I'm 67 yrs old, and in my lifetime I have watched a LOT of football, even played in Jr High, Hi school, and college. I watched Jerry Rice's career because I was a 49'ers and Joe Montana fan. I live in Huntington, WV, the home of Marshall University where Moss played for 2 years before being drafted in the NFL. I've seen his talent first hand, in person. I can honestly say, having watched literally every wide receiver in college and the NFL over the last 50 years, Moss is the most talented athlete, football player, and wide receiver I've ever seen. Yes, Jerry Rice leads Moss in the stats in many categories, and is considered the GOAT. That's only because Rice had a 20 year NFL career vs 16 for Moss. Lmao I'll give Moss the best deep threat ever, but Rice, and T O were both better receivers. When you get a chance go compare Owens 1st six years to Moss's 1st six years. Moss had 2,205 yards more than Owens after 6 years. Owens ate the gap up while Moss was still in his prime.
Randy Moss was unstoppable in just about every sense of the word, really the only thing that ever limited him were the years he was in poor offenses. Defensive coordinators would have to put so many resources on him to try to stop him and he just did whatever he wanted.
Here's a fun stat: every quarterback that Moss played with enjoyed their statistically best years with Moss as a receiver. Source: football outsiders (I can't remember how they defined "statistically best" though, given that I know those guys are skeptical about QBR.)
Whether you hated the Patriots or not, when they lost the Super Bowl to the Giants in 2007-2008 season EVERYBODY felt some kinda way about Moss not being able to hold that Lombardi Trophy. No matter what, we ALL loved Moss so we wanted to see HIM when a championship.
My favorite receiver ever. Moss was just built different for the wr position. I love watching his films nothing but jaw dropping plays. Much respect to him. Now us young guys have another player looking similar to moss, Justin Jefferson I’m excited to watch him grow 💯🔥 Moss paved a wave for receivers
The Freak was a perfect nickname. Even all these years later, you see his build and then realize how fast he was at that size and he was definitely The Freak. Once in a lifetime kind of talent.
Oh sorry I didn't know that Joe Montana and Daunte Culpepper were in the same conversation 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Look what happened to Daunte after Moss left... smoke another one dude 😅
My favorite Randy Moss moment? I was watching Marshall in an open practice. Moss and Pennington were dropping my jaw play after play. I was one of the only fans present and was getting pretty enthusiastic! After a great catch I got to whoopin and hollerin. Randy saw me and trotted over for just a few seconds to mock high five me with a big grin on his face. I could tell he appreciated my enthusiasm.
My favorite WR of all time. Electric doesn't even begin to describe his play style. I mean, they literally coined the term "he Moss'd him" after Randy.
I remember watching Moss and being amazed of his greatness. Truly unstoppable from the beginning of his career. I was wishing he would join my team the Patriots. When he did I was super excited. Brady to Moss was dynamic!
I was a student at Marshall while Moss played there. It isn't often you get to see one of true greats blossom in front of your very eyes. He made players look like they were standing still. I remember some people saying "well it's not top notch Division 1 competition". Let's see what happens in the NFL. I think we all now know he could play with anyone. The guy dominated high school, college, and the pros.
Randy Moss had one of the best careers u could think of as a WR it just sucks that he’s only been to the Super Bowl 2 and lost both times but other then that he was a star the minute he stepped on an NFL field Hall of Famer for sure in my book

Jerry had a whole team around him that was great quarterback running back offensive line defense you saw what happened to him when he went to the raiders and didn't have that star quarterback like Steve Young or Joe Montana
Jerry Rice is up there with Tom Brady as best players ever. We’re talking constant production and professionalism (and rings) for 20 years. And especially for a skill position, it’s hard to explain how incredible Jerry Rice was when he was playing at a Pro Bowl level at 40 years old. But in terms of freakish, scary ability, I’m not sure if there will be another player like Randy Moss for a long time. This guy was so scary as a WR that teams would slant their entire defense in his direction to prevent the deep ball. We’re not talking about a simple double-team or even triple-team… he changed the entire defense on his own. Even when he faded and retired and came back with the 49ers, teams were still slanting their defense to prevent him from going deep when he was split wide. The fear of who he was still intimidated NFL teams many years after peak. It’s hard to explain how scary this guy was to people who didn’t get a chance to watch him.
“Moss went into the 2001 off-season hoping to secure his long term future with the Minnesota Vikings, he wanted to become the highest paid player in the NFL. And Randy got his wish.” “And even though he wasn’t the highest paid player” 😂🤡
Yeah, that and "Even with the great Peyton Manning at the head of the class, it was Moss who stole all the headlines." No it wasn't. Was he talked about, yeah, but enough with the hyperbole.
Back loaded contract, 1 reason why Red McCombs traded #84 in 2005. The serious money was coming up due on the contract and McCombs didn't want to pay it, and he also traded Moss as a final "F-you" to Minnesota before selling the team to Zygi Wilf because McCombs didn't get his 100% publicly funded new stadium from MN taxpayers.

As a Saints fan, I still see that giant of a man in my nightmares.
Reggie white once threw Larry aside like s rag doll 😳
An larry is a giant beast of a man.
.. imagine that shit..m or watch it.. clip in notes
As a rookie for Allen but still
The best all around genetic freak o lineman because he was 6’3, who benched 705, and squatted 905, along with running a 4.8 40 yard dash time which was absolutely unheard of.
Couldn’t he bench-press like 700 pounds?
@@ethanniedorowski116 with 1 arm, that swim move/club was so unstoppable. Every offensive lineman knew it was coming n he still chucked them giant humans constantly. I was young at the twilight of his career but his domination always stood out. Reggie gotta be top 5 strongest people ever in the game.
along with LT, one of few players who changed the game.
There’s nothing new about rolling a safety to the side of the field of a great receiver. That’s been happening for decades.
Yes! Yes! Yes! after ages for asking for him he has returned
He is back!

@@EseQvo not gonna lie he's my favorite but moss was wayyy more athletic and did way more for his teams. T.O was the grittiest and more explosive to watch. but I can't agree with that comment. moss was just the better athlete
Moss is the GOAT.
Nobody else ever had an entire defensive scheme developed to stop him.
Yeah I remember the Vikings always having a good running game due to the safety not being used to support the run
You can’t believe that ???
Lmao I'll give Moss the best deep threat ever, but Rice, and T O were both better receivers. When you get a chance go compare Owens 1st six years to Moss's 1st six years. Moss had 2,205 yards more than Owens after 6 years. Owens ate the gap up while Moss was still in his prime.
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾
Prayers out for Randy moss 🕊️
Randy Moss was unstoppable in just about every sense of the word, really the only thing that ever limited him were the years he was in poor offenses. Defensive coordinators would have to put so many resources on him to try to stop him and he just did whatever he wanted.
Getting Mossed became a very popular saying, he was incredible to watch
Here's a fun stat: every quarterback that Moss played with enjoyed their statistically best years with Moss as a receiver. Source: football outsiders (I can't remember how they defined "statistically best" though, given that I know those guys are skeptical about QBR.)
Randy moss was as good a football player as anybody I’ve ever seen
You haven’t seen many players if you think that. He was great though.

All? I wasn’t willing to trade NYG win for his trophy.
I was happy as fuck Moss didnt get a ring he sucks and has bad sportsmanship FUCK HIM
Yeah they gave NY those rings.

Randy was the GOAT! If he would have stayed with TB12 he would won Super Bowls and been unstoppable
So you're saying he'd have jewelry that almost every other receiver who played with Brady has?
That 15-1 season ended up being a heartbreaker. 😢
I've never recovered.
💔
The Freak was a perfect nickname. Even all these years later, you see his build and then realize how fast he was at that size and he was definitely The Freak. Once in a lifetime kind of talent.
I watched that jets one hander live. When he didn’t even bring it into his body shit left me speechless. Have yet to see a catch like that to this day
Imagine if Moss had HOF qb's like Rice his whole career 😳 💀
💯
He did though...?
Oh sorry I didn't know that Joe Montana and Daunte Culpepper were in the same conversation 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Look what happened to Daunte after Moss left... smoke another one dude 😅
Imagine if Rice had Barry Sanders running on his team and Chris Carter as his other receiver.
@@bruceleeroy8302 another logical comparison 🤦♂️
My favorite Randy Moss moment?
I was watching Marshall in an open practice. Moss and Pennington were dropping my jaw play after play. I was one of the only fans present and was getting pretty enthusiastic!
After a great catch I got to whoopin and hollerin. Randy saw me and trotted over for just a few seconds to mock high five me with a big grin on his face.
I could tell he appreciated my enthusiasm.
Man those shoulder pads he had in high school were massive
My favorite WR of all time. Electric doesn't even begin to describe his play style. I mean, they literally coined the term "he Moss'd him" after Randy.
How good was Moss? How smart was Einstein? How gifted was Mozart? Unquestionably the most gifted athlete to play the position of WR.
This is a great video!!! keep up the great work
Randy and T.O. are the 2 best WR ever. Really doesn't matter who u have #1.
Rice was better.
@@thecawdsquad875 yea him and that stickum was so awesome 🙄🤡
I remember watching Moss and being amazed of his greatness. Truly unstoppable from the beginning of his career. I was wishing he would join my team the Patriots. When he did I was super excited. Brady to Moss was dynamic!
Randy is the most talented WR in history! He was unreal!
I lived in WV and went to HS at the same time Randy did. I watched him and Jason Williams play basketball and it was ridiculous.

Better route running than a cheetah? Cap.
Them cheetahs are natural route runners when they are running after prey lol
I have always been a Vikings fan and it was some great years with Randy Moss. Now he is great to be behind the mic, and I think he still loves the Vikings.
The BEST WR I’ve seen with my eyes 👀
84 was something else!
Aside from the fact that your content is fantastic and Randy Moss is one of the best professional athletes we’ve ever seen… I just wanted to let you know how appreciated it is, to watch/listen to content that isn’t about Politics as it seems to be everywhere these days, thank you!

Randy Moss was my idol on the football field when I was little. I tried to mimic my game like his. I have his jersey on my wall

He changed the game of football. Defenses had to completely change how they played due to this man. Best WR ever.
In no way was Moss the best ever. That belongs to Jerry Rice by a mile.
You are so sensitive every comment you make is just you getting upset over someone having a different opinion
One of the greatest NFL players.
Good health and well wishes to Randy Moss.
Can you do how good was Anquan Boldin? Loved him with Baltimore, and his seasons in Arizona paired with Fitz were amazing

@@Lloyd00 no joke. Fitz no doubt is a hall of famer, but i think boldin should be, but probably won't. I mean like, boldin was always dependable. I was so mad when the ravens traded him, i know it was a cap cut move but
@@dbzfan667 I mean Fitz is a hall of famer but a large reason is longevity. I agree 100% that Boldin was more dependable. That being said we may be selling Fitz short since he's probably had the worst luck with QBs.

@@BobBob-eb4io first
@@BobBob-eb4io please don't tell me you think Jerry Rice was better. In the NFL it's not like the NBA where one player can change a whole team Moss was on good teams but never great he wasn't on a great team until he was with Tom Brady. Jerry had a whole team around him that was great quarterback running back offensive line defense you saw what happened to him when he went to the raiders and didn't have that star quarterback like Steve Young or Joe Montana
Nope Jerry Rice I hate to Brings uo 3 Rings but he has Moss went 0-2 Rice Went 3-1
@@JBTriple8 Super Bowls don’t mean anything about a player, Tom Brady would still be the goat if he won only 2
Growing up in a small town in West Virginia. Randy Moss is my favorite football player ever.
I am from minnesota and I have seen all his games as a Vikings. never a dull moment
Best WR I have ever seen. Been watching NFL since mid 1980’s and Randy the best. Really enjoyed rooting for him as he was more “offbeat” than “diva”
Yeah, his "off the field" problems were in reality very minor. Weed and some fights with racists.
Moss played in an era with so many legends. This was the best time to be a football fan. Now I can barely name 10 players in the league today.
“Moss went into the 2001 off-season hoping to secure his long term future with the Minnesota Vikings, he wanted to become the highest paid player in the NFL. And Randy got his wish.”
“And even though he wasn’t the highest paid player” 😂🤡
Yeah, that and "Even with the great Peyton Manning at the head of the class, it was Moss who stole all the headlines." No it wasn't. Was he talked about, yeah, but enough with the hyperbole.
Back loaded contract, 1 reason why Red McCombs traded #84 in 2005. The serious money was coming up due on the contract and McCombs didn't want to pay it, and he also traded Moss as a final "F-you" to Minnesota before selling the team to Zygi Wilf because McCombs didn't get his 100% publicly funded new stadium from MN taxpayers.
@@deanladue3151 nah, Randy had become too much of an unbearable distraction at that point (dragging parking maids with his car, squirting officials with his water bottle, etc). Its the same reason Patriots had to let him go too after they had enough.
@@deanladue3151 yep. The state hated McCombs and he knew it so trading Moss right before he sold the team was the last middle finger to the state and the fans.
@@deanladue3151 yup. Vikings management a complete joke when it came to that stadium dispute. Billionaires wanting to use taxpayer dollars as if they don't have enough money of their own
