Aww, RIP Denny. Great to enjoy my first neighborhood Thai dinner with your stories.
RIP Julie.
And yet, he made it to 81. RIP.
Still 0 dislikes..... Faith in humanity restored😀
Not only did you make it to 40, Denny O'Neil, you made it into the 21st Century and good for you, sir!
Interesting fact about Julie Schwartz: 30 years before he met Denny, he was a literary agent for a struggling New England pulp author based out of Providence, Rhode Island named Howard Phillip Lovecraft. I've often suspected that this connection is where Ra's Al Ghul (compare with the Necronomicon author Abdul Alhazrad) and Arkham Asylum (original conception by HPL being a city) came from in O'Neill's Batman run.
It's amazing how the comics industry is just like the rest of corporate America.
You should really read Slugfest for an idea of how corporate DC was by the 1960s.
Interesting fellow, and seems like a nice guy.
I've heard that Adams being late on #88 got it cancelled because the sales were good but not great. I have also heard a lot of copies of this pre-direct sales comic "fell off the truck" into the after market.
