at 3:31 you can clearly see he was cheating. Just look at the white text "Banned for cheating" surrounded by red. Clearly that's what the cheat detection detected and banned him for cheating
the day I lost faith in faceit was when I faced an high faceit moderator in matchmaking who got boosted by a cheating premate ...posted about it in their discord with downloaded demo and no other moderator cared
They're discord moderators, of course they don't give a sh1t. There is not a single discord mod that actually gives a damn about what they do or is looking for fair treatment, they are always looking after themselves.

The comments before and after is literally one of the most annoying things I find people do, I don't quite understand the psychology of it, but it's extremely strange.
People all the time think they know better than others even on topics (they didn't read anything on / know nothing about / aren't a professional in) very common in politics for example. Humanity is frustrating and riddled with main character syndrome.
Yeah. It’s fascinating how once he’s been convicted for cheating a bunch of people will immediately dogpile onto Styko for not catching him. He’s a professional player ffs. If anyone is good enough to notice that the guy was cheating, Styko is. He clearly hid his cheats extremely well if Styko could review multiple demos without becoming suspicious of him. But of course a bunch of level 4 players will always take any opportunity they can to act superior.
Never heard of him or payed attention to the leaderboards (i am NA and top 500, but who caree about elo) until the verdict came out. His gameplay looked uninteresting and had nothing special, which shouldn’t be the case for someone who wins every faceit game. The only thing that looks special is that he rarely entries and almost always baits while winning every “hard” engagement in 4v4, 3v3, etc. 5v4 he almost always baits and never plays to where he can lose, seemingly because he plays with info
He literally exposed himself by trying to replace one evil with another, not understanding that the command would‘ve got him banned in the actual ban wave. So he never used the command, but he felt to lie about it.
Wait what? People who used the sv_cheats command got banned in the last VAC wave? Do you have proof of that? I was considering just to try it for few seconds, thank God I didn't use it, but still can you give me some proof that people who used it got banned in the recent wave?
Besides the fact that the overmatch system has not been usable since the CS2 release, I still don’t think that players should do the unpaid janitor work that Valve completely ignores while raking in millions. Valorant isn’t free of cheaters by any means, but there are no ragehacks running rampant like in CS at the moment. On the other hand I’d rather play against a spinbot with a Scar instead of getting invested in a match and trying to win, only to find out that someone was looking through the wall in crucial rounds. I barely ever see anyone complimenting an opponent on a shot they hit, because cheating is so widespread and rampant. Sad state really
Problem is, letting players do this unpaid janitor work ended up ruining the data vacnet got fed because of people just buying accounts with ow and putting false verdicts
I have over 4k hours of CS and never faced a spinbot. I have my suspicions of less blatant cheaters but those are very few, and even fewer were confirmed by a ban. Maybe I'm just extremely lucky, but these allegations that cheaters are everywhere seem exaggerated by vocal minorities. It just gives players that suck at the game an easy excuse, that they then use to confirm their existing biases. 99.9999% of players that call others cheaters never even bother to open a replay to confirm. That tells the whole story.
@@TheDraiken you're almost certainly 100% right here The story changes daily. The running story right now is 20k+ is where all the cheaters are (also known as the top 1% of all players)
Another issue is if cheating is rampant, reports for legit players having a really good game will go up, impacting their trust factor, and kind of making a vicious circle. Or you have a 4k round and then the entire team dies to the same guy for the rest of the game, all because you had a good round.
that's why "trusted partners" section in overwatch has been added, because i believe valve is outsourcing to select third party companies running A.i demo review service for obvious shit like spinbot/wallhack. They can't let people with even 150 wins like before review matches, because everyone is paranoid and on a witch hunt to ban cheaters. Imagine the amount of new players that have grinded 150 wins within the first year of playing getting their hands on overwatch, they honestly wouldn't know shit
@@polocatfanthats not a good environment for a competitive shooter like Counter Strike. Its to the point where every lucky shot, every good play, and good gamesense is being called out as cheating. Valve needs an actual anti-cheat to combat this issue otherwise it hurts the credibility of legit players who are just good at the game.
most of my reports are from teammates after i call them out for cheating. and then you get a cooldown. im basically forced to have a bunch of alt accounts just so i can call out cheating or leave games when people cheat.
Whenever someones says "nah the are DEFINITELY not cheating", I cringe super hard. Closet cheaters are the reason you can never say that. You can suspect someone to cheat or just say that at least you see no clear EVIDENCE that they are cheating, but never that a player is clean. Watching CS2 demos has taught me that even the opponents that I never suspected and who were the bottom of the leaderboard sometimes had blatant wallhacks, just missing the required aim for it to have any impact.
you dont need to watch demo for that, just spectate your teammates. i often see guys at the bottom of the team walling, just baiting everyone, and maybe they get 1 kill at the end of the round with info they didnt have
This. Checking the ban checker, it's more often than 50% of the time that the bottom fraggers are the ones who got vacced later on. Proooobably because they still sucked with the cheats, and had to turn it up a notch. Or then they used ones taht get caught easily for the same reason they're bad at cs: they're dumb.
@@TheSuperappelflap yeah true. Its just very naive how most people only suspect the top fraggers (or high elo players) of cheating and not anyone else most of the time.
Yep. I’ve seen it so many times. I’ll suspect their top fragger is cheating, and then find that the “noob” with 4 kills the entire match was the one that actually had cheats. It’s smart really, no one reports the dude with 4 kills, and anyone who overwatches the top fraggers games won’t see cheats. I’ve had countless games where no matter what site we push, they always 5 stack that site. Or on CT side, they always go to our weaker site. Or if we accidentally leave cat exposed, they always 5 man push cat to take the site, but when we have a player holding it, they never go cat. It’s likely due to someone on their team (probably low on the leaderboard) having radar or ESP and making the callouts so their team is always in the best possible situation.
@@Mouthwashh don't forget that if they are stacking the radar can be shared! if their radar is on they can have it visible online too for their friends to have it on their phone
I don't think you can be certain that he used the sv_cheats exploit, as he likely claimed that he was banned for that in the hope that he could blend in with the crowd of 'sv_cheats cheaters' rather than the 'dedicated software/firmware cheaters'. For some reason a few prominent morons showed the former camp a lot of sympathy, despite being functionally identical to the latter camp.

But how do we know that he wasn't using the 'sv_cheat' cheat, and instead some external cheat? Faceit handles those bans like VAC, but at least VAC tells you if you got Overwatch banned or game banned. Being the number one player on the platform, Faceit should at least make a statement and tell us why he was banned.
@ A FACEIT admin (Darwin or something like that) tweeted that ALL sv_cheats exploiters were banned in a single wave and nothing since. Any ban after that is because of actual cheats.
Maybe this is defeatist but i feel like subtle cheating in online matches isn't possible to "solve" entirely, even invasive ac can only do so much, imo the correct course of action is to treat "subtle" cheating as an unavoidable possibility in online matches and only do serious competitive matches in the LAN format. If people want to play online without cheaters, real ID verification requirement and lifetime bans for cheating might be the only way. all in all I don't think it's a game or industry problem, it's definitely a people & culture problem
@@redline841 from a player's perspective, if the enemy is cheating super subtly, it becomes similar to playing against someone who's just better. But there are differences which would make the game less fun if you're being cheated against, it's still not a good thing.

It just sucks the enjoyment out of the game, i dont often play that well and was having a great time. Then bang.. all ruined. If cheating wasnt a thing, we could actually celebrate people playing well, instead of being suspicious all the time :(
Yeah, played wingman a month ago with a friend of mine, only bought shotguns and won the first half by a landslide. Little sad losers got mad, one of them took the whole technical timeout to reconnect to return with ragehacks (aim+wh). We still tied due to them not knowing how to play and had a good laugh about it, but someone definetly got mad.
@@mediumplayer1 wingman is sadly trash filled with rage botters. I've met like 14 cheaters in just a few games. 100% of my games had at least 1 cheater on it, and some were 3 players out of 4 (the 4th player being me).
What the actual fuck is happening to these games bro. Remember back when cheating was actually relatively rare in these shooters? Now it's fucking rampant, what the hell. I never imagined CS2 to become known as a game full of cheaters with ineffective anticheat. Like why are we experiencing this seemingly sudden epidemic of hackers? I kinda blame it on the wave of people who joined PC gaming back in 2020 during lockdown. The population on Steam probably almost doubled if not more from all the people getting gaming PCs. And now we have to deal with the hacking they brought with them. I HATE to use this word but... it's the normies. Before 2020 you were weird for gaming on PC, now it's normalized. Just my tinfoil conspiracy theory. More people naturally means more hackers. I also think it brought a lot of people in who don't respect the integrity of these games and don't see hacking as a major offense like pre-2020 PC gamers do. Just saying, maybe I'm wrong, but before 2020 I never saw hackers in any game I played. Hundreds of hours of TF2 and CSGO, seen zero. Now? Pfft, they're everywhere.
@@assetaden6662 afaik, wingman used to be the go-to option for a lot of cheaters even back in CS:GO, as it had no Overwatch, so you could do whatever and it would never get seen by anyone.
The biggest HvH cheat creators are from Russia and they spoke about custom made cheats for pro teams and players that use them, without giving any names ofc, they spoke about crosshair that changes color based on enemy direction, about the netgraph displaying enemy coords, and much more. The interviewer from Cybershoke also said they had problems where teams were requested to provide event organizers with videos of each players screens in online matches and they were submitting only 4/5 videos with some players refusing to do so. They also said that most cheaters are from the CIS region. Ofc, I don't think they are referring to tier 1 teams.
i have heard the exact same from danish cheat coders when astralis was winning everything (and obviously not being completely legit) just admit fact, most high tier cs players are on some gear one way or the other
The worst thing about cheaters is not the spinbot or blatant cheaters but the cheaters that know how to hide they are cheating. I stopped playing CSGO because i hated smurfs and possible cheaters that stomped my team in games.
Well I still play for the thrill of good momentum but I feel you. I think what's happening to CS right now is only the precursor of what might happen on a very large scale to the internet as we know it in general, it is becoming obsolete in front of newere more powerful technologies. People still think internet is made to last forever but in 20-30 years from now I think it will be no more or something completely different, weaponized and definitely not free anymore.
I feel you and you will never get rid of all of them but if you could filter the majority of cheaters, i think the game is very well playable. I think faceit shows this very well, even though they are certainly not cheat free, the experience is much better than in valve matchmaking.
the cheating is also forcing people to smurf. i played for thousands of hours just on 1 account and never smurfed. made it to GE in solo queue. but the cheating got so bad that i now have to have 8 accounts just to be able to play a game or two sometimes, then i get kicked by my cheating teammates and get 14 day cooldown, so i have to go to the next account. it does suck for the couple legit people i play against but 90% of matches there are cheaters in both teams.
yeah, its really funny how people seem to think other people who most likely arent in a good state of mental well being because of certain circumstances that do set their pitch to down and yaw backwards and just start raging against the entire server, most likely in retaliation to someone on the enemy team either closeting or semiraging, is the definitive problem that they think everyone else should think about. but no, it really isn't, if cheating is getting into the gated communities that most cheaters wouldn't care about, therein lies the issue, its not that there's a bunch of people raging in valve's public servers, its that its gotten so bad that even faceit has the issue, even with their highly intrusive approach similar to valorant's vanguard, they cant keep out the most closeted of cheaters. back then we had solutions for this that didn't intrude on someone's personal digital privacy. h u m a n b a s e d r e v i e w / m o d e r a t i o n, but now with machine learning on the rise, i think that it can be possible to offload most cases to the algorithm, and have edge cases be covered by humans. look, dont get me wrong, the fact that its an issue to begin with isnt great, but if we're allowing ourselves to be blind by those that actually care about stroking their egos and "making themselves look like X pro player" when in reality its just humanized legit aimbot/triggerbot, esp, and in the worst case its an external cheat that's visual assistance only or with humanized aim assist or triggerbot.
The only way i can continue to play the game is to block enemy names, block enemy chat, block my teammates' names and delude myself into thinking everyone is better than me. Damn their gaming chairs!

People who claim that there is no cheating in faceit can go eat a bag of phallic-shaped objects. A few years ago a bunch of players based in Sweden got banned for cheating using things such as nosmoke and radar. It seems Valve is really stubborn on wanting to have hard evidence of third-party software running on the end-user's machine (along with their commitment to be unintrusive). That's the only good reason I can think of for letting rage hacks run rampant on their servers. In addition to what has been suggested using stats like the ones Leetify generates, it should be really easy to observe a player's camera vector over time and pick out rage hacks. It would be more complicated than this but i.e. a player is looking down for >95% of the round and making crazy flicks getting multikills - that should probably get flagged Things like: -Average player speed per round -Natural vs unnatural crosshair movement (especially during flicks and sprays) - bullets fired per second (like seriously how are those cheats not detected) -wallbangs based on information gained in round (this is a really complex and advanced metric though) Could all be used to detect unnatural behavior. If not banning players, these metrics should at least be grouped together in a trust-factor-like manner I think the idea is that valve isn't quite sure of what bugs do and don't exist in the game. They aren't the type to be banning based off of exploits, only third party software. In the same vein they're also definitely very wary of falsely banning players. If they're not gonna ban based on in-game metrics I think our only hope is a more aggressive trust-factor system based on those metrics.
Statistical anomaly is a double edge sword. I know multiple person having a disease that make their recoil jittery. Which is a statistical anomaly in itself. I am anti cheat dev and these are all indictators for sure. None of them are hard and fast excepting that extreme rage hack blatent stats such has 99/100 accuracy and 5k every round and odd camera vectors. Leetify does make it quite easy to see who is cheating, based on what I know of cheaters. Additionally cheaters on matchmaking tend to flock together in groups of 2 or more, lending more information when you combine stats of people who group together. They do this to avoid getting kicked by their team.
There is a much better reason for Valve to do this. Cheaters who get banned in vac waves have to come back and pay for new prime matchmaking, new skins, etc. Probably most of their revenue from cs comes from cheaters buying new accounts. Hence, their optimal profit is achieved by banning cheaters not often enough to drive them to other games, but just often enough to get them to pay again. This is just economics.

Thanks for this video and summarizing how many players are feeling. Playing against hackers ruins the game. People are even questioning whether pros are hacking DURING tournaments. It's such a terrible time in the game. I've been playing since 1999 and cs_mansion was the main map. I played through the days where we had to download the updates on 56k. CS1.6 transition to CS:CZ and CS:S and then the weird transition into CS:GO. This is by far the most profound time that I can remember. No one can be trusted and the the biggest violator of that is Valve. They allowed this to happen. My only guess is that they will implement a system where you have to pay to get out of the lobbies of hackers since they seem to refuse the idea of a kernel level anti-cheat. Something that many people should be very weary of (ESEA bitcoin mining)... The game is unplayable...even in FaceIt. I hope they find something soon, because the game is hurting.
pros have and do cheat during tournaments, this was already obvious with flusha in 2015/16 and valve did nothing, so now everyone and their grandmother is cheating at every level of competition. tournament orgs have also refused for years to address these issues by taking basic measures like airgapping the tournament lan networks or not allowing players to plug in their phones and use their own hardware on stage or during practice.
I watched NeokCS's video on this and he reviewed two games. I could not tell they were cheating at all, it's extremely hard to tell.

NeokCS was talking about this guy as if it were so easy to tell that he was cheating, and the only argument he had was that he pulled his knife in some questionable situations, as if that would make him a blatant cheater, and that he's so obvious with it, when in reality everyone with actual experience at a high level in cs would hesitate to make such a statement.
@the Neok vid was exactly like the post-ban comments...pure bullshit haha. I've seen the demos as well, and no way that you could tell he was blatantly cheating.
The point should be. Overwatch is meant for "beyond reasonable doubt". A skilled player with some game lag and a bad connection can look inhuman to a inexperienced player. But also to a pro player it seems. So we need proof of cheating, not investigations and acquisitions.
I have a question I've been meaning to ask. Maybe Valve can't detect cheats in game, but why can they not look back at stats post-match to ban cheaters or at the very least discount those games. I have met spinbotters in my games who on Leetify have 50ms time to damage or 60K/D. Shouldn't this be easy for Valve to detect? If timetodamage < 100ms then banPlayer. Am I missing something?
lmao are you going to realize you are a slave, a product, a chicken that's farmed for eggs, a cow farmed for milk - to valve you're just a profit node, they don't care about you or the game.
what exactly timetodamage means though? like if i scan someone through smoke/prefire corner my timetodamage will be low? what if its gonna be only 1-2 rounds and then enemy/my team will surrender, my timetodamage should be really low by then
To me, an even bigger question is, how is it possible that the VAC cannot detect literally impossible stuff like milion actions per second, 5 scout shots in less than a second. It seems so basic, I mean, yeah there are instances where you can enable some stuff via sv cheats, but still, such things should be easily detectable or not possible to do at all.
@@ddream296 yes, basing solely on time to damage would be a terrible metric, if you get one good prefire in, then the team surrenders you'd get banned in theory yes
There is no reality now or in the future where AI or manual review of game footage from replays is going to produce conclusive evidence that someone is "legitcheating" consistently. Overwatch is there to to speed up banning of obvious cheaters that vac has no way of detecting yet. When using overwatch in csgo you were supposed to report only obvious cheaters not sus players you think might be "legitcheating". (TLDR: You're wrong, 3kliksphilip statement is right).
Online competitive games are too broken now. In other sports they have anti doping tests which fail plenty. In esports there is no such thing but at least we had anti cheats and demo reviews. We reached a point where even spectating someone playing you can't tell if they are cheating or not. In some cases cheaters were caught even in LAN events. So it is clear that in order to still have competitions you need only LAN's in a respectful and trustworthy league where everything is transparent with plenty of over the shoulder witnesses all players using league gear they are not allowed to change in any way besides the settings of the game within certain regulations. So for everyone else, for all of us at home, the only way is to forget about these type of games and just play single player games. As for online types, maybe co-op only ones. The competitive side is history. As even if you are interested you would only play in LAN or private servers and will not bring enough attention to make it worth it for the leagues to exist.
2 year ban for cheating is a bit strange, wouldn't it be longer like 8 years which would be a life sentence in pro Esports, Some also suspect he was using the sv_cheats exploit this would make more sense given a 2 year ban.
This is why people should really understand how cheating works. They think it's spinbotting or obvious examples... But the true damage are the ones exploiting it to defraud the esports/competitive scene. The faceit/esea anticheat, and the Vanguard AC are more intrusive, but are flawed and bypassed, but because of the survivorship bias, people think they have good lobbies, putting to much trust to the point where the cheaters get away with it, because you can say '[x] should have detected it'
The cheating issue is gonna reach a dilemma in the future: 1. Have Passport/State ID connected to your account. (Already practiced in some places. 2. Penel consequences for cheating (also practiced in some places) 3. Have hard to modify consoles/machines only used for esports (potentially can be bypassed) 4. Human microchips (okay a joke, but also a possibility, maybe a webcam setup like ones uses by exams during covid) It's gonna be a mess

as someone from a community that semi-regularly has public bans like this, it's amazing how frequently cheaters will get banned and use a presumed silence of the dev to gain face by admitting to a lesser crime. it's also quite depressing how frequently it works. Always funny to see when a dev does break silence and confirms the scumbag to be so.
Do you reckon making the game no longer free to play would help? Right now if someone gets banned, all it takes is a new steam account and they're back on. If they have to pay for £15 or so price tag, that would help deter cheaters surely.
Kinda. It will slow down some but even back when CS was a paid game, there are lots of cheaters. There are also steam keys that can make it extremely cheap to buy the game constantly
I mean they could go even more drastic and remove skins and cases from the game which would remove a chunk of the market around exploits for the game but that would also remove a lot of profits for valve
Cheats are more expensive than game itself. Afaik 60$ monthly subscription in most cases. (Based on yt interviews with cheats developers) So this 15$ once in a while won't change shit for them. As for people who would use free cheats, it is not a problem at all, vac handles those kind of cheats fast and effectively. Once they are public signature is known it takes minutes to get banned.
The game isn't free-to-play though? Raising the price will deter possible players that will choose other games like Valorant. Also, there are millions of accounts with cs that can be bought for dirt-cheap.
i kinda wish the reasons for a ban were accessible to everyone. theres so much speculation in cases like these and theres really no use in keeping this private imo. if you cheat, you should be shamed.
No idea why faceit haven't gone out and said anything. I think it's very unprofessional to event comment at first, but then not follow up on it or anything.
a lot of times devs stay quiet about reasons for the ban to make sure the cheat devs dont know what got them caught so in theory this makes it harder for them to patch the cheats to become undetectable again
@@TheN1hilist eh i think thats a dumb reason. they dont have to be specific about it. just say "used external software to gain an unfair advantage" and it would be enough.

All games have this problem because you can't just run every player on the server, the user has to have some control over their serverside state. That's the unfortunate state of modern technology.
That's exactly why kernel level anti-cheats won't solve any issues, while also opening a gaping security hole in every computer it's in. It'll just move the bar for cheaters to get even better cheats, which they inevitably will. I applaud Valve for not falling for the easy bait of "just do this!" that the uninformed masses ask for. @@Arcidi225 Faceit has far less cheaters on it and the AC runs on kernel level, therefore I think it's reasonable to deduct that Kernel level anticheats do work, whether the game is CS or not
This is why I stopped playing competitive games in my early 20s. It's just not worth the drama. I play games for fun and don't care if I lose because if I had to care about THAT I'd be in a permanent state of emotional toxic shock.
The competitive scene for this game is a gaslighting simulator infested with closet cheats passing themselves off as legit. I was playing casual valve MM against a FaceIT 8 player ( verified through FaceIT finder ) Where the guy spent the half the game accusing me and another player on my team cheating because he had bad timing and ran corners without using proper util to clear rage toggle aimbot and wh. Called them out on it only for them to cling to their FaceIT rank a justification for them to go from a potato to Donk in a span of 15 seconds.
The youtube comment section suddenly acts like they have 3 Major MVPs under their belt when in reality none of them could really tell before the accusations.
Ive seen some cases in paradox map games where that's the case. Seen plenty of people exploit once or twice to get a leg up in a war they felt they deserved to win, and not again after that, including in singleplayer ironman for certain achievements, because of the time investment into the game and how bad luck can instantly destroy you if you get the event that spawns the reformation. But when it comes to dota, cs, minecraft, and many more... once a cheater always a cheater
Crazy how a pro player can’t spot cheats. But players who have probably been stuck in silver hell for 3 years from smurfs and cheaters can pick them out like that
Thing is, Wonderful_Y is already a very strong player. He has movement, aim, knows how to peak, knows how to use utility etc. It makes spotting it incredibly difficult. If it’s a new player with 500 hours, they can’t hide walls/radar because it’s too obvious.
@@sunny3545 Correlation does not equal causation. Silvers spotted the cheats because they call cheats on everyone. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut eventually.
It’s about perspective and bias. If you go into thinking that he’s just like every other faceit grinder then you’re just ignoring some signs. And not to mention the obvious of course silvers will accuse anyone better than them of cheating. They’re both nobodies, one a silver and another a potential cheater. But a pro has more responsibility and consequences if he accuses other pros for cheating.
I've gotta say when OW first came out and it became a popular thing for YTers to make videos of them reviewing OW cases... I just like lost all respect for the one's I was subscribed to that did it. The suspect takes his hand off of the mouse running out of spawn and its like "SEE! HES GOT WALLS!", then it would be like the YTer talking to the subs and the suspect kills someone that comes around the corner and it'd be like "DID YOU SEE THAT!? HOW DID HE KNOW HE WAS THERE"... dude you were just talking into your camera, you're not listening to or paying attention to whats going on. When I reviewed OW cases I took it really seriously. It's not just cheatmakers or malicious people that polluted the AI test data it's a bunch really vain people aswell.
That's why ow access has to be given strictly with much higher requirememts than before. OW access should also be able to be taken away permanently if someone makes too many mistakes in their judgement
Sadly Kernel level anti-cheats are not much better at preventing good cheats, unless he randomly turned on some free cheats i suspec this ban is more likeley from data analysis and manual review (banned for being "luckier than possible") rather than faceit's anti-cheat actualy catching cheating software good enough to be undetected for big parts of his career.
Should be noted The Prodigies is not one of the dodgy teams spoken about in relation to Wonderful_Y. The ban on consss was only form one tournament organizer and it is hotly contested if he even cheated or not. The Prodigies was a very serious talent development squad of free agents organized by the Prodigy Agency, meaning young players signed to the agency could get playtime as a team while remaining available to sign for free for interested teams. Wonderful_Y's dodgy teams refer to orgless squads from the CIS region, such as Doge Soldiers with Qweall (strongly suspected of associating with cheaters circumventing bans in Major qualifiers) and Sergiz (famously, a member of Akuma, several members of which are nowadays banned for matchfixing by ESIC). Several other games and teams in open qualifiers and alike, too low to show up on HLTV, and thus go largely unnoticed. Just saying - while consss himself is a bit suspect because of the ban from European Pro League, it's far from concerned and the team "The Prodigies" should not be considered shady by any means.

It's doable to bypass kernel anticheat anyways if you know what you're doing, at the end of the day anticheat doesn't really solve anything and is just a pointless arms race where the user will always win, because the user (should) always be in control of their computer.

yeah a lot of the retroactive "look at x he is cheating" is dumb stuff found by people with confirmation bias. BUT SOME OF IT is literally incriminating evidence. It would've been nice if you wanted to comment giving your opinion if you actually had one. Like a standpoint on specific cases not just "all of this is stupid". Just because sifting through idiots is tedious, does not mean you can automatically call everyone an idiot for having an opinion (especially when your stance is "I have no opinion"). The faceit mods were probably doing this same "stupid" shit in a group chat until they had enough that was indicative of cheating.

To play online games your forced to have the most intrusive of software possible running on your personal computer? That is the solution? To bad single player games that have you pay $70+ loaded with loot boxes and endless money extraction ALSO force that intrusive crap on you. Not only ruining the game performance with frame murder and stutters. Also taking hold of your hole computer and scanning every little dirty secret. Like what brand of bread you like. Or what company to sell your personalized ad information to. The solution is not to force down to the firmware and kernel level anti-cheat. That is the kind of solution your going for when trying to fight digital warfare in a world war. Or you know... Steal with fake consent your 'data'. It really dose not matter how one twist and turns it. It is stalking activity rooting around someone's else's trash bin. Let alone walking right up to there schedule board and noting down al of it. Or taking sleep habits that not even the freaking person your stalking are putting down as data on a paper or storage device! All for your safety ofc. Or to stop spinbots? Closet cheaters? What is the excuses? All are bad. If Valve or anyone wants full kernel and complete control of a machine? Then the machine better be sold as that too. Like a console ONLY to play those online games. And the only thing that SteamDeck truly have going for it? It is the fact that is is a personal computer. Running opposite to Microsoft and Windows trying to control the costumers device. Nintendo Switch is not a personal computer. It might be able to run a web browser or whatever. You can probably jail-brake it and mod it. You can probably also develop cheats and spinbots for Nintendo games/hardware if you want and cared to. It really solves nothing trying to stop bad actors and cheats. If there is any proof needed then go and look up all the examples of DRM's that ruins games. Where pirates got the clear and in all ways the better experience. The hole POINT of Steam is that instead of fighting pirates they deliver a better service then pirating. I will not buy a console solely to play CS2. Rather stop playing online games completely if your being made to both pay and be handled at the same time like a crook/cheat. Solving the cheating problems is up on Valves and their server sides. Not forcing costumers give them the keys to there front door. And lock to the garbage bin. And optional give up your time table. We want to know when you walk passed a dark corner. For your safety! Totally! Do not mind the pixels I'm holding. Gambled for the pixel in something called loot boxes.

Cheating is so common in most FPS's now that I just assume for every blatantly obvious cheater there are 10 more who are just hiding it.

Alright so we use something equivalent to faceit anticheat which clearly also has problems. And we're right back to where we are now.

The story changes daily.

Its to the point where every lucky shot, every good play, and good gamesense is being called out as cheating. most of my reports are from teammates after i call them out for cheating. and then you get a cooldown. im basically forced to have a bunch of alt accounts just so i can call out cheating or leave games when people cheat.

For some reason a few prominent morons showed the former camp a lot of sympathy, despite being functionally identical to the latter camp.
But how do we know that he wasn't using the 'sv_cheat' cheat, and instead some external cheat? Being the number one player on the platform, Faceit should at least make a statement and tell us why he was banned.

Well I still play for the thrill of good momentum but I feel you. I think what's happening to CS right now is only the precursor of what might happen on a very large scale to the internet as we know it in general, it is becoming obsolete in front of newere more powerful technologies. People still think internet is made to last forever but in 20-30 years from now I think it will be no more or something completely different, weaponized and definitely not free anymore.
@@kroooassant9899 The internet hasn't been "free" for years.

People who claim that there is no cheating in faceit can go eat a bag of phallic-shaped objects. A few years ago a bunch of players based in Sweden got banned for cheating using things such as nosmoke and radar. They were all the way up in FPL-C and rigged matches to ensure who did and did not get into FPL. One of the players had over 4000 matches played on the platform.
A rather huge scandal that somehow did not get much attention and is mostly forgotten.
i THINK i know what are you talking about, were they playing in a team called PAPERPLANES?
ALL the pros cheat, always have. They use hardware level cheats they pay 50,000 dollars for, can't be found out obviously
It would be more complicated than this but i.e. a player is looking down for >95% of the round and making crazy flicks getting multikills - that should probably get flagged
Things like:
-Average player speed per round
-Natural vs unnatural crosshair movement (especially during flicks and sprays)
- bullets fired per second (like seriously how are those cheats not detected)
-wallbangs based on information gained in round (this is a really complex and advanced metric though)
Could all be used to detect unnatural behavior. If not banning players, these metrics should at least be grouped together in a trust-factor-like manner
I think the idea is that valve isn't quite sure of what bugs do and don't exist in the game.
While those things are good to keep track, it punishes the unconventional player. Remember that Simple at one point has horrible crosshair placement and he was a bit dominating at the top of the scene
@@chervilious lol what? S1mple always had exceptional crosshair placement throughout his career. There were even stats, that denied that opinion, by showing that he had to flick less than his teammates.
@@Kyorinmaru that part was wrong, but still, simple has a jittery crosshair, especially during flicks. You know what else has jittery crosshair when it flicks? Any kind of aimbot, especially silent ones.

Man I'm in love with your "Valve, please fix", it ALWAYS hits hard :D Thank you!
14000 hrs of CS and still not capable enough to play without cheats, wtf?
Cs has to be one of the worst games for cheating considering how popular it is. Such a shame because I used to love this game
@@dioivan77755five scout shots in one second? What am I missing here

4:45 thats clearly not true, VAC is made for the obvious cases of cheating whereas overwatch is for the more subtle players who are just legitcheating
There is no reality now or in the future where AI or manual review of game footage from replays is going to produce conclusive evidence that someone is "legitcheating" consistently. Overwatch is there to to speed up banning of obvious cheaters that vac has no way of detecting yet.
1:21 the best soundtrack but mising snapping
2 year ban for cheating is a bit strange, wouldn't it be longer like 8 years which would be a life sentence in pro Esports,
Some also suspect he was using the sv_cheats exploit this would make more sense given a 2 year ban.
This is why people should really understand how cheating works. They think it's spinbotting or obvious examples... But the true damage are the ones exploiting it to defraud the esports/competitive scene. The faceit/esea anticheat, and the Vanguard AC are more intrusive, but are flawed and bypassed, but because of the survivorship bias, people think they have good lobbies, putting to much trust to the point where the cheaters get away with it, because you can say '[x] should have detected it'
The cheating issue is gonna reach a dilemma in the future:
1. Have Passport/State ID connected to your account. (Already practiced in some places.
2. Penel consequences for cheating (also practiced in some places)
3. Have hard to modify consoles/machines only used for esports (potentially can be bypassed)
4. Human microchips (okay a joke, but also a possibility, maybe a webcam setup like ones uses by exams during covid)
It's gonna be a mess

(Based on yt interviews with cheats developers)
So this 15$ once in a while won't change shit for them.

I keep their steam profile URL's on a notepad to check from time to time and laugh how everyone who thinks this game has no cheating problems, is actually borderline schizophrenic delusional.
yoo thats me 2:16:D
Idk wtf faceit is, I am just here for Philip to over explain something in an interesting way
fuck this game
0:29 that's me 😎😎😎
Number one in Eu and Na both getting banned is crazy
Hey I know this ain't the place to discuss this right now, but what was uhhmm, wonderful_y's blue smokey steam background called, anyone here know peeps?
