That's what my racecar is except the black. I don't have any strong preference for any AW11 variety, except at 6'4" I lose too much headroom in the sunroof models. Slight preference for the lighter handling of the 85-86 suspension and NA models, but the SC torque is a blast.
Car looks great and the info is super useful! But maybe look into replacing that battery strap, with that amount of rust it might break mid turn like mine did and disconnect the battery.
I believe the significant expense of going black top + 6 speed would be inconsequential to my overall satisfaction, but this wasn't as much a choice than an opportunity. A silver top from an abandon project came up locally for about half the going price of a black top + 6 speed. If I had to choose though, there are diminishing returns on the higher cost of those 5 more horses a black top gets you. Likewise, the 6 speed conversion seems a significant project with small measurable gains.
This will be very informative as I plan on doing a 20V swap on my 87' AW11. I'm assuming Blacktop swap will be just about the same as Silvertop swap, no? Or would the slightly bigger plenum make it a bit harder or any other parts to note that would be more difficult when working with a Blacktop?
Wild. I've noticed the supply of these engines listed on eBay is far less than early 2020 when I bought this one. I wonder if more are being purchased, or if the sources are diminishing.
Definitely can tell someone really took care of that car.
My dream car is a 1988 supercharged tbar in black 😍 i would take it over anyother car ever made

Awesome I just brought one the same colour! I plan to go 20v in a year or so I'll see how I feel first but I look forward to seeing more videos!
Hope it goes well. I've got three parts for this and plan to do one one follow up in the future.
Amazing content! Thanks

Thanks! Hope it's helpful. Battery clamp will be part of the bay clean up project.

Very helpful tips. How much do you think it would cost to do this swap?
Hard to say. I know 20 valve prices shot up during COVID, but I have not kept track since. I don't know of off the shelf exhaust solutions.

Yes, basically you will face all the same choices. I don't know how different the plenum is but the Camry overflow has room to spare.
Subscribing!
Where I live the blacktop is cheaper the the silver top lol

The white fx got wrecked?
No! That's the JDM FX GT. It's fine. That 16 valve was was originally from this MR2, but had been living in a beater FX16 GTS.
@@ADub-Bub Got worried for a sec :D
