Next meme run: Nocturne but with basic attack only
Thoughts on this run:
- Man, SMT V's combat system is garbo, level scaling removed any kind of difficulty (it was hard mode). By contrast, in my Krishna run in Apocalypse I could get hit hard by mid game bosses and Satan, Lucifer and Vishnu-Flynn straight up killed me. V's level scaling and vitality as a stat hurt its combat system which is a damn shame because they got it just right in the previous game.
- Despite what V says, COUNTER AND RETALIATE DO STACK, I TESTED IT MYSELF but counter's activation chance was pretty low and the damage sucked so I chose repel force instead, I needed repel ice 100% since I was using a Shiva essence.
- Melee and ailment skills are not too visually engaging so from now on, I'll prioritize magic in my meme runs. I know that I just said I'm doing a melee only run in Nocturne but that will be the last one.
- I feel like I could have beaten Lucifer but I was getting bored so I didn't even try.
- Wow, I need to update my PC, this rendered like trash. To be fair, I did the rendering at 7 am of today (without me sleeping at all) so next time I'll rest my eyes before finishing a video.
- Why yes, I need to put Chironnupu in all the videos I can.

Biggest issue the game has. Oh, you're starting to struggle? Don''t change tactics/demons, just spam gospels till your number is bigger ex dee. I mean, look as True Neutral Lucifer. He's a joke fight. He's 6 levels lower than a boss you must defeat in order to fight him.
I didn't use gospels till Shiva on my 2nd playthrough and imo, it's a really good 1st playthrough if you don't cheapen it like i said above. Hope it does come to PC eventually so people can mod it out of the game.
Level scaling is a huge letdown, but overall i think it's solid and entertaining. SMT IV Apocalypse and Strange Journey battle sistems remain peaks SMT.

I actually killed Ishtar with a reflected electric spell. Kinda clutch but underwhelming as well. I was pretty fucked and I just got lucky. Didn't earn that victory at all.

Looks like it was allowed, he used a demon for omagatoki at least. It was probably just easier that if attacks weren't allowed that enemies always attacked the MC to trigger more repels/retaliates. He probably just summoned them for certain abilities then dismissed them.
I didnt feel like I needed any demons, I only used chironnupu for estoma and bc hes my favorite

if you are at +2 attack and he's at -2 defence and you crit and you have 999 strength with both pleromas + retaliate you might be able to 1 shot him
@@grandaaa as one who has maxed their strength (and all stats) it would not one shot him… but I’m certain it might be possible to beat him this way.
Edit: after testing I don’t believe it can be done solo due to built up ailment resistance. The pixie has to go but when you can’t attack them directly the only way to take them out is with poison. Also impailers animus doesn’t work with retaliate :/
