Central Park was inspired by another Mexican park: Alameda Central. When people say Chapultepec is the Mexican Central Park, it's the other way around...

Yes, the only reason I mentioned Central Park was solely to use as a size comparison.

Not only Alameda. Other European parks in France, Spain were the inspiration for Central Park too

Chapultepec Park, situated in the heart of Mexico City, is one of the largest urban parks in the world and holds immense historical, recreational, and cultural significance. Spanning over 1,600 acres, the park encompasses diverse attractions, including the iconic Chapultepec Castle perched atop Chapultepec Hill, which has served as a royal residence, military academy, and presidential palace.
The park is a green oasis within the bustling city, featuring vast green spaces, serene lakes, and walking trails. It's a popular spot for both locals and tourists to escape the urban hustle and enjoy outdoor activities. The park is also home to several museums, such as the National Museum of Anthropology, showcasing Mexico's indigenous heritage, and the Modern Art Museum.
Chapultepec Park is deeply rooted in Mexican history, with connections to Aztec mythology and the colonial period. Its blend of natural beauty, historical significance, and cultural offerings make it a cherished landmark that reflects the soul of Mexico City. Thanks, Ben Troy Outdoors!

Also some Chapultepec are reopening some areas that were close for many years if you can show us those areas next time.

If I'm ever back in that area, I will probably do more videos.
I did make one more video of the historic Centro of Mexico City, I will probably upload that in a week or so.

Seeing the zoo enclosure at the closest it can get to “humane” was a bittersweet victory. If anything it made me hate the Detroit zoo even more.

IT'S CALLED "BOSQUE DE CHAPULTEPEC"" MEANS FOREST.. MORE THAN A PARK AS YOU CAN SEE.. ANOTHER HALF HAS JUST BEEN RECOVERED FOR MORE NATURAL PUBLIC SPACE

Why is there no homeless there?

    • @bentroyoutdoors

Great observation! Mexico doesn't have a homeless problem the way Canada and the U.S. does.
There are no government funds or hand-outs to people on the street so that necessity/dependence cycle is never created.
If you don't try to work or make money some how, you will not survive.
Although you will find people in desperate need who are on the street - usually older women and widows, or men with disabilities who have trouble finding work, but 90% of them will be selling something to try to make some income.
Also the cost of living and food is still relatively low.
