Love this work of art...I have created over 100 ornaments in different sizes-all vintage and French inspired that grace my 10 foot tree that is up year round...granted the moulds (IOD) are expensive but so enjoyable in following through the process and arriving at a final product...thank you for sharing the beautiful work of art!
These are absolutely fantastic. As I was watching you magically putting this together I was thinking about an antique booth. All your beautiful crafts and this video playing on repeat. Just to show the customers all the work that goes into making one these with beautiful music. It’s so soothing 🥰🩵
Such a beautiful ornament! I love watching you work and am always looking forward to learning new techniques. I only make things for myself and my son and am a newbie at it even though I am older. It’s amazing what one can do with the right products and techniques. Your work is splendid!
As a fellow crafter I can honestly say... My word you are so talented! This ornament is absolutely stunning!! I'm so glad I found your channel. You did a fantastic job! Loved every part of the presentation! Some videos are just off by music or not explaining good but yours is spot on! Keep up the good work! Excited to follow your journey! Wow‼️ If this doesn’t win the all time crafts then no one will🤩❣️😻 Be-u-til-full 😍. Oh my! you put your heart & soul into this❗️Thank you so much 😊. I’m new here but will be coming back, you can bet your bottom buck on that‼️ Elegant🩵
You'll be surprised how a little goes a long way. The clay and paste and varnishes... what is expensive are the moulds, but you only buy them once. It's a time-consuming hobby, that's for sure, but it's worth every minute if you enjoy it 😊
I recently started watching air lay videos. I had no idea. I love the creativity. After Christmas is bought I’m going to order all the supplies to start. I’m not sure what I need. Is there a list of the basic tools and supplies somewhere? You are such an artist. I’m sure I will be disappointed in my projects esp after seeing yours but I won’t give up!

I LOVE all things French and vintage, and I especially love this gorgeous French, Louis Quinze - style Christmas ornament. It's soooo beautiful and you're really talented. I see that you use a lot of Pentart products, and I use them all the time since I found them on the website of a store here in Australia. The 2 Part Fine Line Crackle Varnish is the best product I've ever used for creating the look of old porcelain that's got some very fine cracks in the surface glaze. Where did you find the Lindy's Gang Mica Spray? It's amazing stuff, and it really does create the look of old marble with the off - white paint that you daubed over the top of it. Thank you so much for this brilliant video tutorial. Merry Christmas from Amanda Jones in Australia ❤
Thank you very much, Amanda! ❤️ Love Australia; I was privileged to visit Gold Coast back in the late 90’s. I believe I purchased Lindy’s sprays from scrapbook.com
This is absolutely stunning!!! How much time in real hours did it take to make this? I hope you got paid handsomely for this incredible piece of artwork!!! You are amazing!!
You are incredibly talented and patient!! I have made some craft ornaments very simple and have been wanting to do up my skills with molds💙 your inspiration is greatly appreciated!! Have you ever attempted an egg ornament? That’s what I am trying to create with the frames and possibly crosses inside. Very old world crafted. Thx again for sharing⚜️
Thank you! Every Easter, I have good intentions to make an ornament. I have used egg shapes to make acorns, but not a Christmas ornament. I have made some that are shaped like a teardrop.
@@designsbyJ I have an idea to get antique/vintage egg cups and then coordinate an egg to sit on top🤷🏻♀️ something simple but unique enough to sell for Easter gifts. I’m still marinating on this idea. Worried the size would be to small to bring much interest. I wonder how big those Faberge eggs are🤣🤣🤣 .
VERY BEAUTIFULLY DONE! Don’t mean to pry, but How do you charge for your work? I’m setting up to start a small business & am at a loss. It seems this unique piece was a real labor of creativity & would deserve a higher price tag. Thanks for the video!
Thank you very much! Well, I never charge enough because my labor is never compensated say at an hourly rate. Most say to figure materials and charge 3-4x’s that. For me, trying to add up material costs is hard to get accurate as well. For example, I bought a new mold, the spray and the rhinestones for this piece. The rest of the materials, I already had but, obviously, purchased at some point. Yes, I charged a bit more then a normal ornament I just make to sell, but I really didn’t charge enough for this. 🤷♀️
@@designsbyJ I use to give away the things I made as a hobby. I’m disabled & working hard making presents for family with the intent to take pictures. Hopefully I’ll post as examples of my work. It will be a slow start, but a start nonetheless. I’ve got supplies from long ago too. I love to use things others didn’t see the potential in. I’m always looking for ways to save on supplies! I use plaster to thicken my paints cause it’s incredibly cheaper than Liquitex & the miss-tints at hardware stores as base colors esp for large projects. I totally understand the problem with figuring materials! I guess I’ll figure it out. Thank you for replying! I’m definitely a fan of your work & look forward to seeing more! Be blessed & have a wonderful Christmas🤩
Thank you! Here is a link to their shop. I don’t know if they still have exactly what I purchased or not as I bought them over a year ago. www.etsy.com/shop/BestPysanky?ref=yr_purchases
It just depends upon the complexity. This one took longer because of adding the resin topper and “ footer,” plus the rhinestone work. I’m estimating about 8-10 hours on this one. I guess I should keep track of my time, but I’m usually working on multiple things at a time while other steps are drying.
Yes. Question…would you use an exact blade to cut 1/4” thick wood? Thick resin is that hard. I like my fingers attached to my hands unscathed, lol. Choosing the correct tools for a project is part of safety.
What crafting and never half way, what takent you have been given. One question, the price you charge could in no way reflect your talent and time; are you happy with your sales? No disrespect intended!
Thank you! Well…my family says that I never charge enough. 🤷♀️ I try to figure a fair price based upon the cost of materials. If I included a fair price for labor, no one would buy the things I create. So… the labor is a bit of a gift, I suppose.
