This was my mother's camera as well. She got it as a gift in 2009. I inherited it when she passed a few years ago. I find it gives me clearer pictures than my similar sized Canons. Colour is more vivid and there is less Chromatic aberration when looking at the images with zoom. I don't like the way the controls are accessed but I find for casual use, it is a better camera than expected. I also like the embedded memory that will store a few pictures in an emergency.
I still have mine. I think the quality of the images are really good for what it is and the time it was released. It tought me how to use shutter speed, aperture and ISO.
I have several Kodak digital cameras, the one I have bought are mid 2000. all with CCD sensors, The later the Kodak cameras the more plastic and toy like. one of my favorite is the Kodak Easyshare Z740. these older cameras generally have a Kodak Science Chip label, don't know if it is a marketing thing, but the colour has some pop. Also have a combo of plastic and metal parts. Thanks for sharing!
I'm interested in trying some earlier Kodak's as I come across them too. Colors were quite different than what I'm used to, and were even more saturated than the Kodak M530 I have. I can't place it, I just wasn't enjoying this camera much, as nice as it is. Thanks for the comment!
Hi! I think this camera would be considered mid-range consumer, but it's got a lot of features and is a good one to learn with. There's tons of tutorials on UA-cam that explain basics of cameras, but best way to learn is to take more pictures!
