I’m 58.. was always thin until around age 52. I was really overeating. I’ve lost 12 lbs.. 25 to go. I like eating small meals 6 times a day. It’s always worked for me. Great info. Appreciated

At menopause, eating 6 times a day means releasing insulin 6 times a day. insulin is the fat storing hormone. That’s why older women gain weight, it’s almost always insulin resistance because of the huge hormonal change. Eat a bigger meal, but less times a day so you’re not releasing insulin lots of times a day. Being brainwashed for years in the 60s, 70s, 80s, to eat low fat, is why we’re all struggling as we’re older. I kept eating low fat and doing loads of cardio, as it worked great before menopause. Before menopause…but not after. I was starving myself and I still gained weight. Thanks to stupid menopause hormones! Now I eat lower carbs and do weight bearing exercise, not much cardio. Doing exactly the opposite to what I did as a young woman, worked. I found ‘Flipping Fifty’ on here, she’s in her 50s herself, take a look

@bloochoob I used to eat smaller meals 5-6 times a day and lost 57 lbs, plus it helped with my acid reflux. Now that I am in menopause I don't know what to do. Eating bigger meals seems to activate my acid reflex more.😫

Great video, just what I needed. The right motivation.
For me, losing weight, is for a disease free future, better mobility until late in life, better looks of course and to be at peace with myself. I'm deeply upset for being 10 kgs overweight.

Sounds like a great program, truly - I was excited to see this video as I’m having a very hard time losing weight and really need to as it’s started to adversely affect my health. But, though I’m 60 and morbidly obese by 80 pounds, I’m not working presently and therefore cannot afford the program. Unfortunate because again, those of us who are older don’t and often can’t lose weight like younger people. However, I like the idea you’re offering something like this for those who CAN afford it, and I do feel I’ve gotten a little bit of good information out of just this video. So, thanks and keep helping folks!

I'm so happy you made the Fit Mother project, I've been sharing all your videos with my mom and she's really been enjoying getting healthy again. Awesome info here I can't wait to show her so she can see that sleep really is so important for weight loss. She's such a busy body and doesn't sleep as much as she should so hopefully this will convince her to change that. Thanks for your help Doc.

I am so glad I found your channel.... I'm 51 years old, I go to the gym on a regular basis since many years. During the confinement with the pandemic, I walked a lot, but I realize I really need to do things differently, than I used to do at the age of 35 !!! You offer great contents adapted to my situation that will help motivate me, workout without causing more injuries to my body and get so much more benefits than trying so hard to do the same routine I used to do when I was younger.

When covid started I put on over 20 lbs and I was already overweight and 61. I had struggled with my weight since my 30s. I could lose weight temporarily but never reach my goals and maintain. Finally said enough is enough...was stuck at home and figured it's now or never. I joined noom. I liked some of the pyschology but not sure I recommend it. I'm down over 60 lbs and not overweight anymore. Would like to lose 5-10 more although I do fit in a small now...just want to be a bit more toned. Not sure if this is possible because it's lose skin really. I feel healthier than I have I years. Wish I could sleep better...it is somewhat better...appreciate the tips.

Not a modern answer. Calories counting work 100%. If you eat less than you burn, you lose weight. It’s elementary physics - nothing is from nothing. But to be able to do that, you need Food that will keep you satiated. You also want to remain healthy, with skin, bones intact. That’s where dr. Balduzzi is great source of wisdom.

Hi Anthony! Can't wait to learn from yours vidéos but 1st I have a question most of doctors can't answer and I feel so frustrated... I train 5/6 times per week, usually calisthenics, pilates or short HITS. Each time I train too hard for some time (I don't realize till IT happens after 1 or 2 weeks) I gain fat around belly and hips. No matter what I eat, macros, sugar, each time I "over train" it happens. I'm 51, does it have anything to do with sport stressing my body? If Yes, what should I do? Many thanks and greetings from France!

Thanks for writing in! It is true that after intense exercise, your cortisol levels increase (that's a good thing). So it's all about finding ways to lower them post-training and throughout the day. Consuming a quality carbohydrate post-workout can help as that produces insulin, which helps lower cortisol levels. Also meditation, deep breathing, and mindfulness practices throughout the day can also help. Best of luck!

I have a question. I feel I need to lose about 30 lbs, to feel optimal. However, I train VERY hard, with a Spartan coach, a few days a week (I've run 3 races in the last few months and intend to run a trifecta, before December). My coach INSISTS I must eat more carbs, at least when training with his team, than I normally might. I'm doing intermittent fasting, but he insists I have a good breakfast (like steel-cut oats and fruits, for instance) early morning, before our morning training sessions. Firstly, I can't digest that for beans in the 1.5 hours leading up to my training (which leaves me somewhat nauseous, when the workout gets really tough) and secondly, I feel like I'm not doing myself any weight-loss favours by ingesting carbs, since I'm over 50. My question is: How can I healthily incorporate carbs, to maximise my stamina/endurance, during a workout/race? Also, how can I eat a solid breakfast, when it takes me FOREVER to truly digest it and not feel sick, in time for a 9am workout? If I train on an empty stomach, even with electrolytes or a banana, etc., I get depleted about an hour into the 1.5 hour workout. Longer Spartan races take hours. I need to be able to sustain. The weight loss/heavy workout balance is NOT easy. Please help.
