I live in Britain, where hunting with a bow is illegal, yet mass farming with inhumane conditions for the animal is legal and promoted. I would much rather eat a bobcat that I’ve ethically killed myself, over an unhappy cow or pig. And no, I’m not a vegan or vegetarian. I just think that actually stalking, killing, butchering and eating the animal (with respect to it) is far less pathetic than going to a store and buying a piece of meat without even caring. But thanks for sharing your skewed perception of reality. 👍🏻

Which there are only 3 states with populations over 200000. So don’t be saying stuff you know nothing about. However, they never made the table. Just put them up and sold them. Those that I know who have eaten them claim they are very good. Several trappers swear bobcat and beaver are their favorite meals. Clay I wanted to thank you. I have been subscribed to your Channel for a little bit now. I like your advice on aiming and bow tuning. I have been using your method of aiming for a couple of weeks now. I have improved by quite a bit. I am consistently hitting a paper plate at 30 yards. I am confident enough now to hunt with my bow. Before your videos I didn't trust my accuracy enough to hunt. The last thing I want to do is wound and not kill. Well I will cut this short lol. Thank you. The hunting situation and regulation is absolutety not comparable with our German laws and animal population. Bobcats and wolves slowly re-occupy the woods after being extinct for over 100 years. Bobcats were released from breeding in zoos. These predators are not even on the list of species for hunting, though single problem-wolves or -bears have been taken out by hunters with extra permit. These animals had killed sheep, cows and horses. Bow hunting is illegal, too, but limited experimental compound bow hunting for wild boar in big city parks is allowed, because rifle hunting would be too dangerous there. But I‘m just a bowyer, not a hunter anyway.
Excellent shot. And great calling too. That last pip right at the end to get the good pose for the shot. Well done! This video made it look easy. It isn't. I've got no objection with your kills so long as you eat and use what you can -- which you do. People who get meat at the store sometimes forget someone had to kill that animal, process it, wrap it up , and then slap a price tag on it.
I had my first opportunity to get one in my 56 years of hunting this week also, and at 20 feet at that. I couldn't bring myself to shoot it with my 45acp, but I would have taken the shot with my recurve bow. It was just amazing to see one up close.

I’ll eat anything, however bobbers are not on my list to put in the freezer. The ones we’ve eaten were trapped. I’ve always wondered if the stress of being trapped makes them taste bad? Currently making our way through an archery kill lion. That meat is super mild and clean tasting

What’d you end up making w the cat? It’s my understanding that fur in the south isn’t as dense as it is up north - like a GA beaver won’t make a garment as warm as one from WI (or ID, etc.) so I’m real curious what that bobcat turned into lol. Looks like it had some GREAT spots!

I have eaten Bobcat before, it kind of has this taste to what Coyte or Fox has. Yes, the Bobcat can be found in South Dakota outside of the Black Hills having come up on seeing them hidden in the woods in my area near the Missouri River.
Love your videos and your way of life. I strive to be more like you and many others who live a more primal life closer to the natural world. I love to hunt as well and love to use my recurve and blow gun and eat everything I kill. So many people hunt for sport and throw their animals in a ditch after they post it on fb. You have a beautiful family and such respectful children and it shows you and your wife are really good people with good morals. And I feel your pain when the youngens start taking all the good shots and we get to kill less and less each trip but in the end that's the point to pass on the torch to the next generation. Won't be long and your boys will be taking you in the woods and putting you on the hunts and it's a beautiful thing. Keep on keeping on brother!
A great hunt. Very difficult to get a shot on a Bobcat from the ground with a stick bow. As a fellow North Idahoan and bowyer myself I have seen many Bobcats in the wild but have yet to get a shot at one. The only disapointment (if you could call it that) is that you did not try the meat right off the bone like Lilly (your Dog) did. Would have liked to know what you thought of it like that before making the meal out of it! 😊 How simalar is it to Mtn. lion as I have had that. Great content as always Clay!
I killed a bobcat in December. I’m having it mounted. I think I’m to late but I should have asked the taxidermist to call me so I can pick up the meat. You are a luck man your wife and kids have an open mind / adventurist pallet.

That was a VERY good shot. The cat went 'out like a light'. Which is the best way.

The sun was behind us so he couldn’t see us well. Aside from that they’re not as prone to run as coyotes when they’re hunting.

I have eaten Bobcat before, it kind of has this taste to what Coyte or Fox has. Yes, the Bobcat can be found in South Dakota outside of the Black Hills having come up on seeing them hidden in the woods in my area near the Missouri River.

Had our first bobcat a few years ago and man there good. BBQ Beaver was something we always had at family reunions as well. Mmmgood stuff.

Love your videos and your way of life. I strive to be more like you and many others who live a more primal life closer to the natural world. I love to hunt as well and love to use my recurve and blow gun and eat everything I kill. So many people hunt for sport and throw their animals in a ditch after they post it on fb. You have a beautiful family and such respectful children and it shows you and your wife are really good people with good morals. And I feel your pain when the youngens start taking all the good shots and we get to kill less and less each trip but in the end that's the point to pass on the torch to the next generation. Won't be long and your boys will be taking you in the woods and putting you on the hunts and it's a beautiful thing. Keep on keeping on brother!

A great hunt. Very difficult to get a shot on a Bobcat from the ground with a stick bow. As a fellow North Idahoan and bowyer myself I have seen many Bobcats in the wild but have yet to get a shot at one.
The only disapointment (if you could call it that) is that you did not try the meat right off the bone like Lilly (your Dog) did. Would have liked to know what you thought of it like that before making the meal out of it! 😊
How simalar is it to Mtn. lion as I have had that.

I killed a bobcat in December. I’m having it mounted. I think I’m to late but I should have asked the taxidermist to call me so I can pick up the meat. You are a luck man your wife and kids have an open mind / adventurist pallet.
