    You make people feel like they stand a chance just by imparting the knowledge so well and also making sense of the DAW by de-mystifying it's functions...... Big Thanks.

    This really helped me, I am doing vocals for the first time and I wanted to have a bigger sound. I did more than one vocal track but because they never lined up I had to delete all tracks but one. Now I see if I do it like this I can get that wide sound and tight.

    I would record your tracks with a good deal more gain. Your waveforms look a little bit scant. It'll help to soak up noise in the mix.

    Make the copied tracks stereo and insert a dual mono version of pitch shifter then put left at +3 right at -3 on first copied track, then left-6 and +6 right on second copied track for a thicker sound. Mix to taste.

    Nice one man this is great.
    Just a quick question on the last part about setting up the effect channel (the one you set up under the main vocal with the delay).
    Can you then set up a volume automation so you can choose when and where the delay effect comes through more prominently? or is there a better way of doing this?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello loved this video! I have a question ....if you are a singer and you not trained conventionally but you have written a song and recorded it into to your DAW and now want to make a song arrangement around it but are not really sure what key you are singing in how would I know what key to make the track in around it and what key to put for the auto-tune in? Any tips for that because for some reason when I write a song and try to make an arrangement around it it just seems so difficult and daunting vs just making a song over a beat I already made. Any tips for knowing what key ?!!

    Sorry I’m a bit confused about the bussing part.... did you group ALL the tracks into one wet delay bus???? That’s what happened to me .....

    • @Sdbbffsd
      @Sdbbffsd 4 роки тому +1

      Charles Connolly I double vocals as much as I can always so that helps, also volume.

    • @connollytunes
      @connollytunes 4 роки тому

      Thanks for replying! It's a good suggestion, but sometimes you don't want that doubled vocal sound, and then one is left with the same problem of diminishing dynamics after the first chorus. But I have to admit, this is all in my head as I actually don't seem to have that problem much. It was more hypothetical. I think I don't have that problem because I compress too severely in mastering. You win some, you lose some. Thanks again though. :)

    Is there another way to make it sound less like a pop song? Well, less robotic i mean, im making Rap and the chorus sounding like Bender from Futurama isnt exactly pleasing to the ears. Thanks

    • @dylanrobins
      @dylanrobins 6 років тому

      T0NICSS: double-tracking is the way to go. Takes more work upfront, but sounds a huge amount better. Basically you record yourself singing the same part multiple times, and then layer the different takes over eachother, hard panning two (or more) of them.
      You get the same sort of effect, but more "organic" sounding, seen as you aren't pitch shifting them artificially.
      Now this takes some effort seen as you have to be able to sing your parts practically identically multiple times, but hey it's good practice anyway ;)

      @musicaldrops 7 років тому +1

      PrateekGuptaOfficial I was wondering the same thing.

    • @HyperProduction
      @HyperProduction  7 років тому

      The vocal was Mono. Typical most vocals are recorded in Mono due to just one microphone recording them. There are plugins out there that can offset the Mono information to make it sound like stereo. But ultimately it is a Mono signal. That's why you need to do some processing like in this video to get that wide stereo sound. They are mono, then panned and processed to make them sound Stereo.
      Hope that helps?
      Thanks
      Rory @ Hyper Production

    • @musicaldrops
      @musicaldrops 7 років тому +1

      But why the double wave forms in each track? That's basically why I was thinking they were recorded in stereo already. Thanks

    • @HyperProduction
      @HyperProduction  7 років тому +1

      Hi There,
      If you look closely at the waveforms they are identical. Bit of a visual confusion there and it's a good point you've made. It's basically showing you the information of both the Left and the Right channel. So there if it's mono, they will be identical. However the backing is Stereo, as you can see the difference in the waveform of the L&R channels.
      Hope that helps?
      Thanks,
      Rory @ Hyper Production
