Candids from my 1st Show in over 13 years and this Grulla Yrling Colts, 1st Show ever. (MORE below)

July, 2024 - I have been out of the Horse Show Ring for over 13 years. Although I have never been without horses themselves, for over 45 years, the Show Ring wasn't in the picture the past 13 years. Life changes without warning and we have to do what we have to do, as we are not in charge of our path in life.
My showing experiences were always low key, safe and time spent with alot of great people and great horses!
Getting back into the Horse Show atmosphere felt like renewed strength!! I am a very small fish in a very large pond but what my years of life, love and passion for these horses has taught me is, I am in no competition with anyone but myself.. My heart is there and doing what I do, for myself and the horses.
In my heart, being able even be there, is winning first hand. 💙
What is winning to mediating?
Winning is having my supportive husband telling me Good Job!! When exiting the ring, even though I bombed a class, (meaning "I", not the horse). I want to bring out the best in the horse and when I myself fail them in doing so, I am my biggest critic and no one is tougher on me, than I am on myself. 💙🐎
But then I have to remember....
Winning is also keeping my horse(s) safe, having them trusting me that I will take care of them and keep them safe.
Winning is knowing you are there for you, and the right reasons, for the love of the horse(s) and hearts passion
Winning is being better the next day, then you were the day before and not giving up.
Winning is being thankful in general for ALL you have and what you are doing with your life
Winning is giving God the glory and the thanks for all of the above.
This is truly what winning means to me.. 💙🐎🙏
I am grateful and hankful everyday for all I am able to do and this past weekend renewed my heart and soul in ways that nothing else can.
We met new people, had great conversations we those people the!
The BEST part was the POSITIVE experience for the colt!! My goal for him was accomplished and praying it will continue not only for him, but the others when the time comes for their turn to get to the show! Whiich I pray will be soon!
