Same here! I decided recently to download the ROMs on the Dolphin Emulator and have been having a VIEWTIFUL time! But unfortunately, it's Capcom who has the rights to the game, just holding onto it for however long. I hope that a HD Remaster or ANYTHING can come soon since the 20th Anniversary of the first game is going to be in 2025
Man, VJ2 was my favorite game as a kid, got it used at goodwill back when they still sold games in store, managed to perfect most of it and even then i beat it on every difficulty, Jet black ain't no joke on ultraV rated, at half health he shot out those hard to see blades that constantly floated around him until you beat him. also, on ultra V getting hit without powers was instant death.
VJ was so incredible. I loved 2 too, not as much as 1 and was so sad they released obviously-gonna-fail red hot rumble and 2-enemies-on-screen DS and cancelled the series because of the bad sales 😢
5:12 Hahaha, man, the way Joe slowly leans to his left while Sylvia is pointing him with the gun just cracks me up, its like he's nervously trying to pretend he's not affraid of her.
I vividly remember watching my older brother play this game on his GameCube back when I was around 4-6 years old. I’m now 25 years old and was remembering him because he has passed away and this game came up on my mind again. I always wanted to play it but had little to no game awareness to make it past the first mission 😂 but I loved watching that dude play this game. I wish it could get the justice it deserves with a remake but somethings are best left in the past I guess.
Love the Viewtiful Joe games, if nothing else they're ripe for an HD remastering, with a few... boons for the player, would really like a few more checkpoints, when I was playing through 1 on Adult difficulty, it took like 5 hours to beat the boss rush stage and like 2-3 of that was beating Fire Leo... just wish there were a few more places I could put the game down and go right back to.
I still remember seeing the series advertised, in my mind it was like one of the big names in gaming cause i saw it everywhere. Just knew i wouldn't be able to convince my parents (mostly mom) to get it for an art the time 7-8 year old lol. But have been playing them and the spin offs now while also watching the actually pretty cool anime. Hope it can be properly concluded but for now, I'm down for just ports to start. Capcom has been going nuts with those lately at least so it's likely
Viewtiful Joe 2 was the very first game I played on PS2. I was used to bigger games like Dragon Ball z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3, God of War, Genji, Kingdom Hearts, and Jak, all games I played on my cousin's console. VJ2 felt like a downgrade compared to them so I stopped playing after 30 minutes. Then, years later, I picked it up again and boy was I wrong about this game. I think I'm gonna play both games again because I forgot most of the story and gameplay.
I'm going through my old games and I can't find the first one in each series. I have Viewtiful Joe 2 but 1 is missing from the case. Mario Galaxy 2 but missing Galaxy 1, SSX 3 but Tricky is nowhere to be found. 🤦 WTF man haha. I got Mario 64 but no Sunshine. 😁 Storage hell.
@@Under10Hours Yeah. Starting to think my X GF has it as I have double of other games I know I only bought once. 😕 I dusted off my PS2 trying to play SSX but man the graphics were just enough to wish it was sharper. I pop in MK Double Dash and Viewtiful Joe on the Wii and man it looks clean to my surprise. I guess the Wii smoothes out the graphics or there kid like graphics aged much better. 🤷
Been thinking about making my own video talking about a future for this franchise. I have footage for the first game and some footage from the first stageof this game, but, if I credit you, would I be able to use any of your footage? It would likely only be a fraction if I go through with the video, but thought I would askto be safe ^^
@Under10Hours Excellent!! Hideki Kamiya has gone on record lot in recent years over how much he wants to return to the franchise to finish the story with VJ3. With him saying that again this year after his exit from Platinum and the ongoing buzz with Capcom reviving old franchises and TGS 2024, I've been doing all I can to spread awareness and bring excitement to the series! ^^
The DS game is kind of a weird between game that is them out of Movie Land and kind of hard to pin where it goes in the plot as the game is almost like Movie Land is safe but you never go into the castle at the end of 2 or deal with any plots from 2. You just kind of save the real world.
Viewtiful Joe is so underrated, didn’t realize there was a sequel 👀 this series seems perfect for a live action movie by Edgar Wright tho
That would be amazing!
I'd much prefer a "Spider-Verse" style animated movie...by Edger Wright.
It still breaks my heart we never ever got a viewtiful joe 3 because damn of these games were my childhood growing up.
I'm 26 years old now & still waiting for the 3rd game. Platinum games is gonna get a tweet from me very soon😠

Viewtiful joe is still my favorite capcom character ever.
Viewtiful Joe is my only favorite Capcom IP

That’s a devastating realization 😭
I lost a bunch of stuff in a move too so I can relate

It is crazy to think of a demo of a game would literally wipe out everything on your PS2.
Create a viewtiful mini series great for the community

Sure that’s fine

your way to underrated bro what the fuckk.......
Viewtiful Joe
Power Stone
I feel like everything i love from Capcom gets killed off. And cause of it i havent attached myself to any IP they made.
Have you ever played Viewtiful Joe Red Hot Rumble? In some ways it's what tied the gap between the games & the cartoon series
That’s what it gets for wiping my memcard in 2005
Who would have been the big bad in the 3rd. 1st was girlfriends dad, second was your dad spin off was your suposedly dead mother.
Wasn't there a viewtiful joe game on ds that finished the story? I could have sworn the story was finished at least.
