one special specificity of Master Sadeghi is than unlike many other masters of santur, his left and right mallet-strokes are identically and symmetrically powerful, which denotes decades of rigorous and meticulous practice... have been listening to his music for hours and cannot get enough of it.
My dear dear old teacher at UCLA Dr Manuchihr Sadeghi: WOW !!!! Isn't he WONDERFUL ???? I studied santur from him a long time ago and I've always adored him and his music. We are all Baha'is and I'm so happy to see AND HEAR HIS GORGEOUS MUSIC. Many many hours, we used to spend in the basement Institute of Ethnomusicologhy in Schoenberg Hall on UCLA campus, discussing Persian music, Sadeghi's classes and assignments and exams and Baha'i with Nabil Hanna (Baha'i from Egypt) AS WELL. We love him!!
(Manoochehr Sadeghi on Santur. John Bilizekjian performing the Oud. Mehrdad Arabi playing Tombak and Adam del Monte an amazing Flamenco Guitar player. This was a special performance by these amazing musicians at the Grand Performances arena in downtown Los Angeles September of 2003. The song is called Parvaneh which means Butterfly
@GogiVekua well you might have a point there the guitar is fairly european, but with some middle east elements, ithink they ve done a pretty good job, though far from perfect it is a good chance for people new to mid east santur to hear some if its splendour and also people of themiddle east to hear some spanish guitar. the crowd should stop whistling during solos!!
excellent.. I wish We as a people had more class and would stop whistling in the middle of their solo's so that people can actually listen to their skills and enjoy them... One day our culture will get over post Arab invasion
