Max still getting back in the swing of things but you can tell he’s giving it his all out there and battling and that’s all we can ask for
So proud of my Atlanta Braves! We have the best team in baseball and we also have the best record in baseball! Mad Max Fried was absolutely brilliant and dominant on the mound! He had 8 strikeouts, allowed 6 hits, gave up 2 runs (both runs were earned), issued only 2 free passes, gave up 1 dinger and that only dinger he gave up was to Wilmer Flores, threw 98 pitches with 58 of them being strikes and only 40 of them were balls and now has an ERA of 2.85! Super proud of Max and the boys! We definitely came out swinging that lumber! Orlando and Austin both hit a dinger and I love it when our broadcasters say "Ar-see-ya-later"! When Austin hits a dinger I always go "MVP is spelled RILEY MV-RILEY" but Ronnie is the frontrunner to win the NL MVP award this year especially with those 50+ stolen bases he has! Let's go for the sweep of the Giants tonight boys! Let's break out those brooms! Go Braves!

Good start to the 10 game road trip out West. Hopefully the Braves will keep this thing going. Nice solid pitching by Fried today and some clutch hits.

Fried honestly didn't look all that sharp today, yet recorded 8 strikeouts, and held the Giants to 2 runs. Gained ground on the surging Dodgers, who lost to the Red Sox today.
Notes From the Game:
+ Max Fried had a Solid Outing Today, Going 6 Innings while Allowing 2 Runs on 6 Hits, Walking 2 and Striking Out 8 en route to another Win. Fried Improves to 5-1 with an ERA of 2.85. In the Month of August, Fried is 3-0 with an ERA of 3.58. Not sure if he'll get another outing this month.
+ Bullpen with Another Great Performance! Yates, Johnson, and Minter combine to Finish the Final 3 Innings, Allowing Just 1 Run on 2 Hits, Walking None and Striking Out an additional 2 Giants. Yates' ERA drops to 2.84, and Johnson's to 4.67, while Minter's Holds at 4.21. Hoping that Fortune for Minter will change come Postseason Time.
ROTATION TOTAL: 9 Innings, 3 Runs, 8 Hits, 2 Walks, 10 Strike Outs, 1 Home Run Allowed.
The Braves Offense, Despite going 2-7 with Runners in Scoring Position, Managed to Score a run against EVERY Pitcher the Giants threw out Today!

acting like Elder isn't on the team cause he has a slight down turn since the all-star break. Still pitching well though. Plus Morton was battling strider for that consecutive scorless innings streak over the past couple weeks so he is also dealing. we have way more than 2 pitchers.

Thank you I've been trying to figure that out mathematically. We just need to win 2 more games against the Phillies to win the tiebreaker. That would pretty much give us the division because after that the Phillies would just outright have to win more games than us in order to take the division and maybe by that time they just may run out of games to do so.

Assuming the dodgers and Braves are top 2 NL teams. Also to figure out the magic number mathematically for Divison just take 163 minus Braves wins minus Phillies losses. For playoffs take 163 minus Braves wins minus the 7th place NL team losses. For home field take 163 minus Braves wins minus dodgers losses

I know it's still a little early to talk about playoffs. But if you're a Braves fan, would you rather play the NL Central Champs in the Division Series or a Wild Card team that's peaking at the right time? As a Braves fan, I fear having to play the Phillies again in the NLDS.
I fear any team in the NLDS. I was never a fan of a 5 game series. When the Braves make the NLCS, I'll breathe a sigh of relief.
No one in the National League scares me more than Philly. We caught them at the wrong time last season. I'd like to avoid them this year.

Fill MCHUGHS 40 man spot with shuster….seems mchugh has more shake off pitches called by catcher/ snitker to only get what he’s always gotten…zero results..I’m not slamming mchugh but,he needs to go ….or is mchugh related to someone in Braves front office?MCHUGH cannot pitch…the definition of a decent pitcher is one that can adjust and hit his spots with being told what to throw by the scouting report….mchugh does his OWN thinking…look where is last few outings got him…mchugh is consistently BAD!
