As a non-kenyan African this video is very informative. I have been to Kenya numerous times in the past but before I began following your channel I only really knew of Nairobi/Mombasa/Kisumu/Naivasha and Nakuru and have only visit Nairobi and Mombasa and had a pitstop in Voi. Now when I come to visit next year I will try to visit all those towns and cities. You should start a Travel agency to show Kenya to visitors. I will be the first to book you. LOL.
Next, travel to the North. We need to see towns like Lodwar, Wajir, Garissa, Mandera, etc. Nice work as always. Also, I was surprised Kakamege didnt make the cut.
i was hoping kakamega would feature in there. not from that area but i have toured there once and found it way developed than the meru or even machakos. otherwise you did a good job highlighting our country and showing the potential it has and growth it has achieved.

I agree with most of your assessment especially Nyeri. It has stagnated for sometime. It’s true Naivasha and a few others need some facelift. I have followed most of your content and I can image it must have been challenging to rank these cities considering some cities like Kakamega and Kericho were arguably impressive. What really stood out for me is the need continue planning our cities due to rapid urbanization and I hope your work will create the necessary awareness for this to happen. What you have revealed here is a pretty good appetite for growth which can even be greater with continued good governance. It is now up to the local governments to creat robust systems like Public Works that can be responsible for creating clean cities. Kenya is destined to be a SubSaharan giant, we need to continue picking good leaders! God bless 🇰🇪.

Kisii is a special case, It is mainly financed by remittances from people in diaspora and around 2004 it become the hub for free primary education funds for a large area from Kericho, Narok, Bomet, Migori and Homabay. Its main shortcoming is lack of space
Remittances is the main driver of kisii so many kisiis have ended up abroad .abagusii are hugely overrepresented when it comes to the diaspora population . almost every family these days has a relative in the US , UK , Canada or Gulf countries plus more kisiis from Nairobi and other parts of the country prefer to invest back home

That's a very fair analysis and depicts the real picture and I totally agree with you concerning Nyeri and Meru coz the cash flow and income per capital is high in those areas compared to most parts of Kenya but those towns have almost a stagnated growth line and are poorly planned and that should give a wake up call to the respective county governments and urban planners.

Your drone shots of Meru was a huge lost opportunity. You missed out on the better structured parts of it like the Stadium, Makutano, Kithoka residential area which looks like Muthaiga with posh bungalows as well as Kaaga which is the educational zone.

9:30 thika is an industrial town, some industries were transfered from nairobi to thika, farming also play a bigger part with delmonte notable industry, KVM(Kenya vehicle manufacturers) for fabricating buses,minibus

Am not here to anything wrong just opinion apart from Nairobi, Mombasa, kisumu Kenya, others cities doesn't have better and beautiful roads network but high building in Nigeria we value road networks and building environment for busines , railine, ports, and mansions also every of our cities have flyovers though Africa is still rising anyway beautiful cities love to visit especially Nairobi and Mombasa

Kakamega believe it or not only ranks high due to high population but in size of built up area it is smaller than even the likes of thika embu or nyeri. I live in kk but I have travelled to the other towns and largely agree with the list. Kisii btw if you visit you get the sense it will even overtake Eldoret in terms of built up area

I have lived and worked in Nakuru town it lags behind Eldoret and Kisii in regards to growth due to the aging population and more opportunities created by devolution in other towns in the county like Molo Gilgil and Naivasha and also proximity to Nairobi leaves it at a disadvantage. Contrary to common belief Nakuru grew as an administrative hub rather than an agricultural center therefore after devolution it lost out to other counties which have more agricultural investment like Kericho, Narok,Trans Nzoia, Uasingishu Nandi and Elgeyo Marakwet

Nakuru's major problem is the inability to construct storey houses with more than 5 floors due to the volcanic soil. It still beats Eldoret
