Absolutely amazing i am not iranian but i have played this clip about 10 times the music is very relaxing and the way he plays ie: the movment of his hands & how praffesional it is done is really amazing, my sincere wishes to you.
Made a tear roll down my face, my friend. You took me places with your music that I've never been. Heart, mind and soul... WOW. Very nice, indeed!!!! MORE PLEASE.
I am greek too and I have to say that I have never seen a greek guy play with so much passion and technique. We play it way differently, this guy is really something else. Stay creative my fellow! a friend from Greece
awesome. i love persian music since i was a kid and santoor is my favorite instrument..also i like the track "Om mani Padme Hum" by Rahul Sharma itz a must listen :)
Yanni's men use a hammered dulcimer, which is derived from this instrument - the santoor. But the style is totally unique here. This is traditional Persian music, there is nothing that could come before that as the Persians invented this instrument. Two different music styles.
my twopence for what's worth: 1: excellent piece :) 2: we have a great santoor folkmusic tradition in greece too 3: etymology: san-toor from sanskrit kata = hundred and tor = chord > hence the "hundred-chord" instrument of similar etymology: guitar and sitar cheers from brussels
Excellent - the Santur is a most ancient instrument which was described in detail in the Rig Veda some four or five thousand years ago. Variants of this instrument are played in India, in all the countries of the Middle East and East Europe, especially by gypsies, and it is also a traditional Swiss instrument. It is one of my favourites, and you play it very well indeed. :)
wow, that makes it even more exotic/exclusive =) i really want one, anybody here going to iran soon who'd be willing to buy one and deliver it to me somewhere in northern europe? =)
It is especially interesting that this lovely instrument has variations in both India and Greece. Truly, a lovely sound & an exceptional display. It is easy to understand why it spread so much.
Agreed, Mozart was, and still is, an Enstine of music. But these are two very different types. Both have their positives and negatives but neither is better than the other.
that is great .. we are the same age i too graduated from high school a month ago :) i am not so much into music except DJing and a bit of guitar....now i am seriously considering trying my hands on santoor [:)] Do poste more videos my friend, great work..best of luck for future..
