Tamara, girl, you are doing the thing! I keep my overflow of sugar (as you said in the original package, plus over wrapped in a doubled plastic shopping bag) in a Tidy Cat pail! Yes you read that right. A clean, washed and bleached out tidy cat pail. My logic is that if it kept cat litter (a substance specifically designed to draw moisture) dry, then surely it will do the same for sugar, especially when kept in the original packaging and over-wrapped with a doubled plastic shopping bag. Guess what? It’s completely fine! I’ve also repurposed a tidy cat litter pail as a trash can for my office. It also works well. ♻️ Reuse, reduce, recycle! Waste not, want not! Lead on, Sister!
Nice tip putting the Mylar bags into those buckets. I'm having a bad day today, so the extra motivation to help me clean is helpful. Thank you for all you do. And hello Max!!
We buy the great big bag of real bacon bits from Sam’s Club as well. Once we open the package we store it in the freezer. The bacon pieces don’t stick together and we just take out what we need and thaw for five or 10 seconds in the microwave.

What you are doing is fine. You only need food grade if you putting directly into bucket. However….. if you put in food grade OR Mylar bags you will fit so much more in it. You can put 30 pounds sugar in a 5 gallon bucket if you use food grade or mylar instead of the 2 ten pound bags. Just a thought to save money you can just get 3 food grade buckets and use for flour sugar rice..or whatever you want to keep in working pantry that you use all the time to maximize that space. I have 42 buckets 20 are food grade that and the rest not food grade inside mylar

You are fine with the buckets. I do mine same, I prefer not to open items & dump into buckets because I feel like if you open those containers, & the stuff just sitting there, there could be dust, lint, hair in the air or clothing that drops in it.
I am like you, I so love the feeling of having food security but also for if things come up like when we had shutdown, my husband was very ill in hospital several times abt 5 yrs ago & it was so nice to not have to worry abt going to grocery because I spent so much time at hospital. Just your staples items.
I have had times when my kids were Lil & were in hospital & I will not leave thrm alone so I basically lived there & just didn't have time to make a big grocery run.

Those buckets and lids are food grade if you look at the number on the bottom. I also buy those because they are cheap and I store my food in either the original package or in mylar.
The food grade buckets are different. They are made out of different materials that are safe to storage food directly in. The blue buckets are safe to use as long as you keep in packaging or bags. Regular buckets like the blue one are made of toxic materials that aren’t safe to storage food directly in. The toxins can break down into the food over time.
I just shopped yesterday, so it's a hot mess here! Lol so I'm trying to put my mess away as I'm canning green beans. Those buckets are fine as long as it's still in the bag/box.

Why will Jesus tell some people “depart from me you worker of iniquity” when they try to enter Heaven?
Matthew 7:23
“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
Jesus will say this because these people never trusted in His death, burial, and resurrection alone as the payment for their sin debt, so God has no choice but to separate Himself from them.
It’s not God that is the one keeping them from spending eternity with Him. Rather, it’s their free will rejection of Him. God doesn’t send anyone to hell, and even says He wishes none would perish.
2 Peter 3:9
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
God cannot live in the presence of sin. By His grace He gave us a way to live with Him in Heaven for eternity through Jesus, who washes us clean of sin. Hallelujah!
To be saved and be 100% certain that you’ll spend eternity in Heaven, simply believe that Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and rose to Heaven on the 3rd day.
John 3:16 KJV: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
