- rushed video oops, kinda, not really, honestly this battle wasnt as fun as the shiva one so less maymays/le funi sound effects
anyway, subscribe for more shin megami tensei content! tho after the meme run that should be out next tuesday this might be my last smt v video tbh, want to focus on other games like persona, for example I haven't played played persona 5 strikers nor have I taken a look to persona 5 royal and I imagine they're not bad bad games

thoughts on this battle:
-not as fun as shiva tbh, demifiend's lack of a diverse movepool sucks a bit, him resisting everything makes murakumo spam mandatory bc megidolaon is kinda ass in this game
-for the rest of our demons, it's just my team spamming luster candy and debilitate and his team spamming dekaja and dekunda, not my idea of fun tbh, again, shiva did it better
-the idea of the strat was use omagatoki hit + makajamaon to pretty much give you 2 turns, with this you always have the advantage with buffs, debuffs and healing
-for this I needed demons with ailment affinities like sandman or aitvaras, I also had a mothman in the bench but didnt use him -cait sith and onmoraki had adversity and accursed poison to insta win but that would be gay so I didnt use them
-cerberus and choo choo lain are demis weakest demons so you should keep them alive and just rotate the third one
-chaotic will makes enduring soul and abyssal mask mandatory on every demon which restricts movepool, that sucks too
-pixie and parvati pack heals so you have to delete them as soon as they appear, but they appear in a set order and not randomly like ananta (I think) which makes them less exciting
-the battle overall looks easy but this is one of 12-ish attempts so it really wasn't easy lole
-god shattering star is a banger

I love it when atlus games give us that kind of freedom in building personas/demons
after being rejected by Nekomata, Cait sith proceeds to become overpowered and fight the demi-fiend alongside the nahobino.

I can imagine the Spinning Walters shouting "I'll end it thus!" in a garbled voice. Also, your demon line-up was pretty good. Using the Seal ailment was a bright idea. The number of times Chaotic Will was cast was unbelievable for me. Anyways, I can only imagine the amount of Grimores you had to use to achieve this fight. Props to you for using 1st-area demons.

If I remember correctly, Chaotic Will has 2 conditions for use. Demi will cast it at certain hp thresholds(75%, 50% etc). He will ALSO cast it as the stereotypical counter if you null/drain/repel most if not all of Demi's main attack types. A youtuber by the name of Deus learned this during his Solo Demi fight. Its actually better to have a resist in order to avoid.
Demifiend might be a true demon, but does he have dancing fox?

In case people weren't aware, this entire fight is a dps check. If you don't force Demi to use Call Allies at least once every few turns, he will use Gaea Rage which pierces and hits like a freight train. Only Naho with over 400 Vitality can survive it and that requires at least 15 full runs of the game, completing all the dlcs, getting the partner spots and finding all 200 miman in the game...yes someone was actually crazy and masochistic enough to do this. His name is Deus and he is very funny.
This is the most “ come on guys it’s not THAT hard” type shit I seen in a minute 🤣

NO REPEL PHYSICAL?? this is absolutely insane, holy shit. I wished this fight didn't require you to really snuff out most skills, for all the passives tbh. Amazing video, and the demons used are absolutely crazy as well
I thought you can't have repel/null/drain physical for this fight....
@@zahinepic367 You can have them, it's the one way to stop demi fiend from checking you with Javelin Rain. What you can't do in this fight, is use tetrakarn or any mirrors that block physical, it triggers the gaea rage instantly.
DDS 1 demi fiend is the one where you can't have null/drain/repel phys
@@skydivisionx resist physical is allowed in dds1 right? I'm planning on fighting him soon.. just gotta grind more.
@@zahinepic367 I think you can run resist phys, null/drain/repel is what triggers his gaea rage in DDS. It also can happen when demons are out, like Pixie and Titania iirc? But honestly, you're good with resist phys on the crew. Good luck, and keep at it, DDS1 demi fiend is one of the hardest bosses of all time
@@zahinepic367 You can run null/drain/repel phys affinity, but not from the skill or item. You also can't put that to everyone, otherwise it will trigger Gaea Rage.
And God saw Walter appearing in every Agibarion and saw that it was good.
Having god shattering star play for this fight feels so right.
Both the Demifiend and the Nahobino were very godly and shattered stars if their hardest endings are canon (Demifiend destroying Kagutsuchi, and Nahobino destroying Morning Star)
Who knew that the FE3H ost would so beautifully with the Demifiend battle?
I keep forgetting bosses can get status ailments in this game as often as they do.
Also i like the Demi fiend fight a lot because it’s basically Pokémon showdown

Yeah but he’s DLC, you can even play as him in SMT3 which is also on modern consoles.
He's the main character of SMT 3 (the one that shaped the series for ever), so that's why he keeps coming back
The two games before Nocturne were only popular in Japan and very resource-heavy. In 1 you had to collect magnetite to ensure demons stayed with you, but you could also pay magnetite to acquire demons. Nocturne not only made Shin Megami Tensei exist to Western audiences, but it was an awesome flavor of difficulty and hopelessness and isolation that it was this “experience that needed to be played”.
Just did this fight myself yesterday and holy fuck is it hard. I steamrolled everything else in this game including Shiva but Demifiend was still kicking my ass.
Took like 4 tries (6 if you include the times I accidentally came in with the wrong team and reset instantly)
I somehow survived the winning run despite miscounting turns and getting Gaea Rage'd twice. And every Chaotic Will hit at least one party member despite everyone having abyssal Mask. It sucked but I did it.

I trained one frosty to kill cerberus but then realized cerberus is demifiends weakest demon (alongside choo choo lain) so I kept him alive and rotated the others, bc of that he was benched
He got Auto-Balanced to Demifiends team.
Meanwhile I’m over here struggling with level 99 Nahobino and end game demons to even take him to half health 😭

Demi-Fiend is nostalgic, but definitely check out whatever you are missing. Nocturne is still my favorite game. I was hoping SMT5 had more “dungeons” or something closer to how the whole Nocturne game flows and stuff with the Labyrinth of Amala, etc. I loved the Tower of Kagustuchi.
Totally agree, I think this game needs a "maniax" edition or something like that, including some kind of Labyrinth of Amala for Nahobino with more super bosses, because there isn't much to do after reaching lvl 99, just defeat Shiva and Demi-fiend. Definetly at least one or two dungeons on every zone, I remember the Diet Buiding in SMT3 and it was a total dissapointment in SMTV

And the AI’s spam the skills that can get rebelled and absorbed, meanwhile mine spams Megidoloan (a lot), Dekaja, Dekunda, and many physical skills, etc. HOW!?
Because demi fiends demons also have an affinity check, just like demi fiend, only if demi fiends affinity check is all nulls then it closes the skill priorities of his allies to only spam almighty damage.
In this instance, since demi fiends affinity checks are no nulls, he in turn will continue to spam javelin raine, while his allies will use anything at their disposal, until they’ve checked that their skills are nulled in any way.
Besides the Ai manipulation, there is still quite a lot of luck involved in this video, like consistently surviving chaotic will, never getting sealed, and the amount of missed attacks is extreme luck if I’ve ever seen it.
There’s also the fact that there demons, regardless of the fact that they’re level 99 versions of early game demons, have jacked up stats. Comparing the damage output and damage taken to a normal attempt, there has definitely been some stat boosts going around. Probably within the 150 to 200 range if I had to guess. I’ve done some crazy stat grinding before and know how crazy the damage can get. This isn’t anywhere close to max stat territory but it’s for sure quite up there.

Murakumo spam isn't the only option. You could also do impaler's animus and figment slash. You can 2 turn ko him this way

I’m assuming this is a new game run since his Nahobino is doing average damage, and his hp isn’t maxed(average is about 820 for the first cycle but it can be boosted with great life spring). As for his demons, there has definitely been some stat boosts going around. Probably within the 150 to 200 range. It is achievable within the first cycle, it just takes a while.
Beyond that, this was most definitely not their first attempt at this. They’ve got the Ai manipulation down like a man who has played way too many hours of this game (like i have lol). However I will say the fact that they went the whole fight consistently surviving chaotic will with no deaths, never getting sealed at any point in the fight, and having so many dodges is extreme luck if I’ve ever seen it.
