Before you read this comment no I am not defending Logan Sargeant but I want to say this his weekend this weekend was not bad because while yes he did crash in FP3 which is not good he didn't do terribly compare to Zhou and sadly I have to say this Bottas since I was surprised he finished 16th and finished a couple of cars ahead not only the Saubers of course. Zhou on the other hand was 1 second off his teammate and was so far behind Valterri Bottas in the race who also had a moserable weekend as well so I don't think Logan Sargeant was bad this weekend compare to Zhou and maybe Bottas as well. The question is how are we going to compare him to Zhou for the rest of the season since Logan got sacked already while Zhou is still keep on going and remember you did ranked Zhou behind Logan Sargeant in your mid season ranking?!
Colapinto first Argentine driver since Gaston Marzipan in 2001 For anyone who is confused: On ITV F1 coverage Tony Jardine would almost always call Gaston Mazzacane 'Marzipan'. E.g. "On the back row we have Zonta 21st and Marzipan 22nd" Race Day Replay UA-cam channel has clips of the old races where you can hear him say this.
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Both Gaston Marzipan and Nikita Marzispin did 21 races before getting sacked. Midway though 2000 Martin Brundle said something like "Mazzacane has proved he can cut it at this level" 😂😂

Hiya Josh, Firstly, we have had some breaking news as Sargeant has imminently been dropped as he will be replaced by Colapinto next weekend at Monza. I mean, firstly I do feel a little bit sorry for Logan as I think he should have seen out the full season and enjoy his last two homes grand prixs at COTA and Las Vegas but at the same time, he should have really gone last year and the fact he has continued this far has been a surprise. I mean he is a really sweet guy, not political or egoistic but Williams had to make a call especially after that big crash in Zandvoort. I will be really interested to see how Franco gets on for the remainder of the season. It does seem strange just having a temp driver only for 9 races but they are just having someone to cover for the remainder of the season before Carlos jumps in next year. I do wish Logan all the best with what he does next, most likely Indycar. 😊 As for the other Williams driver Alex Albon, I agree 7 is a fair mark. He was really unlucky after qualifying as the floor error was the teams fault and not Alex's fault. It was especially frustrating that it was only by a fine margin . His family put a story on Instagram to say they had ordered a Nando's to celebrate his P8 but then had to cancel the order as he got disqualified! Aww, I felt for them too. Alex did an amazing job and it wasn't his fault what happened. ❤ It is getting exciting now isn't it , the championship battle. I do think Mclaren can take the constructors title. The drivers a little more doubtful but if Lando keeps it up, we could have him as world champion this year and that would be awesome!!! I may be a bit optimistic there though! 😂 I was chatting to my cousin on Sunday who is studying finance at University and he did some work experience at Mercedes. I asked him how he got on and he said, it was really exciting and he worked in the finance department but also learnt a little bit about the engineering side as well after chatting to some staff. He said , they are very optimistic about the 2026 regulations. I aksed him if he was following the season F1 and he said, he saw some races but not followed the full season. He asked me if I had been watching the season and if Albon is still my favourite as I haven't really seen him since Christmas. I briefly saw him at Easter but didnt get chance to talk about F1 I said, yeah I have been following the season and yeah, Albon is still my favourite. He is like the underdog! My cousin does support Mercedes when he watches the races. He also felt sorry for Alex in qualifying after losing P8. We got talking about Lewis going to Ferrari and Sainz going to Williams next year. It was a great chat and a great day with the family! His sister had a lovely time in Thailand and was showing me photos! They had also been to Spain with my aunt and uncle so we were chatting about that too😊❤
Hiya Helen, Yes, I've seen that, Logan had to go. As nice a guy as he is, his time had come. Clearly that crash in FP3 was the straw for Williams. A lot of damage and very poor pace this year. While I don't think Colapinto will be a massive improvement, he has a lot to learn in a short space of time, I think if he can just stay on the road and not make silly errors that will be all that's required of him for the rest of the year. ❤️ Alex I hope can have a great end to the year now. The pace of that Williams looks improved and maybe just maybe the Q3 appearances and points can become a little more common in the remaining races. 😊🤞 Oh that's great to hear your cousin had a great work experience at Mercedes. 😊 That sounds really good for Mercedes if they're confident about the 2026 regulations, they've been good before with massive engine regulation changes, look at 2014! I think they'll hit the ground running and be really competitive. 👍 That's great you got to chat to him about F1 this season in a bit more detail too and awesome to hear he loves to support an underdog. I think sometimes I've cheered more for a points finish than I have a win. 😂 That's what it's all about, the feel good moments of our sport. Sadly they can't all stay that way, like Alex's qualifying in Zandvoort but we always route for them and keep dreaming that one day they will get what they deserve. 😊❤️
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Yes, Logan's crash in FP3 just looked a sign that he lost all his confidence and as brutal as a mid season sacking is , it was possibly a relief in some ways for Logan to get out of that pressure cooker of F1 asap and for Williams it would certainly help with damage costs. It was clear that Alex and Logan had a lot of respect for one another and Alex has just put a lovely farewell message to Logan saying: "I know firsthand how brutal this sport can be & it’s tough to see Logan leave the team mid-season. You gave it your all brother and it’s been a pleasure being teammates with you. I know whatever you do next, you’ll be awesome. " I am sure if Logan sees this message from Alex, he will be touched.❤️ Do you think with Colapinto , Williams want to test him out to see if he could be a decent F1 driver in a few years if either Sainz or Albon find another team to go to after 2026/2027? Yeah, me and my cousin Toby had a great chat over the weekend about F1 and his time working at Mercedes as work experience. I love to support an underdog as you know and I know you do too! 😊❤️ Alex is like the underdog of the 2019 rookies and I love all them so supporting one of the 2019 rookies who is an underdog is like the perfect match 😊❤️.
@@helenballinger5213 I agree with you. I think he needed out just as much as Williams needed him out. The pressure he's been put under must be immense and even though Williams have backed him all the way, it can't have been nice for Logan to know he wasn't performing and then trying to hard and making more mistakes. A vicious circle sadly. Alex is great and I've no doubt Alex will miss Logan being around. They clearly had great respect for each other and I've no doubt they've spoken to each other directly and not just via messages on social media. ❤️ I think it is evaluation time for Colapinto, despite the fact they have Sainz for 2025 and beyond, it's always good give the Test/Reserve driver time in an actual try out during full races weekends and this really is a great opportunity for Colapinto to show what he can do. 😊 I'm not really sure what they can do with him beyond this season other than just put him back to being a Test driver again for 2025 and beyond but nonetheless it's a great chance for him to show that he deserves to be in F1. 👍 That's great that you all had great chat and even better that we all support underdogs. 😊❤️
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman yeah, there is nothing worse than being trapped in a team struggling so much and its affecting your confidence and more mistakes follow. I am sure Logan will find success in another series that is far less straining than F1 😊. It is nice that Alex is supporting him through this tough news and as he knows what its like from his time at Red Bull, it doesn't make Logan feel alone 😊❤️ It's the Italian Grand Prix this weekend which I always look forward to. I do like Monza as a track and it has thrown up nice surprises in the past. It does also make me crave for pasta and a big bowl of it, if I enjoy the race! 😋 So lets hope its a great race then!
Yeah it's probably best for all involved really and Sargeant can take the rest of the year out to reassess and go again in 2025. Alex is a great teammate and support to those around him, once again he's shown that. ❤️ I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens at Monza too, it's a great track, amazing fans and is usually a great race. I'm really looking forward to it. 👍
Aston Martin will likely be slow at Monza this weekend. As in they might not be fighting for points even. In 2022 it was one of the few races Vettel wasn't fighting for points, even before his engine failed. They arguably had the slowest car that weekend. In 2023 Alonso did the absolute best he could and probably more so. Qualified 10th and finished 9th. Alonso even ranked this as his best non-podium race of 2023, I'd be tempted to agree somewhat with that.
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Alonso would've finished 9th if he didn't pit that 2nd time. They were no worse in pace at Monza than they were in 2023 which is something I guess.
@TheMoaningYorkshireman That Aston Martin car is shit, let's be honest. Think the fact he would've finished P9 if not for that 2nd pit stop on their 2nd worst track probably is a good effort tbh. Just didn't do quite enough in the end to finish there. Albon and Williams did well. Probably joint 5th best car or 6th just behind Haas is about what I expected tbh. Wasn't sure how good Haas would be but that car is alright everywhere it seems. Racing Bulls are favouring Ricciardo. I wonder how long it is until I become famous for saying this. Apparently Ricciardo had the upgrades again and Tsunoda didn't but not 100% sure. Wouldn't at all surprise me though. Zhou Guanyu...
@@willf1sv5 I was impressed by the tyre life once again from that Haas. 😊 Williams struggled towards the end but did enough to hold off Alonso and stay within 10secs of K-Mag.
People are totally forgetting that 2023 Williams car was designed with the previous technical direction. Can't remember his name but he left when Jost Capito left at the end of 2022. Everyone is acting like James Vowles has made this team so much better. He hasn't at all, Capito was the one who started this rebuilding. First car designed with him as team principal and they go backwards. James needs to shut up, making all these excuses.
@TheMoaningYorkshireman I think it always in Jost's plan to only do 3 seasons as team boss. Before handing the role on to someelse who can be for the long term.. In the end Jost did 2 seasons.
Lance mostly kept it on the black stuff (more than I can say for some others) but just wore out his welcome. Honestly, I think you're being too kind. When he does another bonehead move, loses his car & gets DSQ from Cruel Wall it might be too painful for him. This is kind of like euthanizing your dog before he eventually runs into traffic & gets hit by a car. It's probably the right thing to do. I absolve you.
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman but I get your rating of 7.5. Did take a while to get past max and that start again. Though Oscar had the same start as lando and that’s unusual for Oscar to have a bad start. Monza, they will need a good start because that run to Turn 1 is long
i have missed these i kinda already knew the outcome with lando he always get overtook within lap 1 he needs to sort that quickly if he wants to contend for the driver championship all he has to do is win all the next races with 5 fastest laps and he will win it with 2 points spare
Yeah, he needs to sort that out. He needs to just get pole and win, no dramas or come backs through the field because it won't work! I hope he can mount a genuine challenge but I'm doubtful, I think the points deficit is just too much for Lando to claw back realistically.
@@fergie7799 You've got to think though, up until the likes of Imola, Miami, Canada where McLaren showed consistent winning pace, no one other than Red Bull and Max were even thought about winning the titles. Now McLaren are just 30 points behind Red Bull in the Constructors which I believe they can win and as for drivers title, we imagine it would all be just about wrapped up by now so the fact there's even a chance for Lando shows how much Red Bull have dropped off and how much McLaren have improved. 😊
Can't wait for a documentary in years to come about this "so-called" title fight between Verstappen and Norris. 😂😂 Feels like when people in 2019 and 2020 said Bottas can win the championship. It's so obvious there's no absolutely chance.
I mean, when Canada came around that race made it quite clear Bottas was not winning the title that season and Germany made it painfully and blindingly obvious. 2020 there was a title fight after race 3. 🤣🤣
@willf1sv5 Well, in 19 he got about as close as Vettel did in 2018 in parts somewhat. Canada and Germany that season were the 2 moments where I felt he blew his half-chance if it was even that. I don't even believe we can call 2020 a championship fight tbh. Austria he was good but he weren't setting the world alight after that.
Wasn't exactly a brilliant race even though the weekend was interesting. Here are my scores for this race weekend: Norris: 9.5 (All he needs to do is work on race starts, his pole lap was stellar and he simply had the pace) Verstappen: 9.5 (Only negative was a couple whines about the car, otherwise maximized what he had to work with) Leclerc: 9.5 (Funny how I gave all three podium finishers a 9.5. Qualifying maybe should've gone better, but Ferrari didn't screw up strategy like Mercedes did) Piastri: 6.5 (Bit of an off weekend, P2 was definitely possible but it's still 12 useful points for McLaren) Sainz: 8 (Was a tough Saturday but a strong recovery drive.) Perez: - (His first Top 6 since Miami(?) Yeah, still not close enough to Max and would've scored a 2 if he wasn't DQ'd already. He was so whiny about the Q1 incident with HAM and was still whining even though he ended that session in P1) Russell: 6 (Strong qualifying but race was wrecked by going for the 2 stop strategy. So hard to judge properly) Hamilton: 6 (Qualifying was a disaster, Race was solid. Penalty was... eh? Drivers have gotten away with worse in the past but it's whatever because PER made it worse.) Gasly: 10 (Something about Gasly and Zandvoort. Stellar weekend from him.) Alonso: (7) (Put in a solid race though would've been hoping to finish ahead of Gasly) Hulkenberg: 8 (His practice shunts looked like they were caused by rear locking issues so he can't really get scored low especially since he was in with a chance of points) Ricciardo: 7 (Qualifying wasn't good but his race was. The 1 stop was so much better than the 2 stop.) Stroll: 4.5 (Speeding penalty was careless, just wasn't quite on terms with Alonso anyway) Albon: 7 (Getting disqualified from after qualifying P8 totally wrecked what looked to be an excellent weekend but it didn't really look like he made too much progress) Ocon: OTW (Only because he was insanely whiny on the radio at the end of Q1. Save it for the debrief Esteban, because you sounded childish) Sargeant: 0.5 (His FP3 crash looked similar to Maldonado's FP2 crash at Spa in 2014, like he lost track of where he was. Finishing P16 *just* saves him from an OTW because his pace looked okay though even if he did somehow snag a Top 10 he would've only scored a 2) Tsunoda: 2 (Bad strategy? Check. Unnecessary whining on the radio? Check. Finished ahead of Sargeant? No he did not. I don't think the Mediums were a bad tyre, he just made them feel bad) Magnussen: 3 (A nothingy weekend. Interesting tactic created a 5 car battle into Turn 1 but he got passed by all 4 of the others so it was pointless) Bottas: OTWx2 ((Bruno Senna: "In the last three races of my Formula 1 career I collided with Vettel three times because I was situationally oblivious!) I honestly don't care that the Sauber was terrible around Zandvoort and was effectively like Caterham in 2014. Did nothing and being the better Sauber driver isn't hard at all anyway.) Zhou: -1000 ((Chef Gordon: "Zhou though he could cut it as a Formula 1 driver. Unfortunately for him he proved this weekend that he was still too raw and was just in a world of his own") My god are the bottom 3 drivers (PER, SAR and ZHO) just completely pathetic. They make Stroll look like he could win a championship no problem!)

@@braydenblackburn6738 Absolutely bud, Sauber have backing from Audi now but my God 2025 is going to be a bust too.... 🙄 I feel for Hulkenberg but he must be getting a fat pay cheque for that deal.
I understand and agree why you scored Lando lower. Still happy he won but reserving judgement to see if he can keep this up. Very nice seeing Red Bull though no longer dominant now and that McLaren at least has caught up. In other news, saying goodbye to Logan Sergeant. Can't say I'm surprised though was surprised at who is taking his place. Hope Colapinto just keeps it clean and less crashy. You do right by not featuring the knob asshole Jos Verstappen.
It was just a frustrating start to the race for Lando but he did get the job done in the end. It's great to see McLaren now the dominant car, it's taken enough years to get back to the top and now they're finally there. They've dropped the ball a few times this season already to not have more wins but I'm sure the rest of the year they can recover what they lost. 👍 Red Bull no longer dominating. It is a surprise, especially the gap they had in Bahrain, everyone quickly caught up! Mental! Goodbye Logan. 👋 A great guy but sadly couldn't cut it in F1. It was right to drop him after that FP3 crash.
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Yeah agreed. I did like Logan and hope he does have better luck elsewhere like IndyCar or sports cars. Just hope McLaren don't cock it all up for restvif year and 2025.
@@adamjow8405 I'm sure he will get an Indy drive and thrive there or maybe even sports cars. As for McLaren, they need to stop having slow starts to the years, okay they get better each year but still always don't seem to have the pace until 4 or 5 rounds in. If they want to mount a genuine title fight they need to hit the ground running.
Both Russell and Antonelli contracts end in 2025. Toto really does seem to see huge potential in Antonelli. Russell MUST step up next season otherwise any chance he has of winning a championship in the future could vanish.
It's going to be an interesting year next year. I honestly believe it's the make or break year for Russell and if he bottles it, I don't think it will be his F1 career over just yet but I do believe he will be dropped by Mercedes and a lower team will have him for his experience within Mercedes.
@TheMoaningYorkshireman Russell has always been an and off in his F1 career tbh. 2019: Solid 2020: Average (bottled almost every points chance in that Williams) 2021: Good 2022: Very good 2023: Bad 2024: Average
Hi Josh hope you’re doing well that a meh race wasn’t it f1 has got a lot of issues at the moment not just racing but generally and sadly the future could be worse but I’m optimistic with the new regs in 26 👍
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman yes it’s certainly did FORZA FERRARI so happy for Charles wearing a Ferrari too admit it’s the 2021 but it’s Ferrari and that what counts 😍👍
This race doesn't change my opinion on Norris. He drove well but that car was totally dominant this weekend. It feels like he's doing the bare minimum whenever he does win. Myself and Crystal Racing have said basically the same thing: Norris not one of the best 3 drivers this race and the sheer pace of the McLaren car won him this race.
Magnussen finally gets his 1 race ban. I don't think it's harsh one bit, with his driving over the years he's almost been asking for this to happen. This ban is overdue imo, he is not capable of learning.
I think given the context of what he did with Gasly it's incredibly harsh. It was decent move, a bit of contact, neither driver affected and no advantage gained... That was just hard racing with an unfortunate lock up in the braking zone as he was squeezed towards the kerb. He certainly has learned as look at all the cars he overtook cleanly in that race. Let's not forget Ricciardo, 5sec time penalty and no penalty points for forcing Hulkenberg off track in a high speed braking zone with no run off area, that was the more dangerous move.
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Still though the ban is deserved overall. Just because he overtook a few drivers cleanly does mean not he has learned. Far from it.
@@willf1sv5 In this specific instance though it's been incredibly harsh to award him 10sec and 2 penalty points, especially considering what Ricciardo did and only got 5sec and no penalty points in the exact same race. I cover it all in The Cruel Room anyway. 👍
@TheMoaningYorkshireman They probably gave Magnussen that penalty because they didn't give him the race ban after Monaco. They had an opportunity to do it here so they did it now is my opinion. I have no sympathy for Magnussen, he has been asking for this to happen and it's finally happened. I will not miss him one bit when he leaves the grid at the end of the season. He didn't deserve to keep the seat for this season to be brutally honest.
@@willf1sv5 I'm just looking at what he actually did this weekend because that's how I base every race and he did exceptionally well and you can't deny that, regardless of the FIA penalty and his subsequent ban for Baku. Do I think he deserves to be on the grid, no, did he deserve a race ban, yes, do I sympathise that they've decided to do it now, absolutely. I can't cover what I want to say properly in the comments but I cover it in The Cruel Room in depth, you will understand where I'm coming from then. 😊
@@willf1sv5 Well we'll see. I'm reserving judgement for now. Next year will tell the story. Over winter the changes he implemented were massive and that will have an affect on the development of the car.
@TheMoaningYorkshireman Appearently if Williams are this bad again next year the owners might bin James Vowles. Some well respected Dutch journalists have been told this could happen.
I am confused Logan Sargeant who had a better year compare to zhou this year he has been sacked but Zhou is still saying for the team until the end of the season so stupid by James Vowles if Sauber team principal whoever that guy is kept Zhou James Vowles should of kept Logan Sargeant as well. Whoever is the team principal of Sauber tell me because I want to know the guys name.
Braking issues though in regards to the FP crashes. Even Haas have admitted they found the left rear brake was grabbing to harshly causing instant lock ups.
Leclerc and Norris had their issues, Norris with his start, Leclerc didn't really get going in the 1st quarter of the race but they almost share DOTD imo. Verstappen pretty damn good, potentially a victim of his own success though. Piastri had the reverse Leclerc and those 3 with 7.5s were all decent. Stroll's strategy was a little off so I feel for him a little there but he done alright. In another universe, Hamilton probably had a 9/10 weekend, in this world not quite and Sainz smooth comeback lol! 😎
Verstappen, Leclerc and Gasly all drove better than Norris imo. I struggle to see anything they could have done better tbh. We've all marked down the likes of Vettel, Verstappen and Hamilton in years previous seasons if they don't get Pole or if they lost the lead at the start when they had superior cars. Juat because it's Norris doesn't mean we can just not say anything.
@willf1sv5 What I will say with Vettel tbf is he did manage to grand slam back-to-back races so you know... Only driver to do that in the 21st century iirc.
I think you’re spot on Will. Those couldn’t have done any better in the cars they were in, whereas Lando fluffed the start up. Lando could have won by larger margin if it weren’t for his error at the start.
@willf1sv5 He turned from Crystal Racing to Tommo F1 the 2nd for the weekend. Even I cannot defend that, Hulkenburg who scored 0 points was not better than the guy who hattricked, really should not matter in what context. 😂
@willf1sv5 To be giving athletes awards for failure just doesn't really sit right with me tbh. He scored no points when I feel as though he could maybe have got 9th. Possibly, he could've beaten Alonso to the final point as well but I cannot give Driver of the Day to 11th place.
I think everytime Norris gets Pole or win for the rest of the season Dave will do a short saying Norris for world champion. 😂😂😂 Hookster has even said he'll be even more unbearable if Norris by some absolute miracle wins the championship. Hookster is already unbearable. I struggle to see how he could be more so. 😂😂
@willf1sv5 Apart from 2 harsh Lammers which I guess are somewhat understandable given you've thrown people out and the Norris score; this actually ain't that bad. Clearly that brainy book is somewhat working. 😂😂
@saiyerugara9038 Yeah perhaps those Lammers are a bit harsh but couldn't think of anyone else eligible I could choose. At the same though I've probably awarded Piastri in particular more points this season than he probably should have. So it evens itself out in the end. So many disqualifications does mean some average performances might end up being Of the week worthy simply because the drivers who drove worse are disqualified and in some cases double disqualified.
The championship fight is FULLY ON according to everyone at Sky F1. Verstappen this season isn't showing championship winning form. According to David Croft that is... 🙄 Thank god he won't be in Baku. How anyone can like his commentary I will never understand.
@TheMoaningYorkshireman Some people are saying if he wins today and Max finishes 6th or whatever Norris will be championship favourite. 😂🙄 Excluding 2022 and 2023 Red Bull have struggled at Monza in this hybrid era. They had no Monza podiums for 8 seasons.
Norris is not good enough to win a championship. He will only ever win a championship in a far superior car unless if he improves. People who think he can win this championship, I'm sorry to say but you're totally wrong and deluded. Absolutely no chance Nlrris wins this championship, even if he wins all remaining races (0% chance anyways) he could still lose the championship.
@TheMoaningYorkshireman Feels like this season is somewhat a repeat of 1991. Senna won all the first 4 races, Mansell retired from all the first 3 races. Mansell won 3 races in a row mid season (France, Britain, Germany) followed by wins later in the season at Monza and Spain. In this span of races Senna only won twice as Williams became the dominant car. Senna won the championship at Japan (R15/16) and ended the season 24 points ahead of Mansell. Admittedly 1991 Mansell more consistent, more ruthless and less error-prone compared to 2024 Norris. Berger won Japan as Senna gave him the win as he was already Champion with Mansell spinning out. Senna won the season finale in Australia. The race where only 16/82 laps were completed. Feels like this season could end being something like this with Verstappen winning by 50 points or so.
@TheMoaningYorkshireman Norris has bottled this championship to be brutally honest. He's thrown away far too many wins and points in general. Norris just needs to win as many races as he can this season to prove he can deliver somewhat.
@@willf1sv5 I agree. While McLaren weren't on the pace of Red Bull until Miami, from then on it should've been Lando domination and it just hasn't for one reason or another.

I agree with you on that. He didn't actually do bad after the crash, it was clearly the crash that was the final straw for Williams.

I do wish Logan all the best with what he does next, most likely Indycar. 😊
As for the other Williams driver Alex Albon, I agree 7 is a fair mark. ❤
It is getting exciting now isn't it , the championship battle. I do think Mclaren can take the constructors title. The drivers a little more doubtful but if Lando keeps it up, we could have him as world champion this year and that would be awesome!!! I may be a bit optimistic there though! 😂
I was chatting to my cousin on Sunday who is studying finance at University and he did some work experience at Mercedes. They had also been to Spain with my aunt and uncle so we were chatting about that too😊❤
Hiya Helen,
Yes, I've seen that, Logan had to go. ❤️
Alex I hope can have a great end to the year now. The pace of that Williams looks improved and maybe just maybe the Q3 appearances and points can become a little more common in the remaining races. 😊🤞
Oh that's great to hear your cousin had a great work experience at Mercedes. 😊 That sounds really good for Mercedes if they're confident about the 2026 regulations, they've been good before with massive engine regulation changes, look at 2014! I think they'll hit the ground running and be really competitive. 👍
That's great you got to chat to him about F1 this season in a bit more detail too and awesome to hear he loves to support an underdog.
It was clear that Alex and Logan had a lot of respect for one another and Alex has just put a lovely farewell message to Logan saying:
"I know firsthand how brutal this sport can be & it’s tough to see Logan leave the team mid-season. You gave it your all brother and it’s been a pleasure being teammates with you. I know whatever you do next, you’ll be awesome. " I am sure if Logan sees this message from Alex, he will be touched.❤️
Do you think with Colapinto , Williams want to test him out to see if he could be a decent F1 driver in a few years if either Sainz or Albon find another team to go to after 2026/2027?
That's great that you all had great chat and even better that we all support underdogs. 😊❤️
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman yeah, there is nothing worse than being trapped in a team struggling so much and its affecting your confidence and more mistakes follow. I am sure Logan will find success in another series that is far less straining than F1 😊. It is nice that Alex is supporting him through this tough news and as he knows what its like from his time at Red Bull, it doesn't make Logan feel alone 😊❤️
It's the Italian Grand Prix this weekend which I always look forward to.

We shall see but as you say, based on previous form it could be yet another difficult weekend for them.... 🙄
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Alonso would've finished 9th if he didn't pit that 2nd time. They were no worse in pace at Monza than they were in 2023 which is something I guess.
@@willf1sv5 Agreed.

Yeah, agreed that Capito built the foundations of Williams improvements. It's a shame he left.

Wasn't exactly a brilliant race even though the weekend was interesting. Here are my scores for this race weekend:
Norris: 9.5 (All he needs to do is work on race starts, his pole lap was stellar and he simply had the pace)
Verstappen: 9.5 (Only negative was a couple whines about the car, otherwise maximized what he had to work with)
Leclerc: 9.5 (Funny how I gave all three podium finishers a 9.5. Qualifying maybe should've gone better, but Ferrari didn't screw up strategy like Mercedes did)
Piastri: 6.5 (Bit of an off weekend, P2 was definitely possible but it's still 12 useful points for McLaren)
Sainz: 8 (Was a tough Saturday but a strong recovery drive.)
Perez: - (His first Top 6 since Miami(?) Yeah, still not close enough to Max and would've scored a 2 if he wasn't DQ'd already. He was so whiny about the Q1 incident with HAM and was still whining even though he ended that session in P1)
Russell: 6 (Strong qualifying but race was wrecked by going for the 2 stop strategy. So hard to judge properly)
Hamilton: 6 (Qualifying was a disaster, Race was solid. Penalty was... eh? Drivers have gotten away with worse in the past but it's whatever because PER made it worse.)
Gasly: 10 (Something about Gasly and Zandvoort. Stellar weekend from him.)
Alonso: (7) (Put in a solid race though would've been hoping to finish ahead of Gasly)
Hulkenberg: 8 (His practice shunts looked like they were caused by rear locking issues so he can't really get scored low especially since he was in with a chance of points)
Ricciardo: 7 (Qualifying wasn't good but his race was. The 1 stop was so much better than the 2 stop.)
Stroll: 4.5 (Speeding penalty was careless, just wasn't quite on terms with Alonso anyway)
Albon: 7 (Getting disqualified from after qualifying P8 totally wrecked what looked to be an excellent weekend but it didn't really look like he made too much progress)
Ocon: OTW (Only because he was insanely whiny on the radio at the end of Q1. Save it for the debrief Esteban, because you sounded childish)
Sargeant: 0.5 (His FP3 crash looked similar to Maldonado's FP2 crash at Spa in 2014, like he lost track of where he was. Finishing P16 *just* saves him from an OTW because his pace looked okay though even if he did somehow snag a Top 10 he would've only scored a 2)
Tsunoda: 2 (Bad strategy? Check. Unnecessary whining on the radio? Check. Finished ahead of Sargeant? No he did not. I don't think the Mediums were a bad tyre, he just made them feel bad)
Magnussen: 3 (A nothingy weekend. Interesting tactic created a 5 car battle into Turn 1 but he got passed by all 4 of the others so it was pointless)
Bottas: OTWx2 ((Bruno Senna: "In the last three races of my Formula 1 career I collided with Vettel three times because I was situationally oblivious!) I honestly don't care that the Sauber was terrible around Zandvoort and was effectively like Caterham in 2014. Did nothing and being the better Sauber driver isn't hard at all anyway.)

I agree. He's behind Leclerc, Verstappen, Gasly easily in my eyes.

Hi Will noticed that a certain channel has been DSQ 😂😂😂 2024 is certain a bad year for Dave 😭😂
Yeah, fair scores those actually.
😂😂😂
The championship fight is FULLY ON according to everyone at Sky F1. Verstappen this season isn't showing championship winning form. According to David Croft that is... 🙄
Thank god he won't be in Baku. How anyone can like his commentary I will never understand.
😂😂😂 They love to hype!
@@TheMoaningYorkshireman Everyone is just assuming Norris will win every remaining race 😂😂😂
@@willf1sv5 Yeah I know.... It's a crazy thought! 🤣
@TheMoaningYorkshireman Some people are saying if he wins today and Max finishes 6th or whatever Norris will be championship favourite. 😂🙄
Excluding 2022 and 2023 Red Bull have struggled at Monza in this hybrid era. They had no Monza podiums for 8 seasons.
@@willf1sv5 People are just stupid... 🙄
I mean with 9 races left he's got to outscore more Max heavily. There's no way it's going to happen unless something ridiculous happens.
@@willf1sv5 Wow, I can't remember that far back off the top of my head but it does sound similar. 👍
