- My parish choir at St Joan of Arc in Post Fall, Idaho singing Allegri's Miserere at the end of Vespers on Good Friday, 2024. The quartet this year is a family of father (bass), mother (tenor) and two daughters (alto & soprano). Have mercy on me, O Lord, have mercy. And according the multitude of Thy tender mercies, blot out my iniquities.
This was Gold spun from the threads of 'commoners.' Truly beautiful! What a gift they gave to their parish. What an offering they made to The Divine.
Beautiful voices...God Bless. Listening from UK.
They did this one at my parish ICKSP at it's place at Tenebrae on Spy Wednesday, I broke down, one of my favorites and they nailed it.
This is so beautiful!
Mom had to get between those two boys reminds me of my childhood 😂
Miserere mei Deus....my favorite psalm in the Bible
Oremos Irmaos
1. This piece is more suitable at night in the darkness.
2. Why in the world is this director conducting in staccato when this sacred piece is more legato? I have no idea where the ictus is in her directing (in the up position?), and this makes it VERY confusing for the choir. Sorry. Just saying what the choir never will.
3. Great job by the choir. Beautiful.
I am imagining what this choir would sound like in a cathedral with proper acoustics. The basses really set this choir's foundation. Kudos to every member of this choir. The blend. the pitch...very well done.
I think the conductor was using sharp movements to keep the consonants/syllables lined up…so no one drags/speeds through in the rhythm of the chanted words. The choir sang the legato and every word was clear and of “one voice”…What a huge accomplishment for a small parish!
