal unlocks 5, so you're right about movement.
Technically speaking it’s 41% more efficient
If you’re just looking at distance

the idea is that going diagonally will give you more adjacent tiles that you did not already have access to than going straight if I am reading this right. going straight gives you the ability to interact with 3 new spaces by walking onto the new one, while going diagonally gives more

Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc and you should get a response. This series concept is most definitely one of the craziest ones i’ve ever come across. With some of my favorite creators behind this, I must say, I am quite excited to see where this journey takes them!
Looking forward to this! :) Make sure to make cloud backups of the runelite plugin data files every now and then in case they'd get corrupted, harddrive crash or something similar happens.
Saw the finale today without seeing a single episode, made me feel so much pride for the game I gotta start at the beginning now.
Why?
An improvement to the plugin would be to auto walk back into unlocked tiles if trying to leave them, if the plugin can't handle it, a custom client or 3d party pixel reader probably could be possible to develop. (Or maybe a combination of a addon flashing pixels that a 3d party mouse clicker would click)
Mouse clickers are risky since it can trigger the bot detection. Not sure about how auto walk would be implemented.
I'm excited for this playthrough, I loved the concept, but I was sad that Sram didn't continue the series

There’s a RL plug-in for showing the fastest path to a destination. I’d recommend using that for efficient pathing.
Also, if your personal roles allow it, you should definitely grab that UIM armor.

Loved this concept originally, so I'm excited to see this series! I don't know if it would help you at all, but if you get diango's claws you can use the emote and pick up items on tiles next to you without standing on them
OK Settled, you got my sub. I haven't played OSRS in a few years but as a fellow enjoyer of putting themselves through painful handicaps, this really took the cake. I wouldn't do this but watching you do it instead is great and I can actually feel your pain. I'm really looking forward to this series.

For a lot of us, RuneScape is just a fond childhood memory sitting at the back of our minds. It’s fun watching people grind out quest capes and raids but when we actually played ourselves…we were just as “restricted” as this. We had NO idea how to properly play the game. We just wandered around the initial world and collected the most random items. To us they were treasures because we didn’t have a wiki to go onto to see if they were actually valuable or not. Heck we didn’t even know how to start quests properly.
I love the early stages of a challenge like this because it brings me back to those childhood memories spent killing goblins just to get enough gold to venture into the great city of Al Kharid

This was the first RuneScape series i got to watch as soon as the first episode dropped, i sadly didn't finish the series due to life coming up. But it's crazy to think how long it's been already, I'm excited to rewatch as i renew my Ironman subscription and hop back into the grind
