      Considering Diomedes was being guided by Athena... Do you guys think that maybe in the next saga it'll be revealed that she was guiding Odysseus without his knowledge?
      Another thing that I haven't seen anyone mention: His eyes glow during this sequence, and glowing is heavily associated with gods and also... Monsters. Could that mean that Odysseus received blessing from the gods to temporally not be bound by his mortality?
      Regardless, whatever question people have about the finale, I'm sure Jorge is just waiting for the right time to confirm if our theories are right or wrong

      @scorpioneldar 2 місяці тому +27

      @@colt1903 yes. they skipped exactly what she did to him in those 7 years. just as they skipped exactly what Circi demanded from Ody to set his men free (well. in fairness with Circi they made her change her mind.) for exactly the same reason
      “In the nights, true, / he’d sleep with her in the arching cave - he had no choice - / unwilling lover alongside lover all too willing”
      Odysseus “sat on a headland, weeping there as always, / wrenching his heart with sobs and groans and anguish, / gazing out over the barren sea through blinding tears”
      that's what she's supposed to be sorry for. not "loving you" but raping a married man for 7 years. so yeah. just a little bit missing from this story.
      like... even the ancient Greeks made a big deal out of this.. homer put it in plane text. this goes on for pages. these are just enough to let you know what happened and how it affected him. there is a REASON people like mortius and I DESPISE her. no matter how nice her songs make her sound.

      AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I had heard the deeper voice behind him, i NEVER would have imagined that it was Polyphemus, I assumed it was just the effect of a god at 100% pissed off about to shatter the actual ocean, but Polyphemus singing along is brilliant

    • @colt1903
      @colt1903 2 місяці тому +11

      It's an interesting theory, but so far the Livestream Animatic has no sign of Polyphemus. It's just him conjuring a Giant Water Clone of himself and his own voice becoming more monstrous as he prepares to unleash his "GOD MOVE: Shatter The Ocean". He probably only sounds like Polyphemus when his voice gets like that as symbolism.
      For now, at least. Maybe he'll change it in future versions of the Saga. It's still only a concept album, after all.

    • @keithwest1761
      @keithwest1761 2 місяці тому +3

      @colt1903 I mean that is fair, but also it’s not like something didn’t happen just because we don’t see it nice animation. Take the Circe Saga for example. In “Puppeteer”, we know after the fact that Hermes was listening in, and that is canonical, even though we don’t see it. But we can hear it with a little bit of lyre at one point in the instrumental. Same would be true for this. Yes we don’t SEE it happen, but it could be happening through the audio in the same way.
      Also, to clarify in case this was just due to misunderstanding, I’m not saying Polyphemus is ACTUALLY singing with him. What I am trying to bring to light is the fact that I believe it is supposed to represent his desire for revenge being fulfilled by his father. His anger so concentrated it can be heard.
      This isn’t me saying you’re wrong, or to shut up. Just saying, it could be possible and wanted to explain myself. Thanks for reading!

    INTERESTING FACT ABOUT "GET IN THE WATER":
    When Ody tries to appeal to Poseidon's humanity to forgive him one last time he attempts to use the trumpet, the ocean god's instrument, along with his motif, looking to get the Ruthlessness motif a new meaning, the opossite feeling.
    "Maybe you could learn to forgive" has the same melody and instrument as
    "Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves" only higher and softer.
    This serves to show how the notion of forgiveness is void on Poseidon and as he said "has no mercy left to give".

    From what I gather from a few myths, the gods can be harmed. Ares was once defeated by twin giants and they trapped him in a jar for a long time. Thanatos was captured by a mortal man, King Sisyphus, using divine chains made by Hephaestus that were originally meant for Sisyphus. He locked Thanatos in a chest so that he couldn't drag his soul to the underworld to be punished, and as long as Thanatos was trapped, nothing died.

    The last third of 600 Strike always gives me goosebumps and I DELIGHT in seeing others feel the same. Ody being so tired, so angry, and just so......done with everything big gods have put him through. Killing Hector's son, seeing his men die/betray him due to others cruelty. Putting him through hell of the worst kind and denying him getting home. Cause of Zeus, and cause of Poseidon.
    Odysseus right here shows why vengeance gives you nothing but a cycle of pain as he puts Poseidon right in the victim's spotlight. And makes him see just what it is like to be on the other side of that hateful violence. It really is scary to think about. Part of me revels in Odysseus getting some payback on this bully. But my heart, the brighter part of me, just feels nothing but sorrow for both Ody and Poseidon alike here...man this makes me feel stuff.

    Hello folks, some time ago Gwendy theorized about what the dead on the No Longer You music were singing, which was too distorted to understand, we don't have a confirmation, yet it makes sense, hopefully we'll know for sure in the future.
    ALSO THERE MAY HAVE SPOILERS ON THE 6th VERSE. DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANNA KNOW.
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    The lines theorized are:
    "Siren Song"
    "Scylla Throat"
    "Mutiny"
    "Lighting bolt"
    "Whirlpool, Poseidon" (Whirlpool being Charybdis)
    "Kill all the Suitors for love"
    We can also see that Tiresias's predictions came to life (as Casper noticed the no longer you at the end of Six Hundred Strike, I love this man..)
    "I see you on the brink of death, I see you draw your final breath" on Get in the Water.
    "I see a man who gets to make it home alive, but it's no longer you." Six Hundred Strike
    The way I see it Odysseus had never fully transformed into the monster, even in his last moments in fear and close to home he still tried to appeal to Poseidon's emotions, to a non-existing humanity in the god. It reminded me of Luck Runs Out: "I still believed in goodness, I still believe that we could be kind." The last of Odysseus hope and own humanity.
    He had to give up entirely on his old self in the end, terrifying and deserved for Poseidon. The whole arc of him becoming villainous and monstrous is just heartbreaking.

    My personal take on the voices are that they're both 'in the wind' like an echo of the calls at sea years ago. That and the chorus of Odysseus' divine blood being awoken/boosted by ares. Like the voices he summons are the ones that define who he is.
