I adore her!!!! Even though her technique is beyond flawless, she didn’t take this piece at an insane tempo!! Coz with her it’s not about the pianist’s ego (something that quite a few concert pianists are guilty of once they attain that level!); with Yuja it’s all about portraying the music like the composer wanted!❤ Have I mentioned I adore her?!!😆❤️🫶🏼💕🥰

Love this interpretation. It can very easily sound muddy in this piece but this entire performance is very clear, every layer of the texture comes out.

I feel like Prokofiev really suits her personality as a performer

Wow; only two comments. Lovely, short piece by Prokofiev. Yuja Wang is an amazing artist!

Short? 13 pages is short? I guess it depends what you’re comparing it to. Because if you’re comparing it to a Rachmaninoff concerto, yes, it is short! Lol but if you compare it to the minute waltz, not so short.

@@aritina8379 Compared to Prokofiev's other sonatas (apart from No. 1), this one is a lot shorter than the rest.

Emil Gilels recording easily the best. The London footage is awesome

I love that recording as well, but Yuja brings out so many more things here than I've ever heard, and connects so many ideas together. This is astonishing

E gilels a maggior ragione

Horrible piece while he was immensely disturbed and likely on uppers. Try his Seventh symphony with Gofman conducting for a lovely experience of
Prokofiev, or Romeo and Juliet- the best! Watch Trifonov play this- hilarious. He staggers off the stage! Hope the fab Wang did better.
