Joe Sinnott talks about the effects of the Comics Code

  • Back in 1954 "Seduction of the Innocent" by Frederic Wertham was published, which had a chilling effect on the comic book industry. The book alleged that comics promoted juvenile delinquency among other things. A public backlash ensued and the comics industry was faced with a mass exodus of readers. Joe Sinnott recalls worked during that time and the scarcity of work.

    Joe Sinnott, one of the all-time great inkers of the comic book medium! Jack Kirby rarely looked than when delineated by Joltin' Joe's powerful inks.

    As much as I liked Ayers inks on Kirby, it would have been great if he could have stayed on the book, and did the inks for ff 6 to 43. Think he did do a few pages of ff 6.

    It's a shame he didn't get more pencilling jobs. After Kirby and Ditko he was the best artist Marvel had.
