    I need a more basic introduction: what are these batteries used for in the home, and when? Are these like generators? Where are they manufactured? Thanks, Nate.

      Great question Susan - Yes, they are like generators, but without the noise or fumes. This particular battery that I did a review on is meant only as a "add-on" battery, not as an independent power station. They are manufactured in China

      If you are looking for one that is manufactured in the USA, I believe the Patriot Power Generator 2000X is manufactured Utah by 4Patriots, an American company based in Nashville, Tennessee. -- Maybe a bad assumption on my part, but thought I'd relay this information to you as well.

      @@TheKraemerLifeOk, that’s what it sounded like…an add-on. I was curious about an independent power station and the domestic manufacturers in Utah. I’m just building basic knowledge at this point. Thanks again!

    Nate, I'm confident that you will reply, if you know the answer, i have yet to have anyone answer this and maybe it's the way I'm asking, in my genuine ignorance: I want an indoor generator (with solar to recharge) in emergency, for my home kitchen refrigerator/freezer, and have no idea what wattage (is that the correct term) to look for or how to figure it out. I can go online for any information needed on my refrigerator. I hear wonderful things about Bluetti and by January ill know if i have some back pay, so I'm trying to get some education.
    I enjoy you, your wife and friends on your videos,
    Laural

      Hi Laural - Nate here. This is a great question. If you know the make/model of your fridge/freezer, you can use Google to help find the energy usage, typically by year. For example, I googled "LG LRSXS2706V wattage" and found that my frige/freezer consumes about 726,000 watts per year, which is roughly 1990 watts per day, or 83 watts per hour. So now I know how many Watt Hours I need my portable power station to have in order to run the fridge/freezer for a whole day (about 2,000 watt hours --- 83 watts per hour times 24 hours = 1990 watt hours). But it's a bit more complicated than that because A) the fridge doesn't really consume 83 watts per hour -- it will only consume that much when it's running at max power consumption, which most of the time it's not and B) the portable power station doesn't give out 100% of it's rated Watt Hours because it's not 100% efficient. -- but with that said, I can still power my fridge/freezer for nearly 24 hours using a 2,000 Watt Hour portable power station. If I want to power my fridge for 2 days using only the portable power station, I would need around 4,000 watt hours of storage capacity. --- I hope this helps. If you want more help, feel free to email me at thekraemerlife@outlook.com.

    How long do they hold the charge when not using

    • @TheKraemerLife
      @TheKraemerLife  2 місяці тому

      Excellent question. The information I'm seeing online (by the manufacturer and other sources) state the battery will self-discharge about 3% of capacity each month. But it seems that depends on "conditions such as temperature". In my own experience, I've never looked at it that closely, but each time i've gone to use a portable power station after it's been sitting unused for a few months, it's 'seems' to be close to the same level it was when I last used it -- but then again, I use them frequently enough that it's rare for me to go months without using them.
