Thank you very much... I've been holding back on working on rhythm for a long time... only realised a couple of months back how important 'groove' is, groove, articulation etc..
man u are amazing pianist. Can you do lessons on all the voicings there are in jazz. And how to play all the jazz scles and licks on top of what chords. Also most used progressions in jazz. Thanks so mmuch.
I have found that trying to sing one and two and..etc.works OK for classical music. and classical players have a tendency sing each syllable..triplets being 1 and a , sixteenths 1 E + a are very inconvenient unless the words match..
Just realized when I am playing lead on the guitar I automatically put in the notes at the correct time. Usually a few extra 16th notes but in time.. especially in fast moving gypsy style jazz.
OK..but could this be written accurately..eg. the first note could be in a pick up measure..then the second note would land on beat 1 of the first measure..I can play this song.. but if you read the real book..it is written just like you say but I assume that it is written for the general population. Listening to the song..we just ad-lib..swing notes are poorly notated anyways. I use music editors..and have found its very hard to emulate swing. Timing for jazz . Sofar..has been by listening and copying what I hear.
Dude, you have an incredible voice
LOL thank you!
My pleasure and glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome to hear. It will definitely make a big difference in your playing. Good for you!

Not a drummer have considered learning them..What is the function of the high hat in scheme of things? I always have admired the skill of drummers.

Most people interpret lead sheets differently than what's written. It's meant to be personalized.
@@freejazzlessons Makes sense
True :)
So anticipation is staring a bit early so we nail beat one..is that my take away?
It's an eighth note earlier than you'd normally play.
