Valve needs to be communicating right.

  • Valve revealed that 'Trust' 'wasn't working right, and that it had now been fixed. They even thanked people! ...But that isn't good enough. I think Valve needs to communicate more, if they are to regain our trust in their secretive ways. They give me very little to work with, when I'm asked why Valve is doing X or ignoring Y. Throw me a bone, Valve!

This makes so much sense, I queue with one friend and we have been playing most days for the past few years, our trust is high and we are novas, we've rarely ever found a cheater, maybe a suspicious guy every few months and a blatant cheater once a year.
But these past few weeks we've encountered at least 6 blatant shit bags, a bunch of brand new accounts (who shouldn't have high trust), and quite a few sus players as well with a lot more toxic players.

Beyond the "trust factor" issue, what's been ruining MM experience for me is the removal of bots. Even with the shorthand bonus, 3 out of 4 games I play (in GN) are decided by which teams keeps their 5 players. As soon as one disconnects or quits after a few rounds, it gets chain reaction and I sometimes end a game 5 vs 2, which is ridiculous. My MM history these days is looking like a collection of 16-5, 1-16, 16-3,...

There is definitely something up with Overwatch. People still get game banned for cheating... rarely.
I am not sure what is going on, but I have started tracking Overwatch cases I do and check if people end up getting banned (quite easy to do).
Out of 27 Overwatch cases done this week, 26 were either spinning or being equivalently blatent, fine (the last one was a griefer that also behaved very strangely).
When I tracked bans in 2017, it would take at most 2h for such an account to get a game ban on their profile after the Overwatch case.
Now it's been several days and not a single one of the cheaters got a ban, nor did any of the 37 other blatant cheaters in those demos. One of the matches even had the entire lobby of 10 people blatantly cheating.
Now, I am not saying that Overwatch does not work, but it certainly does not work as it did a few years ago. Maybe Shadow Bans outside of Prime Matchmaking are actually a thing now, cause most of these demos had at least one cheater on each team. Yet, some of these accounts were old Steam accounts, which makes me doubt that.
