I always loved this song on Bananarama's debut album. So innocent sounding the Banananas version. I heard the Bluebells version on radio one day and thought I know this song from somewhere. And come to find out it was covered by them.
That violin bow camera TOTP put on back then at the end of the clip. The producers/directors were trying way too hard to be 90s edgy for a very folky sounding song.
Not gonna lie. This sons was about a decade or so too late and yet it still worked. I hated it at first and then become addicted. It’s such a wonderfully great song
bobby bluebell is the guitarist not the vocalist...i think, anyway i totally didn't remember it was bobby valentino who played that violine!! thank you for uploading
Think he ended up going to court and getting 100k for it.....deservedly so......Hated the song myself, but couldn't ignore it's likeability within the pop culture..
Yeah the lead singer of the bluebells, he looked like Steve strange at the time. Then she shacked up with dave Stuart from the eurythmics for a very long time. Another lucky man.
I think this is completely wrong ! Nothing to do with the violin it was the fact it was an uptempo version ! The Bananarama version doesn't even sound like the same song !
The violin in the song really raised it to another level and made it stand out.
One of the MAJOR songs of my childhood, nice to know the background of it.
That part where he formulates the violin riff was delightful.
Bobby Valentino is great. See him playing with his band The Pistoleros. Pure magic!
Absolutely brilliant ❤
Money makes the world go round y'all. He DID make the song what it was and deserves his recompense

You're right, Bobby Bluebell is the guitarist. Typical BBC, not doing proper research!
Im sure the song writer had a bigger say than the producer,to add it,does give it a great melody, bobby played on big country's Elecetric album 👍

Bobby Valentino is awesome! Check out his stuff with the Electric Bluebirds!

She wasn't Ken's girlfriend she was bobby's
A travesty of justice!!!!
