Painstaking, tedious work that you make look very easy. What type of Boxwoods are those and are they "seep shears" or "sheep shears." I went throughout the comments to see if anyone asked about them as to not ask the same question and I put in "seep" and it was corrected for me as "sheep shears." Whatever they are you know how to use them. Beautiful 5:59. Is that the same Boxwoods that are shown in the circle? Is that considered "root pruning" at time stamp 6:00? They look lovely in those white containers side by side. Thanks for sharing your lovely garden. Thanks again.

We live partly in the Netherlands and partly in France where we have a large garden, mostly meadow, but I love flowers and shrubs. the last 4 years, since we bought the old farmhouse in France, I am slowly transforming the garden. Hi Coastalsunrise & thank you for your message 🤠 that’s true in most cases but not all ferns are shade loving plants 🌱 the one I planted next to the calibrachia (which both look fabulous that year) is in part shade as it’s shaded by the olive tree & the font for part of the day & for the last three years this fern has thrived & trebled in size , another example is the fern that self seeded along side my pond in full sun ☀️ this one has become a gorgeous specimen & looks more spectacular every year, as seen in the video above, some times things just work 🌱 think out side the box 👍🏼 all the best & have a wonderful day 🌱 Chip

So happy you enjoyed & thank you very much for your message, 🤠 the four trees that I planted in the video are not Hawthorn but they are silver birch trees , one of my favourite trees 🌳 also the four trees in pots in parts of the video these are home oaks 🌳

Is that the same Boxwoods that are shown in the circle? Is that considered "root pruning" at time stamp 6:00?
Hi there & thank you for your message 🤠 if you mean the same type of boxwoods then I’m not sure as one of them I rescued from elsewhere & the other I can’t remember as it’s so old, but they could be the same as the boxwoods in the circle are from different years & different gardens collected over time also so may not be the same as each other 😂 a right mix & match

Hi Campham 🤠 these shears are classed as sheep Shears so if you type that in on the google search I’m sure you will find them, there are many different brands to choose from so I would go for a medium priced pair 👍🏼

Ferns need shade, calibrachia needs sun!
Hi Coastalsunrise & thank you for your message 🤠 that’s true in most cases but not all ferns are shade loving plants 🌱 the one I planted next to the calibrachia (which both look fabulous that year) is in part shade as it’s shaded by the olive tree & the font for part of the day & for the last three years this fern has thrived & trebled in size , another example is the fern that self seeded along side my pond in full sun ☀️ this one has become a gorgeous specimen & looks more spectacular every year, as seen in the video above, some times things just work 🌱 think out side the box 👍🏼 all the best & have a wonderful day 🌱 Chip
