Father and son reunited and it feels so good
❤️❤️❤️
Yep ... Two intelligent, funny and decent guys from different generations.
I like... your profile picture.
💯
THIS IS LITERALLY THE EXACT THING I WAS ABOUT TO COMMENT 😂😂😂
You can literally see trevor's eyes watering when Jon starts praising him. That's a hell of a moment and it's top notch.
Trevor deserves every bit of it
It’s just grandpa Jon telling his grandson “you did good”
kindness matters
You can't really see it, but you can feel Trevor blushing...
Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are in a league all their own
This is why I like Jon Stewart. He parodies the conservative right but he's a liberal that doesn't want to judge people with different beliefs but instead he actually just cares about what's important. Regular people.
And that how we are all supposed to be
@A. Reader I think he's too smart for that!
And he’s fair. He’s always addressed the moral issues- not necessarily the political ones.
When your "different beliefs" include putting kids in cages and trying to defund the Special Olympics, damn right I am going to judge you.
Wish Noah Trevor was like that
A lot of people like this "new" Trevor better, and it's not the dimples.
I think what we are seeing, Trevor, is you taking more control over the direction of the show and it's obvious that people like you hosting your own show. I too missed Jon and thought, who is this guy? Then I saw your stand up, and I was like oh shit yeah this guy's hilarious and real. Comedy Central just didn't give enough of that control to you in the show. I don't know if it's being at home, the hoodies, the beard, or the lack of a commute, but you're more relaxed and you are showing through more.
When the studio reopens and they bring back the audience, let's keep seeing this Trevor, the one who is running his show. The Daily Trevor Noah Show.
100% truth! Never stop doing you, Noah! Wit, compassion, political acuity, and charm. You are shining more than ever Mashallah.
Trevor is looking a little 'dirty' is how me and my girlfriends describe it. And we LIKE it, lol.
It's not surprising to me to see him do better on his own. I said from the beginning that he'd do better with a show built around him rather than fit him in another show.
This is a fantastic opportunity for Trevor to show the studio producers and execs that he can run with his own ideas _and_ succeed.
Great point made: “what could be more liberating than not having to worry about your health insurance being tied to your job?” The argument for, the logic behind, universal healthcare. Exactly, Mr. Stewart, exactly!
_ Sionor Surely not. There are many young people with the abilities we need for leadership.
Ahh yeah almost like we need a list of rights in regards to economics 🤔
Sophie Robinson I think the point was that those young people and their futures are not being represented in either politically ancient (in terms of core political philosophy) candidate running. (Yes, Biden is much better, if only because of the possibility of a couple progressive cabinet members here and there, supreme court picks/judges, and climate policy)
Keoki Higa One might call it an “Economic Bill” of such 🤔
Sam O by gum you’re onto something! If only there were contemporary politicians proposing them and they could draw on a benevolent historical figure from American politics 🤔🤔🤔
"All the people in this country who are essential are the lowest paid."
Truth
Modern day slaves doing hard job on cost of their life
Truth!!! As a parent we had to fight my sons old school (autism aides) to get them better pay. They take care of our special needs individuals with hardly a break or vacation or pay that is a living wage. It is disgusting. And the same as people who care for our elderly etc
We must value those who care for our loved ones
The average salary of a CEO in Japan is 580,000 with a compensation of stocks. Back in 2008 or 9 the ceo of Japan Airline salary was 95k because the company was having financial problems plus he wanted on the cafeteria line just like everyone else......different cultures.
During Lockdown 1 (you better believe the sequel is already prepped and raring to go like the Marvel extended universe gimmick), the paycheck-to-paycheck people risked their health every single day in order to eat, while the privileged got paid to write a couple of e-mails at home and then have the audacity to bitch about being bored. Oh, and the paycheck-to-paycheck people are predominantly (not entirely, but largely) non-white. Hmmm, anybody making any obvious connections with the obvious, here? Something else going on right now that is obviously related in any obvious way?
@@gabrielantos4144 - the 13th amendment prohibits slavery "except as a punishment for crime". A fairly simple loophole to exploit, as it turns out.
"all the people in this country who are essential to its functioning are the lowest paid."
blairaaa I wish I could up vote this thousands of times. They are the least taken care of and they are the strongest. I'm sooooo proud of my local dollar store employees. They can't get 40 hours a week, but they are there every day.
Look at any group of people responsible for delivering goods and services and you will see the lowest paid,
The hospital nurse.
The schoolroom teacher.
The sales associate.
Especially delivery drivers that have become invaluable while everyone was/is in lockdown. Sadly the pay is absolute shit-- at most from a delivery that cost $10-$50, the driver receives like, ~$2-5 bucks. Which then essentially goes back down to $0 because of gas. Entire wage is tips, but this is just my experience w Postmates, idk if other apps like DoorDash are any better
@@lotsofuwuenergy3983 wow, UPS drivers make 70K a yr. plus benefits while ppl at walmart, kroger, etc make 7.25 hr. and the tipped servers make 3.00 an hr.and lost their jobs. So these drivers are upper middle class in my state.
Ain't that a bitch! It's so true ! And the powers that be knows this and still doesn't acknowledge us pay wise.
"Apparently sanitary conditions are a liberal myth - John Stewart" should be on a t-shirt!
He's spelt "Jon" but other than that, I agree with you :)

Well said. These two have such great rapport together, I love it!
you can see trevor tearing up when jon's complimenting him on how well the show is doing (and how handsome he is doing it).
I thought the exact same thing as i watched this!
Absolutely. Trevor's eyes shine with love for Jon, it's a beautiful thing

It's the truth, lol.
I was so sad when Jon Stewart left the Daily Show, but watching Trevor Noah help him look into a computer camera properly is the perfect metaphor to say “it was time”.
~Miss Jon Stewart, but love watching Trevor Noah make this show his own. ~
He's spot on when he compares the wearing a mask with a surgeon wearing a mask for your safety as well. It's true
Except surgeons don't wear them for hours on end and while they drive their cars etc....it's toxic to live your life in a mask actually
TBC That’s hilarious, so those 16 hours surgeries aren’t a thing?
I’ve taken 4 transatlantic flights (I’m airline crew) in the last month, Im not feeling any side effects from wearing a mask for 6-7 hours in a low oxygen pressurised environment.
This comparison is completely asinine. He’s trying to compare somebody wearing a mask while in public to a surgeon wearing a mask while operating on you. Typically during surgery you are cut open and the surgeon needs to be relatively close to complete the procedure. Obviously closer than 6 feet and the surgery room is relatively small. How is this in anywhere comparable to wearing a mask while for example shopping in Walmart where it is relatively easy to keep socially distant? The two are in no way comparable to each other. I understand what he’s trying to say but the comparison is moronic at best. I like at the end where he literally tries to associate people who don’t want to wear masks with being on the right. Nice job Jon for showing that you’re a left leaning liberal.
Danielle Gager
Have you heard "Pence, on a Fence..."? He says "...wearing Mask..." like he is afraid to state that his has a "mask" that he wears... America sees him through his Tribal Wear.
@@emsp8 you're presuming that it's at all times possible to keep 6 feet while in the supermarket, convenience store, seven eleven or any other public space. That's not my experience. On checkout people are not really keeping their distance. There's always that one guy with 4 bags of toilet paper that wants to leave the store as quick as possible before others catch on to it. The reason to wear a mask is not for your own protection but to prevent you from infecting everyone around you in case the virus got you and you're asymptomatic or presymptomatic. A surgeon with good bucal hygiene who's breathing through the nose wouldn't necessarily need a face mask. But obviously the possibility of exhaling germs and risking an infection is still a compelling enough reason to wear one anyway.
Trevor looked like was going to cry when John Sweart was giving him props
Coz Jon was his mentor and his predecessor
Yea, I saw that too. His face was red. I think he was trying not to cry and blushing at the same time. ...to have a compliment like that coming from Jon Stewart himself is HUGE!!

"Can you do the show without dimples" 😂😂😂 Jon Stewart is hilarious. What a guy!
NOW-FINALLY- everyone has learned why Trevor was the most perfect, the ONLY, person who could adequately take over from Jon. Took awhile but watching these 2, & Trevor every night, is better than any history, civics or social justice class my son could attend. Jon has become our leader.....
I actually got teary-eyed listening to Stewart acknowledging Trevor and the team the way he did. As Trevor's predecessor, his words carry a weight and mean so much more than if they came from anyone else. Cheers to you both and thank you for what you have done and continue to do, gentlemen!
I got misty-eyed myself. That was a beautiful moment
He's actually done a fantastic job over the press tour touting the success of Noah. Stewart truly believes the show is better than it used to be.
They are very special people for all the right unique reasons individual to them. It’s so great to see the interactions between them.
I think Trevor was feeling the same way.
Both of them together is like frosting on the cake. Those two are the ones who keep my hope for humanithy going.
Why do I wish Trevor Noah was my friend in real life and John Stewart was like my uncle or something. I love these guys! Just DOPE individuals! ❤️

He'll take that up with management. Probably have to make a prosthesis to address this issue.

I thought he said pimples and I'm like HE HAS THE SMOOTHEST SKIN WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT YOU ADORABLE GREAT MAN? then I saw your comment. thanks for the clarification :D
No you are distracting becuase you rae absolutely hot!
The look on Trevor's face as someone he looks up to says he's super proud of how he's running the show he used to run is just pure joy.
Being praised like that by the old host years after he passed the torch on to you probably is a career high. It's like the force ghosts coming to give Luke a thumbs up at the end of the Return of the Jedi.
Seems odd that he can perfectly manicure his nails but he can't shave or trim his hair.
He looked like he was holding back tears. You can tell how much it meant to him.

You could tell how moved Trevor was when the great Jon Stewart regaled him with compliments. Miss you, Jon! Love you, Trevor!
trevor IS a sensitive little picses- very rare in comedy! he usually can hide it! (a very HOT and sensitive little Pisces, that is, and that's harder to hide!)

I prefer Hasan Minhaj and John Oliver as successors
Joh is the godfather of the Daily Show, but in many ways, Trevor was recruited not only for his god-given talents, but for his ability to communicate to a wider audience. Trevor's comedic banter & monologues hit note with younger generation. He is also more humble,. A better interviewer. Asking on point questions on a consistent basis. Whereas Jon is often self absorbed, which give off impression he loves listening to himself speak as he rambles into his own tangent world for great length of time. This may sound blasphemous, but I prefer Trevor Noah.
Marijuanifornia Wait, you think marijuana is going to save the world?
Should be “Quarantino”
When hand washing was first promoted for doctors there WAS a lot of resistance to it. We know better now, as we will probably all understand masks better soon.
Great point! And according to the documentary I watched about that very situation....the head doctor did EVERYTHING he could think of to explain his thinking that washing hands would make a difference.....he did SO MANY things to make it easy for his colleagues and med students to wash their hands...put sinks in every room, several sinks in every lab room.....and nobody listened! Why are humans so resistant to logic, I swear it is like we have a love affair with stupidity.
And I heard really recently, as late as this century, that hand washing was not considered that important among surgeons in Russia. Still struggling to get that concept across.
But what's frustrating is we do already understand them...they were what we used 100 years ago (which, also shout-out to the daily show for that information). What would be cool is if we learned about media bias and could make the news less tribal

Jon Stewart is a gift. He has such a good heart and truly cares about all people, and the health of is county.

En Steve Don’t you have your own group of UA-camrs to write you anti crappy negative comments! Go away! 😡. Baby Stevie!
I so wish he was still doing the show.
Trevor must have felt really good when Jon was praising him, he got huge shoes to fill and at the time a lot of people questioned him to be the new host instead of John Oliver or someone with more recognition. Trevor has made the show one of his own and is remarkable what he is doing with it.
in the end it worked out wonderfully, John Oliver got his own gig (love LWT) and Trevor got the daily show. in a previous interview Jon said he wanted Trevor to take over because he's so different from Jon, he would make the Daily Show his own thing and not try to imitate Jon and his style. I think that's also part of the success.
not saying John Oliver would have imitated Jon Stewart but perhaps they're a bit too similar and it wouldn't have been the same.
Benzaiten You can tell John draws a lot of inspiration from Stewart whether it’s purposeful or not.
I didn't want to question Jon Stewart's stamp of approval, didn't know who Trevor Noah was, but now realize Jon had insight that Trevor was great inside and just needed a medium to bloom. He has been my main source thru this pandemic since February!

You know what's kinda nuts...and shameful? Back when it was announced Trevor was taking over TDS....I wasn't that happy about it. I mostly thought, "Trevor who?" And I feel fucking stupid to admit, that when I heard (certain) people whining that it was merely "virtue signaling" to give the job to some young black guy...a tiny part of me thought, "hmm..." That's all. But still...how _dim_ of me. Like it didn't even occur to me that maybe Trever got the show....because he was perfect for it. And he is. I've more than warmed up to him...and now I'm a huge fan, including his excellent stand up. It was a small, but valuable lesson, that helped chip away some of my own myopic small-minded thinking. None of us are immune to stupidity or knee-jerk prejudice. But it's hugely important to _recognize_ it when it happens....and use it as a catalyst to become a better version of yourself.
Now, it could have been the case that Trevor turned out to be an awful choice who flubbed the whole thing. But that didn't happen. Instead, he stepped into some pretty huge shoes....and over time, showed everyone that he was up to the task of wearing those shoes. You don't hear people shitting on Trevor much these days....because I think we all now realize, he's the right person for the job....and came at just the right time in our history as a nation. Now.....I can't think of anyone, at all, who would be a better Daily Show host. He owns it.
Anyway....rant over. :P I just thought of all that immediately after watching this interview....between two men who both hosted this show. Huge respect and admiration for the both of them...

I LOVE that Jon is such a good, accommodating, give-and-take interviewee in general, but ESPECIALLY as a lifelong former creator/host. Even non media personalities can dominate interviews, and hosts and comedians (of which he is both) have a tendency to struggle with this balance on someone else's show. He's giving Trevor equal reverence and listens while he's listening and using a proportionate time to speak. God, just 2 great talents in their respective careers, and I'm so happy to see trevor find his place, grow and earn the audience and admiration he initially struggled to convince.

The student has become the master. Trevor is a new generation. ❤❤❤
The best part is that John immediately hit him with a moment of levity afterwards and that helped Trevor walk back from the intense emotions it looked like he was feeling. That was a very pleasant interaction, I'm glad I was able to learn another lesson on how to just be kind to a friend.
The day before, John was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and they both got emotional because they miss eachother so much. It was really sweet.
I wasnt really accepting of Trevor until Corona. Trevor has absolutely hit a home run
@@anthonybha4510 Yeah being at home has brought him to us in a whole new way. Now he'll always be in our hearts.
I really want to watch just a solid hour of dialogue between Trevor and Jon
Check out the new interview on Joe Rogan podcast with Jon Stewart. It's everything you need 😊
Also, have you checked out the Trevor Noah podcast? It's very good, Trevor plays off other people so well and he's doing his podcast with his best friend,a fellow south African comedian, David kubbuka. It's my absolute favorite thing Trevor Noah does
pro-tip: do video calls on a computer, move the window with the video towards the camera (typically upwards) so that the person's eyes are close to the screen edge where the camera is. Now you can look at the camera or look at the person and it's more or less precisely the same thing.
it can works without much effort on a phone because the distance from screen center to the lens is small.
Nobody should be a blindfollower of anybody whether its Trump or Obama or Bernie or anybody. But John Stewart is an exception. He is book of wisdom.
I cried big girl tears when Jon praised Trevor. Jon is such a genuine and inspirational person, to have him as a mentor and to hear this ... to see your protege shine and making you proud like this... 😭❤ I love them both so much.
God bless them both! It sure is fun to see the respect, admiration, joy and love between them. They are an excellent gift to our world and USA especially. Amen!
Trevor is a racist who thinks its is funny to joke that there are no beautiful black women. He should be fired
@@pieroocchooa5837 easy there peeko. Take your meds and get some rest ok.
Is he his protege though or his successor?
Made me vomit.
I cried when Jon Stewart retired and did his last show. I be watched him everyday since I was 11 every night. He’s was like the 3rd dad I never knew I needed. Haha. ❤️ And has been one of my biggest motivators.
Yes, he is a true inspiration as a man and human.
So sweet! Jon's compliment AND Trevor's face! Aww
1. I’ve missed Jon Stewart
2. Their interaction is so beautiful!!!
Trevor was starting to tear up. He is doing a handsome job. The more his hair grows out the cuter he is.
@@bradthompson5383 he didnt praise trump and his administration...he praise this two guys....
Aw, that's so sweet.
Trevor had big shoes to fill when Jon left the Daily Show, and he’s done a phenomenal job! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
He did
Agree. It’s been great to watch him grow into his own.
He really didn't emulate jon though, he kinda said "okay, but I want to be myself" and it was hard at first, but I think he's there, man!
@@butHomeisNowhere___ I think that's why he was chosen. He has his own style, but a thirst for knowledge and understanding that's important for diving into the issues. It shows through on his standup as much as it does in his interviews. He's just genuinely curious, intelligent, empathetic and funny.
Agree. He has made his own show. Quality and deep intelligence is what both shows share. Trevor was definitely a bit wobbly at first, but gained speed quickly.
Beautiful show, #JonStewart, you're amazing too! Love your final words - very touching. It feels like Corona has taught so many people how to be more real, more authentic, more vulnerable. Trevor, you're doing an awesome job; keep being you - ! I refuse to watch the news (the 'real' news), so this is how I get my updates about what's happening in the States. And I feel you do it with great sensitivity and enable us to see the picture from many sides. Thank you!
Trevor, so glad to see you looking happy, with the news being so heavy and distressing it's imperative to stay on top of your mental health. I hope you're well and healthy.
It’s like a father talking to a son 🥰
I would like Jon to run for public office. Senate or President.
I would have paid money to see him debate Trump.
Yessssssssssss I second that, Jon Stewart for President ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I do think he’d make a superb senator, but that he’d be willing to put up w/ all of the BS it entails. So doubt he’d want to be away from his family that much but who knows.
But then he must choose to be either Republican, individual or demo*
And that would just be..
Start local like state rep for Middleton or Colts Neck, NJ, maybe somewhere in NY, just so he can get a taste of what politics is & if it's right for him. Then run for house, maybe get a cabinet spot. He would be an awesome Press Secretary.
Two of the sharpest, most considered, thoughtful, comedic minds of our time.
“I think it wiser… not to keep open the

of those nations who endeavored to
obliterate the marks of civil strife,
to commit to oblivion
the feelings engendered.”
Robert E. Lee, 1869, when asked if Gettysburg should have a Confederate monument.
Am I the only one who has the impression that Trevor’s eyes got a little watery when Jon said the stuff at 11:59 ?
My eyes certainly did.
You're not the only one with that impression
@@chrishayes4323 , Same!.
I was thinking the same! It’s a lovely relationship between those two! ❤️
I saw that too. It also shows what a great mentor of Mr. Stewart! It takes a lot of kindness to recognize the successor is doing a great job!
Jon couldn't possibly have imagined just how well Trevor filled his shoes -- from having the best Trump impersonation, to being the only late night host to nail the new at-home format, to being the only late night host consistently having guests relevant to the renewed civil rights struggle. Jon should be very proud indeed.
Trevor didn't fill Jon's shoes, he put them aside and walked with the souls on his feet, embarking on his own path.
Trevor Noah and John Oliver are the goats right now that Jon Stewart is out.
Trevor is the cream de la crop! Prob the brightest & the most socially and politically conscious host of all. Love you Trev, Miss you John!
Trevor Noah pales in comparison. He's an entertainer, Jon came across as much more authentic.
How is Hasan Minaj consistently not included in these lists? He's absolutely killing it, and as much as I love Trevor Noah and the wisdom he brings, Patriot Act is the show that has most successfully adapted to not being in the studio.
I mean he's not wrong about the dimples but he puts it as only Jon Stewart can
I have stopped watching the news for years, thank you Jon and Trevor! I also think that your show from home version is heartfelt. #teamtrevordimples
Jon is a national treasure. I miss him and his humor and intellect so much.
The work he did for the 9/11 responders was phenomenal. He guilted the senate into finally taking action to help.
This!
It wasn’t guilting. It was public shaming that threatened their reelection. But I agree with you. Jon is so great
The sad part of that. That it took that to get it done. He sees sick humans and they saw bills. Just horrible😞
Irene Haralabatos you are correct. I did not word it properly.
ArgChica yes indeed and I suspect without Jon Stewart out there it might not have happened. Disgusting lot led by Moscow Mitch
Man I miss Jon. I love Trevor , I love that he took up hosting The Daily Show after Jon and I think he’s perfect, I truly do. But I still miss Jon Stewart.
We all miss Jon.
Love witnessing the two of you together. So funny. Heart smiling.
This is by far one of my favorite interviews ever - alongside the commentary, how wonderful to see the authentic admiration in Trevor's eyes - they obviously have a deep mutual respect and friendship - Jon even calls him son at the end.... it makes me love them both all the more!
"If you could do the show... Without dimples...!"
*dimple intensifies*
They're both weak AF
Gun Rights are Human Rights your profile name completely invalidates anything u say.
I’m glad I woke up on a Christmas morning at 2am and caught a comedy special by an amazing South African comedian who later became an eloquent voice in my nation’s time of turmoil. Thank you.
Huh? Its christmas?
@@jimbeam7636 Been hitting that Jim Beam too hard :)
Jim Beam No, the first time I saw any of Trevor Noah’s work was on a Christmas morning. Glad he went from obscure comedian to a voice of a movement. Life’s journeys.
@@Lennette20th the context seemed askew my apologies, but glad you found a good comedian like Trevor Noah
As someone who has been a fan of the daily show since 2005... yall are doing a great job. Just to reiterate.
so much love for both of these guys. having them on the same together is awesome.
I love Trevor's laugh, and the fact he appeals to so many different people because he's funny, smart, and clever.
Guess again
@Edward Gonzalez why are you even here? What an ignorant statement.
These two team up is like an Avengers level reunion
Falcon and Winter Soldier
It would be even more awesome with Colbert too!
Perfect? Great quote!
Oh Jon, you were - and still are - quite handsome. So glad to have seen this interview and see him acknowledge and praise all the work that Trevor and the current Daily Show crew do to make this happen, especially during such non-ideal circumstances. A class act.😁👍
This was a great movie!!! Jon Stewart is so great and so is Trevor!!
