That's awesome you're making your own boots. I think nowadays it's easier than ever for a person to learn how to make boots just by watching UA-cam videos and reading blogs, which is so cool. I'm actually almost done making my first pair of proper boots. It's crazy how much goes into making a pair of handsewn leather boots. I'm grateful this pair even came together, because I made a lot of mistakes. They were made on a zero-drop last I ordered from a company in Canada, and I went with a handsewn norvegese construction on a quarter inch thick oak bark tan insole. They're seven inch boots with a plain unstructured toe, fully gusseted tongue, and I actually saddle stitched the uppers with ritza 25 tiger thread; no sewing machine. The main parts of the uppers are made from cheap oil tan leather, and I used some veg tan calfskin for the tongues, vamp lining, and roll top. The heel counter and midsole is veg tan shoulder. I'm waiting for the Vibram full soles I ordered to arrive, should hopefully be here Tuesday, and then after some gluing and a little finishing they'll be done. I also designed the false tongues similar to the ones you made. I can't wait to wear them. It's a great hobby, and I'm thankful for it. I'll be very interested to see how yours turn out.
Do you use colored shoe cream on the Thursday hi-tops? Would you buy them in a different leather/color if you were to do it again? I've been eyeing a pair of their Vanguard boots in cacao for months now.
I have so many questions for you. I also have a higher than normal arch and I feel every boot I’ve owned or shoe for that matter doesn’t hug my arch. It seems those whites MP lasted boots support your high arch. I have a pair coming. I’m curious why you fallen out of love for them in your rotation? Does the high arch support not play into your boot decisions?
I don’t wear these quite as much mostly because I have found I prefer a wider width. Although these are technically correct for me I would re Oder then in an E or EE width. The MP arch is great but if you really want high arch go for the 55 last!
you have a great collection of boots ! I don't understand why you need these sneakers? throw them away. if you need a shoe for sports, take it NB or similar. save your feet.
Amazing collection. It's fun to listen to you and David talk about keeping a small (er) collection and really get to enjoy them.
Thank you!
Killer collection! And I love the vintage boot surprise cameo at the end. Thanks for the shout
Thanks homie!!
Outstanding collection of favourites!

I think I’ve maybe seen your Instagram before, didn’t you hop on discord for a minute? If not I’d love to check out your work!
You ever get those boots from Willies leathers? And if so how did they turn out?

No I don’t do anything to treat waxed flesh, for me the point of it is to make the rough out show and patina over time
Any plans to make some videos about how you make boots for fun / the process behind it ?
Possibly! I need to first learn how to do it though 😂😂

Sold to @everyoneelsefault on IG. Too much overlap with my olive role clubs so I moved them on.
