7:07 So winded after the performance that he had no idea where he was going.
Not winded. Immersed.
you all probably dont give a shit but does any of you know of a way to get back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly lost my login password. I would appreciate any help you can give me
@Preston Immanuel Instablaster :)
lmao true 😂😂.
he's trying to escape but there's no door
Merci!
I've said that many times.
The faces Daniil makes just add to his charm! His playing conveys such light-heartedness and depth at the same time, and seeing his very real expressions of fury and rapture add even more joy to the whole experience. And though i see comments insulting his hair and appearance, he looks like Franz Liszt which is NOT a bad thing...wow!
WOW!The imaginationhe has makes this something more than it appears on the page ! It never sounded this fabulously textured , driven but fanciful dreamlike so much to his playing in this ! The last minute Wizardry !!!
How ABSOLUTELY SUPERB! Everyone who's recorded this plays it very well, but THIS is head and shoulders above most, because its so wonderfully REFINED, and truly EXPRESSIVE. BRAVO! BRAVISSIMO!
There are sections of this sonata that transported me to hitherto unknown worlds of exquisiteness
WOW!! Control is unbelievable..
That little E flat section of happiness at 6:31... so out of place, but so IN PLACE!! Makes this movement very worth playing around with. There will always be another Horowitz, another Trifonov, another whoever. But there will never be another Prokofiev! Love his music so much. It speaks to my soul.
Brilliant rendition of this fun work by Prokofiev. I played this a long time ago, and I truly appreciate the clarity and solid feeling and craftsmanship and detail Daniel uses in this work! Wow!! So exciting!!
I played it at six years old
What a masterpiece! Brilliant performance! And his facial expression are so . . !
Extraordinary! one of the best performances ever heard of this sonata! *****

Great! Thanks! I will be watching.
how can anyone dislike this performance?! it is perfect tempo, just about perfect execution, musical - everything just makes sense!
When I play this piece, I really love it!
Yea then you wake up 😂
0:06 exposition
1:23 second theme
2:57 development
5:07 recapitulation
6:21 coda
Magnifico. Grazie.
Amazing performance. I am honored to be his co-artist at the same company. BTW I had a heart-attack for I thought the title said "Arthur Rubinstein Master Class". I was like OMG ghost.
My favorite version of the sonata. It's frenetic by construction, not interpretation. Prokofiev's fevered mind crammed a 30-minute sonata into 7 minutes. Trifonov understands that.
Faster than normal tempi work very well here...thrilling performance.
Oh man, unbelievable. Why does he have to play it so perfectly?! Mind blown ...
Amazing performance!
"Too many notes! Why did I eat them all!"
It's amazing performance
Very beautiful sonata!!!
Very beautyful Daniil Trifonov!!!!!🎶👏👏👏
What a fantastic performance of this otherwise very technically challenging piece!
Put this on itunes and I'll buy it
simply amazing
This is totally amazing!
Fabulous
Extraordinary! He plays each note with so much emotion and precision. Maybe a little too fast for my taste though, still this is one of my favorite versions of the sonata.
Btw I love his facial expression lol
xD
This IS extraordinary... For me as well, this is a little bit faster than I would prefer, but the clarity and precision are amazing. I've frequently heard the opening section of this piece just turned into a muddle, but not in this performance... superb..
Haha, he really does become the pieces he plays.
Wow. Well done.
😮😮😮im working on this piece and was so happy with my progress til I heard this! Either of these 2 things will now happen: I’m just gonna give up on it or I’ll work on it harder than ever!!!😂This man is a hybrid: half god/half human!!❤
Incredible
This guy is amazing... I'm gutted I wasn't able to attend his Manchester performance in October.
No worries. The other star is here: Jovan Stojković especially playing Rachmaninov.
Holy shit I just saw him live tonight!
Magnífico!!!
I thought it would be impossible to find a better version of this piece than Gilels'... but now I have Trifonov :O
I absolutely agree..Gilles tempi are too slow...
Jack Dullboy Gavrilov is the best in my opinion
He was 2011 just 20 years old!
How is this humanly possible
With spending much time
Well, yes of course, but not only. So many people just play the notes very very well. DAniil Trifonov does much more, touches the soul.
sounds like rubbish noise to me i prefer rach or liszt
Liszt? Really?
@chobeethaninov I totally agree with you. He's phenomenal, I've played this piece and would aspire to play it this well.
He plays amazing!!!
Brilliant
Excellent !!!
Same tempo as Gavrilov's, also on YT. I think G. better captures Prokofiev's idea for this sonata. DT's sounds more sophisticated and pampered. Still , wonderful playing.
Great video! (You have Kempf hair..)
( :
That's obviously a compliment. lol
Your performance has been absolutely exquisite!
this person is mad! :O
i love him
Well played !
Bravo👍🏻
C’est très bien music
Sehr gut..!
Does anyone out there know if Prokovief had a middle upper extremity, complete with biphasic (thumb on both sides) hand?
If making faces help him make better music, good for him. Leave him alone with his faces.
Already way better than LL
It is part of the performance
I don’t understand these people they can close their eyes if they don’t want to see pianists making faces they can at least control their own body
I love those faces
I love watching them. I've started to feel my pieces more and it comes out from the face lol. It's a little funny, but it helps a lot
4:02 that scared me
wtf..
@@Latinosmassacre- i know right
Russian pianists play Russian prices. Best combination.
*pieces :)
Fantástica, pieza e interpretacion
Let's see... Prokofief wrote this sonata in 1917 and Gilels was born in 1916. So if what you say is correct, then Prokofief dedicated the piece to a one-year-old child. Wow! Gilels must have been quite the prodigy.
I am compelled to agree.
He was possessed by the spirit of prokofiev. His fingers were shaking on that last chord!
yeah, I also find them (the flower pots) ridiculous when they place them on a stage, even more on the piano, like some kind of Richard Clayerdman concert or something like that.
A Russian pianist playing a Russian song is pure beauty. :)
horowitz or rubenstein popularized it (i cant remember exactly whom). It's use for legatos, playing with the tip of your fingers flat on the keyboard instead of curved in.
I like his performance
👏👏👏👏👏
I've listened to and loved Prokofiev's work for over 50 years, but is my first time hearing this sonata. Where did he compose this - US or USSR? I'm not sure Stalin would have approved . . . .
I love 1:33~2:55.. So idyllic.
Prokofiev is not Scriabin! but he is in this interpretation
+valerian papadaki Interesting comparison and I like it both the comparison and the performance.
This theme contains e-c-h-e,surname of a girl,Prokofiev's classmate. He like her, like many others ). (Sorry for bad english)
What is the flat finger technique?
It is very effective. It’s teached in Russian schools and Horowitz used it.
yoshi_drinks_tea thanks for the reply! I’m very curious about it.
Gilels is still by far the best in this sonata.
How can you tell with all the sloppy pedling gilels does.
Personally I like Trifonov’s interpretation more
zebb1111 I have good eyes and ears.
Check Pogorelich!
valerij lisac I know Ivo's recording.
Anyone have any decent fingering suggestions for this?
Master.
It's lit up me 😋
he dedicated it afterwards...
Bravo!
Who his teacher is unknown to me.
Are you familiar with the 1967 You Tube entry of Martha Argerich ?
transcendant !
Graffman is his teacher, though...right?
I think it's too frenetic to extract maximum value from Prokofiev's invention. Prokofiev already has a problem of not always getting the most out of his ideas and this interpretation makes that even more exasperating. The old Staffen Scheja recoding on Bis was my first and still favorite. This one is technically impressive but I can't say much beyond that even for machine-age music.
No se ve nada... La pantalla está en negro.
perfect !!!!!
Nah it was kinda muddy
I honestly like this a lot more then Gilel's, Gilels some wrong notes that stick out. And this one is more exciting, although that might be partially due to the recording quality
2:55
is he using flat-finger technique?
Well he's russian
Hahaha he doesn’t know how to go back😂👏🏻
1:24
I agree......Trifonov sounds perfect...he's got the spirit....you have a feeling that Prokofiev would agree. I actually think he sounds better than Richter who Prokofiev himself greatly trusted......and trusted for debut of 7th sonata ....but Sokolov is also great for Prokofiev and sadly I cannot stand Argerich for any Prokofiev performance .....sonata or piano concerto
looks like he couldn't find the door at the end lol
You have overlooked the definitive versions: Weissenberg and G Graffman
but comparisons are ...odious
Prokofiev published this piece in 1917, and Gilels was born in 1916.....
