I like the effort you put in trying to get this feature to work. I know if I tried this in my city I would be filling out an accident report. Lol! GREAT VIDEO
That’s what everyone is telling me about their delivery dates. Tesla seems to be way late across the board. Hopefully you’ll receive it sooner than later. Thanks for supporting the channel and for watching.
@@teslaownersperspective1968 Great call! Looks like a serious upgrade. The Y is doing so well. Just removed the Gemini hubcaps to reveal the rim. My rear passenger side door sounds like a soda can crunching when someone closes it but.. overall it’s pretty darn flawless. Having so much fun overall tho.. it’s my first car in 10 years after living in NYC.
Lol. I’ve haven’t been able to get the summon to work correctly either. I did have a question for you regarding the auto pilot/full self driving. Does your X give you the option to auto lane change ? Does it make highway exits for you ? I had a loaner model 3 and I noticed it gave me options like “mad max” for auto lane changing. However , my 2022 model x doesn’t do any of that. I have full self driving package.
My X does allow me to change lanes by hitting the turn signal and then it does it automatically when safe to do so. It also exits as well. I don't have I have Mad Max mode though. I've actually never heard of it.
@@teslaownersperspective1968 hmmm okay. I wonder if I have to drive a certain amount of miles before it unlocks the auto lane change and hwy exit feature. I only have 800 miles. Mine does change lanes when I tap the turn signal
Hi Shinoy. The rust was on the black trim piece around the door. Mobile service came to my house and replaced the trim under warranty. For the brake rotor dust I was told to occasionally hit the brake pedal hard when driving and safe to do so and that will remove the rust on the rotor.
@@teslaownersperspective1968,it's interesting way to address rotor rust, but will try 😊 thanks, keep up the good works, helps lot of us new tesla owners.
Need to understand how the app is connecting? Cell network, Wifi direct or indirect, Ultra Wide Band (UWB) or Bluetooth? Vehicle could start off by using GPS coordinates for your general location. However as it nears your phone it should switch to Bluetooth or UWB once in range, so there is only one direct connection from your phone to the vehicle. Utilizing its multiple cameras it would be nice for facial recognition to activate as it approaches you. This would allow even more precise navigation to the final ending point. Please forgive me if this has already been addressed. New to your channel.
Hi Michael. Welcome to the channel. The app connects via Bluetooth. It can be spotty sometimes even when standing right next to it. I went to the mall yesterday and had my hands full and of course in the most inconvenient moment the X didn't recognize the phone. Had to out everything down and open the phone. At that point it finally worked. Id say it works 99% of the time.
Love Tesla and I am waiting patiently for a plaid X. But when it started driving away on that second pass I just started laughing. It most certainly needs some more work but I think summon is made more for parking lots or pulling into or out of garages. I could see it getting confused by the curbs as it doesn't know your driveway and the optical cameras only see a curb and don't want to go over it so they keep on going trying to find another way to get to you. On the first one the car turned in and once the ultrasonic sensors saw there was no steep curb it knew it could come up the driveway. On my old X I have a 90 degree lip on my driveway about an inch and a half tall and when I would go to pull into the garage the ultrasonic sensors would start beeping until I passed the lip. It would be interesting to try this with a driveway that doesn't look like a curb but then again I believe summon was designed more for coming out of the store and having it meet you at the curb. Kind of like what you did in the last part of the video. I would love to see what the X could do in a parking lot or if instead it would ride off into the sunset without me.
I never thought about the curb thing. You have a very good point. Im going to try it at a large parking garage today and see if that works best with the summon. Great comment and thanks for watching!
The issue has a component of whether or not the vehicle is in a mapped area. Your best success would be to use an area reserved for parking which has been mapped on the Google map. For example, a large grocery chain such as Meijer which would have streets shown on the parking lot. The reason your first attempts did not work is because you placed yourself in an area which is "off street". Any attempt to do that would typically be prevented as you saw. Your next attempt took it to a mapped street which it knows about. Therefore it worked. Still waiting for your phone call. Or have you decided not to call?

That’s a great question. I didn’t trust the car continuing down the street. Not sure how safe that would’ve been but it didn’t look like it was stopping any time soon. 😀
Hi STRID. You're right! After several more attempts and watching other videos I came to the same conclusion as you. I didn't realize the X was recognizing the sidewalk which is why it wouldn't go up the driveway. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
This is pour joke. I just dont understand how it would continue to drive past you. Is there a way to report this to Tesla? It does seem like it works better when the destination is not on private property.
I think it has a hard time distinguishing the difference between the street and the driveway. Im working on a video for a large parking lot. Hopefully it works better there. We'll see. Thanks for the reply and for watching!
This is the funniest episode you have made yet. I found myself saying, "Come here, little tesla!" Thank you.

Promising that it came up the driveway once. So there is hope. Does it back out of the garage?
It doesn’t back out completely. It says on the house cluster that the driveway is too steep. Kinda strange.
You really made my day with this video. I feel like summon will a lot better job at an actual parking lot
Im glad it did! I'll try in a parking lot with marked parking spaces next. Thanks for watching!
